I had a fantastic experience with this…

I had a fantastic experience with this teslarents company. The vehicle was delivered on time, spotless, and in excellent condition. The customer service was outstanding, making the entire rental process smooth and easy. I will definitely be renting from them again in the future. Highly recommended!

Stay away from this company

Stay away from this company! We had booked a car for a day with pickup in Brooklyn. On three different occasions, they changed both the car and the location of our booking. The last time was just half an hour before we were to pick up the car and we were sent to the Bronx. When we got there, we were told that the car was not there, but in Midtown. When we finally got there, it took over 90 minutes to get the car! In total, we spent over 3 hours and $100 in taxi to pick up the car we were going to rent. They just blamed their subcontractors and will not take responsibility for the mistake. We got a small discount, but they would not reimburse the taxi bill after sending us around the city all morning

Update on Teslarents review as of today (07/ 07/2024)

I posted a review giving this company one star and see they replied so I’ll take the time to break down each lie from Tesla

1. Teslarents says I’m a 21 year old who used the car for Uber.

Explanation: I’m 28 years old and I didn’t even do Uber at the time of the accident., New York is a “no fault” state meaning it don’t matter who’s responsible for the accident. Tesla rents keeps trying to spin the story as if I’m upset about paying for damages when I had full coverage. To this day I never had to pay a single red cent in any damages because I have full coverage. Even Tesla rents confirmed with me through text and email that that my insurance handled everything and I have no costs.

2. Teslarenrs tries to say “our insurance doesn’t cover Uber”. Once again, I have full coverage. I’m not sure why this would even matter. Even after the accident, Tesla rents confirmed with me through text and email that my insurance (geico) is covering everything. Great, so they acknowledge my insurance is covering all the damages but they never return my security deposit. They still kept it lol. Then on my next reservation when I bought their insurance, they refused to let me start the reservation that I spent $1320. I canceled and they didn’t even return that security deposit either. So these are issues stemming from MULTIPLE reservations, not one accident.

Lastly the biggest lie. How can I owe $3000 to you? But you’re also admitting I’m doing chargebacks? So which is it? You can’t chargeback on money that never left your account. They can’t even lie properly because it don’t make sense!

My last reservation was June 2nd to June 9th. The accident was may 20th. The reservation they didn’t let me start because I bought their insurance? That was booked from may 28-June 11th. So ask yourself, if I owed them money, why was I able to keep renting even after the accident? Notice how they act like there was this big fall out because of the accident but fail to mention the two reservations I booked and paid for right after?’
Right after the accident I booked a reservation that was more than double what the accident cost me. $1320+500 deposit. That’s $1820 just to drive around a car for two weeks. They know damn well I don’t owe them $3000.

How can I owe? I can’t even start the reservation until everything is paid for. It’s literally not possible to owe when they charge my card on file before the reservation even starts. For me to even go get the car I had to have already paid the deposit and reservation in full.

Lastly, one of the cars from my reservations, I told the owner, “I’ll give you the same money I’m paying in Tesla rents and let’s get off that platform”

So while Tesla rents is saying not to rent from me I’m literally at this moment, driving around in a Tesla I originally rented off Tesla rents.

Feels great not getting charged 30% extra on charges, $1.50 extra for tolls, and being called a liar?

Lastly, to Teslarents, you say every state in the us, but new York isn’t one of them. Go look at New York insurance law and you’ll see the laws you’re in violation of. You’re openly admitting to violating New York insurance law and this is all public info. You don’t have to take my word for it. You can’t claim to hold onto a security deposit as a deductible for an accident because NY STATE ALREADY MANDATES ALL INSURENCE COMPANIES TO PROVIDE 100% COVERAGE TO ALL RENTALS OF 30 DAYS OR LESS. So this entire explanation about me not wanting to pay for damages, notice no where Teslarents states how much these damages are? Because it was fully covered. They just keep the deposit hoping I’m stupid lol.

If I’m wrong how come I actually got back one of my security deposits from the chargeback I filed? Half my chargebacks are just security deposits they won’t give back to me. I only got into one accident. What Tesla rents does is they come back later with bogus toll and charge fees but they hold onto your security deposit until you pay the outstanding balance. If you owe them $100 they’ll keep your $500 until you pay the $100 instead of just returning $400 to you. They claim they have to wait days and even up to a week to get till data and charge info like that isn’t instantly traceable. They wait and drag things out hoping you aren’t paying attention to their accounting. They figured since I was renting every week I would slip up and forget. Yall never returned any of my deposits and every reservation after first one there’s charges and till fees they never proved to me where it came from. I had to issue chrgebacks due to bad accounting
