I received a professional and friendly service in my recent clinical negligence case by Morgan Shimwell. I was always kept up to date on progress and responses were prompt. Morgan navigated me through the more complex jargon, ensuring he explained in layman’s terms where necessary and eventually bringing the case to a successful close. If you ever need a clinical negligence lawyer then I’d highly recommend Morgan.

Very disappointing experience. This was a family court matter where I received very limited advice, followed by unexpected charges for duplicated work that I had neither requested nor authorised. When I raised concerns, there was no willingness to listen or engage, only a blunt instruction to complain in writing.

At an already highly stressful time, this lack of care and transparency made things significantly worse. I ultimately paid the balance simply to move on. I have since instructed another firm who have provided proper, comprehensive support across all aspects of the case, which has only highlighted how poor this service was.

I would urge potential clients to be extremely cautious about costs and expectations.

Excellent service for the sale of our property. Julie Lomas and her team, especially Nicole Cutts, made us feel supported throughout the whole process.

We tried to use them as they're local to us, although a bit more expensive than most.
What they told us they could do prior to quote on the telephone, turns out they couldn't. Wasted best part of a week.
As soon as you sign up you're in whatever online portal they have chosen to farm out the initial data collection to. You might as well just use whoever is cheapest, as I'd guess they all do this.
Didn't feel local or helpful if it didn't fit their online / automated process.

As a by the by, I don't particularly care - and I assume most businesses do - and you had the chance to look into it the last week. Again, rather obviously.

Julie Lomas was my solicitor and a pleasure to deal with. On the other side of my purchase was an incredibly slow solicitor who caused substantial delays, but Julie and her colleagues were professional, prompt & responsive. Best solicitor I have used and worth paying the extra for in my opinion.

We were recommended to use Taylor Emmet through the Mortgage Advice Bureau in Barnsley following a call to MAB's telephone line, and we are so pleased we used TE. We were introduced to Stacey Baxter's Team of conveyancers who have been so friendly, hardworking and completely on point throughout the process. Without Stacey, Elsa, Ruth and Maryum, we don't know where we would have been in the buying process, and we successfully moved into our new house on 26th September 2025. Ruth has been an absolute asset to Stacey Baxter's Team, without Ruth, we would have still been waiting to receive a completion date due to the inconvenience of our buyers solicitors. If anyone requires a solicitor for their upcoming house move - we highly recommend!

Initially the service was great, with good communication, quick replies and progress. However approaching exchange and completion, communication stopped, I was given incorrect information when I made enquiries, and on the day of exchange nothing happened. This caused a great deal of stress for myself and the vendors. It would seem this was due to my main solicitor being away, which I was unaware of, and on her return everything was resolved very quickly, but the previous week or two were very disappointing.

I can't thank Julie Lomas and her team enough. They were both efficient and professional, and helped us enormously to resolve issues with other solicitors.

Wanted to use them to sell my house. Can't even get the phone answered to get it started.

Absolute disgrace applied to solicitors as no win no fee on Friday told someone would call me Monday (them knowing my early conciliation certificate runs out on 22nd ) recieved no such call .got an email them wanting me to send all my evidence via email for them to decide to much to send via email which i let them know and they want to charge me 250 an hour for an appointment !! What happened to no win no fee !! Absolutely disgracefully so wasted my time which is running out and now gotta find another no win no fee who will actually speak to me so they understand the evidence im showing them

I have just completed a transfer of equity with Taylor & Emmet and they made it quick and simple. I dealt with James Wong and Anna Mack, both were knowledgeable and helpful. They made the process less stressful for me as paperwork is not my favourite thing, but also helped me understand the wordy legal stuff. Would highly recommend.
