Miss sold timeshare
In 2002 I became a member of of Club Ia Costa timeshare. With an annual and maintenance fee.On a points membership by buy points.It looked a good timeshare ,5* accommodation. Every time you used it, you had to attend a sales meeting , which was a money making sales pitch as the more points you buy you have the better . accommodation you can get. To purchase the points you had to take a loan out with a bank which the providedof the We had some good holidays . Moving on to 2012 at one of the sales pitch , CLC informed me that by Spanish law the points system was illegal and we had to change to what they called fractions which ment you kept the points but your annual membership and maintenance cost would reduce, a small payment plus points would be required when booking an apartment. This tuned out to be false looking back the fraction system was missold.
As you know getting out of a timeshare was difficult. We had cold calls from many companies I informing that that the fraction system was illegal and try could get us out of the timeshare within six months these could were scammers ..eventually in 2022 we contacted Trading standards and asked for their advice. They advised us to contact ECC in Spain which we did .we , they told us it would take them six months to get us out of the contract ,at a cost and they would be able to get all our money back as we were miss sold the contract by CLC back a cost and signed a 5 year contract as that would enable them to resolve everything. Through their solicitors M1 leagues .on a RBS credit card ( royal Bank of Scotland)They have done absolutely nothing we thought they were legitimate as advised by trading standard s .
Moving on to 2024, we contacted a company called Consumer Reclaim who dealt with missold timeshare who took our case on . We dealt with with a guy call Trey . With in a few month we were out it the timeshare contract and told us that ECC and M1 legend were a scam company and he would help us get our money back ftom the loan companies and RBS under section 75.
Unfortunately last year Trey left CR and we could my contact them .eventually we found out the were not in business anymore. We were left in limbo as we didn’t know who to contact regarding our ong case with them
Eventually I managed to to contact Trey and he apologised for the situation that CR had left us in and that he had started a new company. He has now taken on my case when he left at RC . He his now progressing my claim from ECC / M1 with RBS . And other bsnk
I think this company is excellent in helping people in our situation and very friendly They keep you updated and treats you as you at special person.
In my opinion I would not hesitate to advise people who help to contact the company. On of the best companies I have ever dealt with with
