This review is written 2-3 months after the work is done.
Watched their work over Facebook and YouTube and took my car over there. Gytis worked on my car. I wanted to change the chain and work on air condition. While working Gytis found the turbo was dead and advised to get it changed. I agreed on the quote and they changed it. 2 weeks down the line it failed its MOT due to massive oil leak. My local garage (I drove 3 hours one way to go to car edition believing they would be great as per their videos) told me the leak is likely from turbo oil feeding pipe so I got it changed, however it was still leaking, so they reinvestigated and found it was leaking from the turbo. I contacted The Car Edition and they asked me to bring it in. After investigation they told me it was leaking from turbo oil feeding & drain pipe. When mentioned I just got it changed and told them the other mechanic investigated and mentioned it is leaking from the turbo. Their gesture was other mechanic was ignorant and they changed the same pipe and told me it was okay now. 5 days later I found a it was leaking dangerously was low on oil. Fortunately, I found it before the was completely dry on oil. I contacted them and brought it back to them. This time after keeping it for few days they repeated what I told them in the first place, it was leaking from the turbo as the new turbo failed (I understand it is sheer bad luck, no one's fault) so they changed it. (Fortunately, after driving for few weeks, it is not leaking anymore). However, after I went home I found the engine cover and engine under splash guard was missing. So I went back and was told it probably fell off. When I insisted to look around the garage they found them.
There are many reasons to give them 3 stars.
Good points:
1. Gytis is a good technician.
2. They did the follow up works for free (Although something happened with the battery and I had to pay £132 for the automotive electrician charge, this happened while the car was with them for a week).
Bad points:
1. Appalling communication: When you are paying such high charge for fixing your car (approx £110/hour), you expect regular updates. For example, I called them in the morning, they told me they will call me back with an update at the end of the day which did not happen. I explained them I had to take roughly 5 hours public transport journey to reach them and I had to plan at least couple of days ahead to manage my work. (I repeatedly told them about this).
2. Awful check prior handing over the car: again costlier charge should come with better checks. Leaking car (Should I have not rechecked myself, the dry engine would have caused catastrophic damage to the engine), missing parts (It was not a bolt that you can misplace and not see by accident, two big pieces of plastics is not much difficult to see, missing just these cost me an extra £60 on fuel).
3. Not listening to their customers, underestimating other technicians: despite telling them the work of the other technician, they did not lend a ear at all and was fully arrogant with their skills which eventually turned out to be wrong. Just because of these I had to go 3 extra times to get my car fixed, each of which cost me roughly £120 including public transport and fuel and 4 days lost on my annual leaves. Total back and forth over 3 months (November - February)
Lesson for me: Not everything you see on social media is true, everything is flashy there. I could have fixed it at my local garage and probably avoided all the hassle. Car editions mechanics are probably good as we watch on the video, but overall it is not worth the higher cost. However, I am content as I did not have to scrap the car.
2 stars for the work, rest of them taken out due to overall management of the garage.

I see others were not happy with Car Edition but I can only speak as I find. They were friendly, helpful and fixed my problem. I will definitely be returning to them!

I was informed by the company after a service my front lower bush arms are worn. To correct the problem I would have to change the front lower bush arms and the front rear bush arms all at once. I told them this is not correct but they insisted it is the only way they would change the front lower bush arms. I took my car to BMW which is a bmw 420i 2017 and they tell me that the company The car edition are wrong and they are just charging me for things that don’t need to be done. If they are going to charge me for work that doesn’t need to be done then god knows what they are doing to other people. Just be careful with The Car Edition company as they maybe charging for work that doesn’t need to be done.

The Car Edition is hands down the best garage around. Outstanding mechanics who genuinely know their craft and take pride in their work. Honest advice, top-quality repairs, and excellent customer service every time. Don’t just take my word for it—this is the place you can trust with your car.

