I bought an Internet package (data only)
of 24gb in The bali Airport Denpasar on arrival .
It worked great on day 1. The next day my phone went 'no SIM card'.
Went to a local shop who didn't want to help me because I bought @Airport not with them.
Then tried to send an email to customer service. Which asked me all kinds of weird questions, not really helping out.
Thought telkomsel was the best. But have a new opinion now.
When or even if will it work again?

sim card scam!
I have paid for a Telekomsel sim card with 100gb, 200.000idr. This was already expensive to begin with. the lady was working on my phone for 20-25 minutes. I got a text after just 1 week saying that I have used all my data and I have to pay if I want more. This is not possible, usually I use 10-20Gb max in my home country if I use netflix, youtube etc. I didn’t in this case and was on wifi all the time and only used it for google translate or maps etc. How is this possible? Don’t buy the sim cause you will get scammed

Bought a tourist SIM, after two days more than 6gb gone, that's not possible, my Thai SIM uses in the same time 1gb with even more usage.
Even one of the biggest mobile companies in indonesia is a fuck1ng rip off, like so often in south-east asia. It's fuck1ng hilarious.
Redefines aweful
Bad coverage, low speed, confusing pricing plans, non existent customer service. Time to disrupt these government monopolies!
Terrible Service - Not recommended
The service at the majority of points in Bali is spotty at best and commonly inconsistent. I could have full bars at one point and have no service within the next minute without moving.

Initial problem:
- logged out of account, PIN needed to verify log in
- traveling out of Indonesia, no access to SMS. couldn't log in via another method bc never linked account to Gmail, Twitter, etc.
- need to top up credit (isi pulsa) before number gets suspended (masa tenggang)
- contacted CS via email, requested PIN be sent via WhatsApp or email
Telkomsel's Response:
Kept tossing my email to a new person each time WITHOUT ADDRESSING THE ISSUE. No one read anything. Responses made NO SENSE, e.g.
- never responded to my request but kept telling me they would text me the next steps. Repeated original request multiple times: cannot receive SMS!
- irrelevant "troubleshooting": restart your phone, update the application, restart again, etc. How is that going to give me the PIN?
- they told me to wait 72 hours but absolutely no follow up. I reached out on Day 4 just to be met by a completely new person and go back to square one.
- asked to speak to supervisor, ghosted. Still no response 3 days later.
Had to ask someone to physically stop by a Telkomsel counter in Indonesia for help (which is absurdly inaccessible and inefficient). If you are having a similar problem, apparently you can call *888#. Emailing is useless.
CS never told me about *888# or offer an alternative.
Never exchange point to voucher again
I exchanged my 250 Telkomsel points to Grab Food voucher worth IDR25k n when I tried to use it on Grab Food app and it didn't work out. I complained to them n still no solution untill now. So the lesson is NEVER EVER EXCHANGE YOUR TELKOMSEL POINT TO ANY TRASH VOUCHER!!! Btw their internet TOO SLOW

The most lousy telco I have even met. In Denpasar I bought a subscription for a vacation to stay connected with family. But suddenly the subscription stopped working. After hours online with their BOT and finally a service employee, they told me that the subscription does not work in that particular area. I was not told that in the airport.
Now I am within coverage area but the phone does not work, neither does their BOT.
I cannot recommend this telco to anyone at all. Stay away. There is absolutely no service and no help at all.

Telkomsel's customer service is terrible. They offer Telkomsel SIM cards at the airport, although the booth lacks an automated registration system. I emailed Telkomsel and they said I could do it online. After preparing all of the documents, customer care informed me through video call that everything needed to be done in person in the Grapari store and could not be done online. With all of this, fxck up and pixs off. It's a complete waste of my time.

It just keep getting bad
For some reason the signal quality over the years keep decreasing and unstable, they gotten greedy because of their monopoly and just focusing on increasing profit instead of satisfying their customer. They gave many "deals", "promo" and "sales" for internet quota while you can barely use any of them because simply connecting to internet with stable connection itself is a big achievements. I am done with them, for 8 years I have been using their service enough is enough. I am utterly disappointed.

Same as the previous reviewer Elisa, I had the same experience. Ended up buying the same package 3 times since it didn't activate, got the runaround for a week via useless email support (which take hours to answer if they're ever answered), and two calls to the call center were disconnected.
You know it's a bad company with no service-orientation as soon as you call -- a recording asks you to choose the language and if you choose English you get a broken-English voice messaging system that guides you to a rep who doesn't speak English and while on hold you get to listen to recorded messages that are not in English.

Be carefull if buying telkomsel roaming package. I bought one and being charged 3 times. I tried to contact call centre and their twitter but they just ignored. The steps were very misleading. I am really dissapointed with the way Indonesian largest mobilephone provider.
