Mr Caterer is clearly highly experienced in his field and completed the job in a timely and highly professional way despite having to work to a tight timescale. From the moment we began the sale and purchase process, Daljit Dale proved to be an invaluable asset. The entire transaction can be a maze of legal jargon, deadlines and unforeseen complications but Daljit guided us through it all with ease, poise and sheer expertise.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Taylor Walton during a recent property purchase was well below the standard expected of a professional conveyancing firm.

Communication was a constant struggle. Many of my questions went unanswered or were met with vague, non-committal replies that didn’t clarify the legal position. I often felt I had to chase repeatedly just to understand what was happening, and at times I was told something would be done only to later discover that the responsibility had been shifted back to me without any clear explanation.

There were also several lapses in attention to detail — including sending a completion statement that omitted an agreed price reduction, requiring me to point it out. Updates were frequently incomplete or confusing, creating unnecessary stress throughout the process. Especially given how long and complex the transaction became, I expected more proactive guidance, clearer communication, and a more supportive approach.

I’m glad the purchase is now complete, but the experience was far more difficult than it needed to be. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Taylor Walton based on this experience.

Used them to change land registry. Started the process then ignored my emails to ask for progress. After a couple of weeks, I called them and they still couldn't provide an answer, and became quite defensive.

Really wouldn't recommend the Harpenden branch. It wasn't a pleasant experience waiting for an answer, and then feeling like you're a bother whenever you contact them. Very poor communication.

I explored five different solicitors before making my decision. Some initial emails lacked detail about the lease extension process, while a few others were quite pricey. Ultimately, I chose Taylor Walton because their initial email provided the right amount of information about the lease extension process. During my first phone call with Tracey Taylor, she thoroughly explained the process and associated costs, demonstrating professionalism and expertise. Throughout the entire process, Tracey and her team kept me well-informed, responding to emails on the same day, which contributed to a very smooth experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Taylor Walton to anyone looking to extend a flat lease.

Everything was easy and smooth and we were always informed at each step.

My experience with Taylor Walton so far has been disappointing and stressful.

Some emails have gone unanswered, which has made the process more stressful than it needed to be.

The team seems disorganised, and their lack of communication has caused unnecessary stress. Simple queries that could be resolved with a quick response are often ignored. It seems they are just using emails without a proper system to track them.

We also spotted mistakes in documents that required correction, which was concerning.

There has been little clear guidance about the next steps, leaving us uncertain about the progress of our purchase, particularly challenging if you haven't done this before.

Overall, I expected a smoother and more responsive service. I hope the firm takes this feedback on board to improve communication and client support. This is a throwaway account as I’d prefer to remain anonymous, but this review reflects my genuine experience.

The seller used this firm during the sale of their property I was trying to buy. What should have been a simple house purchase turned into nearly 11 months of frustration before I finally had to walk away.

The biggest issue was their lack of communication. Emails often went unanswered for weeks, updates were rare, and it felt like there was no urgency at all on their side. Other parties involved in the process pointed to this firm as the main source of delays, and I have to agree.

The experience was stressful, disheartening, and ultimately cost me a huge amount of time. I would strongly advise others to avoid this firm if you want your conveyancing handled efficiently

As a Firm they have been 100% excellent in achieving our goals from complicated litigation to property purchases and sales.
Six months ago, we decided to sell another of our BTL properties – in this case a freehold 4-bedroom house.
The purchasers were first time buyers and there wasn’t a chain so it should have been a very straight forward sale.