Followed The car edition on YouTube and was impressed. However tried to get a quote for wet belt replacement on the website contact form, got no reply. Phoned to get a quote sat on hold for 20 minutes, gave up. Called next day and finally got to speak to someone, explained what I wanted and was told someone would get back to me in 24hrs with a quote. 3 days later finally got a text reply with a link to their quote. I accepted the quote and haven't heard a thing back from them. Went to Citroen main dealer given the cost immediately and guess what it was £200 cheaper. Thanks to Citroen St Ives for providing excellent service, car booked in. The car edition can jog on.

I’ve had some bad experiences with other garages so I decided to give The Car Edition a go after seeing their work online. I was a bit worried as my little Micra does a lot of travelling for its size, so I took it in for its full service and the whole process was very straightforward. A reasonable price, nice guys and a great service. Thank you!

I brought my father’s SLK32 AMG to The Car Edition after it wouldn’t start post-winter storage. The engine turned over but wouldn’t fire. What followed was extremely disappointing and, frankly, worrying.
Despite clear information I provided about recent work on the car, they replaced the crank sensor without testing it properly (costing over £600) and it made no difference. They then diagnosed catastrophic engine failure due to oil leaking into the cylinders from a "turbo"—despite the car being supercharged, not turbocharged.
When challenged, they backpedaled but continued pushing expensive repairs, including replacing the supercharger and intercooler. They couldn’t confirm whether the car ever actually started after all this.
I removed the vehicle and had it sent to STARAUTO in Huntingdon, who quickly found the real issue: contaminated fuel. After draining the tank and fitting new spark plugs, the car started and ran fine. No engine rebuild. No failed parts. No drama. Just proper diagnosis using experience.
This company may handle newer vehicles competently, but in our case, they misdiagnosed the problem, communicated poorly, and charged for work that wasn’t necessary. I genuinely worry about how many others may have paid for incorrect or excessive repairs.
This review is to help others avoid a similar experience. Always get a second opinion, especially if you're quoted for major work based on vague or questionable diagnostics.

Very poor experience with Caredition. I paid a significant amount to fix an electrical fault, but the problem wasn’t resolved at all. No clear explanation, just vague responses. Waste of time and money—would not recommend.

I can't speak for their work but these blokes are so genuine it's nuts. I had a parcel sent to another company on their industrail estate but there was a mix up in delivery where it was sent here instead. I rang up and explained what happened, I didn't get the name of who I dealt with(might have been Andrew) but he went down and delivered it to them himself for me. Absolute legend.

My husbands bought a transit van else where and had clutch issues . Had a.new clutch & fly wheel fitted under his warranty at this garage as it was on the their 5* list of garages in my area and the service was excellent . Very friendly guys and the work shop is immaculately clean ! Very professional set up for vehicle repairs !
After the excellent service we experienced we booked our own Range Rover in for new auxiliary belts and pulleys to be fitted and again we were given excellent professional service by a friendly team !
Will be using them again when needed and would recommend definitely

Dom, Prince and Owen are excellent motor mechanics. They serviced my vehicle and during the service they pointed out serval issues with my car, engine mounts perished, rear shock absorber leaking, lower wishbones rubbers perished, rear hub bearing collapsed, diesel injectors leaking. They addressed all of the issues. The car now drives like a new vehicle. With this in mind I would recommend The Car Edition to my family, friends together with anyone who needs their car looked at thoroughly when issues occur with their cars / vans or requires a good service.

Car went in for MOT, and I knew there was a few things needing attention. Team was very friendly. They did a complete inspection of the car and provided very clear technical expertise and advice on safety issues vs advisories. Walked me through what was needed doing now and what needed monitoring and could be fixed later. Clear about the price estimate up front for all work, so I could check average prices for the work online. Very trnasparent and Very good service throughout.

Got a transmission flush done in my auto, it makes a big difference! Going to get them to do my van too! Great service and very friendly team. Thanks!
