If I could give this company less than 1 star I would. I inquired about the proper INCII names for the dyes in their fragrance dye and it took them a month to get back to me with an “answer”. When they finally did, they sent me a response from Chat GPT where they clearly asked “hey, what’s in our dye?”.
Of course Chat GPT didn’t know, so it just sent me a list of dyes that it could be.
Yes, they asked Chat GPT what is in the product they’re selling to people. This is literally the stupidest response I’ve ever gotten to a product inquiry ever. I have no idea how these people are running a business but it’s obviously terrible.

ordered compare to Oleg Cassini (M). Not only was it nothing like the original, it was actually obnoxious and offensive. The original Oleg Cassini for men was musky with notes of dark amber, patchouli, and jasmine. This sample smelled more like a soapy disinfectant used in a dentist office. There was no effort to match the original formula. In fact; I doubt they ever even had it.

I have been ordering Egyptian Musk and Curve oil from Common Scents for over 15-18 years. I have been pleased with the quality and have gotten thousands of compliments all over the world. Recently (December 2025) I placed an order for two 1/6 oz of Egyptian Musk and a 1/6 oz bottle of Armani. Upon receiving the fragrances. I was not satisfied with the weak smell. I could tell that there was a slight hint of Egyptian Musk fragrance. But it was not absolutely not enough for the scent to stay in my clothes. Within a minute you could not smell the fragrance. I emailed Common scent to let them know my disappointments. Especially because I’ve been a customer for over 15-18 years. They responded quickly with professionalism. Are a week of responding back and forth. They were NOT willing to make the request of me getting a stronger scent. Unless I returned the two 1/6 oz bottles. Today I 12/2325 call and spoke with a young lady about the email. After explaining the emails and where I stood she told me the same thing. She offered to get her supervisor and I wasn’t not angry I was not upset or being loud or using profanity. I was laughing and making the most out of the situation trying to be lighthearted. She tells me they I’m not being serious twice then she hung up on me. They refuse to make the situation right. I’ve been a loyal customer for between 15 & 18 years. I told both the the representatives that I am sending the fragrances back. The arrogance and ignorance to lose beyond loyal customer. Not that I used foul language, not that I used a loud tone nor was I being disrespectful. They refuse to make the situation right. The website DOES NOT provide information to distinguish what fragrances are stronger or weaker. I am disappointed that I will no longer be able to support or get the Egyptian Musk fragrances that I’ve been using since 1999. It is difficult to find this oil.

This product is straight trash garbage if you will. What you order is not what you’re getting. Soon as I opened the package and untwisted the cap and put it to my nose. I knew it wasn’t the fragrance I purchased. I wish I had reviewed the reviews before I spent my money. I’m officially over ordering online. It’s a hassle to get my money back. You never know what you’re getting. Buy in store it’s safer at least you pick what fragrance you like in person. I should have used my common sense.

There is very little smell to the oil. I was highly disappointed. I was under the impression this was a strong scent that was comparable to the original. And could be diluted. Maybe my packer mixed my order up with MCT
I would not recommend.

However if its unopened you can pay shipping again and get your money back. What a joke.

The prices are way more expensive now and shipping costs is really bad use to buy often but now it's out of hand loss my business

The oils are very very very weak, smell goes away after you put it on. All of the oils smell the same and the nicest way I could put it is there complete garbage. When the new owners took over they completely destroyed the scents. They smell nothing like the og. I buy mine from African Imports very pleased with every purchase I made. And there the same price as the bogus common scents never again will I buy from them and hopefully everybody stops buying this diluted weak as fake smelling oils. Nothing but a rip off everytime.

As someone who has been using oils for years I can say ‏ these are very weak. Save your money and do not buy.

Not enough fragrance in the rancid carrier oil to tell you if the smell was accurate. I tried 9 oils. All too weak to recognize the scent. I called for a refund and Liam told me that in cold weather I needed to warm the oil? Like the temp of the oil at my skin temp is too low? Funny. The Oil Purfumery products smell like the correct cologne at the temp of my skin - no problem. And their steel rollers work, unlike the cheap rollers used by Common Scents. Save your money and avoid CS.

Great Customer Service from NIkki over the phone, she was helpful when selecting my fragrance oils... 5 Stars to her. Liam is also great for online support 5 Stars!!! I am happy with my order. Like any other fragrance company you must order your samples and then choose larger quantities of what ever you love. There are some very powerful fragrance oils here, you just have to sample a lot. So much to choose from. 5 Stars.

I was so excited to find an option for Intimately Beckham for her...opened the oil. Absolutely no smell at all!!!! Spent 21.00 for 2 ounces of oil with no smell. Don't waste your $$

This is the best place to buy oil perfume no alcohol at all and the cologne is not strong we have to be closed to the person to smelled it I really like it no stings no headaches nothing

I have been using this company for a couple of years now off and on. I have had no complaints on their products that I have purchased. In fact, my client's have expressed their love in how the scents they have smelled was the closest to the real scent. Keep doing a "Great" job and continue with you excellent customer support. Shipping was quick. However, buyer beware, they do not offer returns per their FAQ. Additionally, the scent quality of their body oils is terrible. I ordered scents that I'm very familiar with because I have the legit perfumes and none of the oils I received smell anything like the real deal. I recommend looking elsewhere, don't waste your money.

I ordered a 32 oz bottle of Pier One Asian Spice Pure oil. from The Common Scents.
This is my first time ordering from The Common Scents and my last. This oil was $60 plus shipping and handling and it smells absolutely nothing like it should.
I have been using Pier 1 Asian Spice candles, fragrance oil and the entire line for more than 10 years so I know exactly what it smells like.
Pier 1 no longer sells it.
The Common Scents customer service informed me that this smells exactly like Asian Spice by Pier 1.
I tried to call several times to speak with their customer service, no matter what time of day they do not answer the phone and eventually I'm on hold so long it goes to voicemail.
I've sent an email, someone did answer me back named Liam who told me to send him a picture of the bottle.
I sent him a picture of the bottle and his response was that it looks to be the right color to be Pier 1 Asian spice. That was it.
I emailed him back and said how can you tell by the color of the oil that it's correct? That's impossible. You guys brag about how you sell over 2,500 different fragrance oils. But he knows by the color of this one that it's the correct oil and I'm wrong?
So since he did not answer my email and no one answers your business phone,
I'm going to post my experience anywhere and everywhere I can think of to let people know of my experience so they don't experience the same thing.

If I could give 0 result I would. Not nice to deal with. Ordered last year, now August 2023 and still no package after several emails and now they say that the order is too old to track down shipping information and tracking which is not my problem if they cant do their job. Very frustrating after spending over $100. Stay clear of this company

I have been ordering Common Scents Oils for years and never really had a problem.Now,they changed their oils.Everyone I know loved the Light Blue for woman,but now it smells totally different.It smells horrible.I have complained to them several times.One time I was told the Light Blue was mislabeled, but,over a year later it still smells horrible.Someone else told me nothing was changed and I am the only one complaining.I been trying oils from newer fragrances and they smell nothing like they should.Now their prices went up for the oils and the shipping charges are insane,and their sales went down.I use to get sales that were 40% off.Now I am lucky to get 15% off.I need to find a new place.

I am very very disappointed, I bought more than a dozen fragrances for a new fragrance company I just started. To my surprise they all did not have any scent. I contacted the company and I was told there was no refund. I am still paying for these fragrances because i financed them. Will not purchase again from them. I still have fragrances that are not used.
