This was a really dissappointing experience. My brother meant to buy me Cook Food vouchers but bought these by mistake so I thought I would give it a go anyway.

After logging on I was shocked at how expensive everything is, for 2 meals that feed 2 people each, it came to £63 - arguably more expensive than a takeout.

I ordered on a Friday and it arrived the following Tuesday.

The instruction kits look beautiful but they are very confusing to actually read, with multiple recipe cards needing to be actioned simalteaneously for one meal - my husband and I both had to do this together. Some ingredients came prepped, some didn't, some said on the label that they were prepped but weren't. Some items on the ingredient list mentioned how they should be prepped, others said nothing at all.

The rice demanded to be washed 4 times and left to soak for 20 minutes - I wish I had just cooked it the normal way in my rice cooker - 10 mins and no fuss for the same end result.

Instructions were sometimes vague and the amount of washing up left was vast, for one meal we needed 2 frying pans, 2 saucepans, 2 dishes, 2 mixing bowls, a sieve and a blender - and we didn't even bother with the 9 ingredient massala chai that went with it.

The meal itself was a let down, having followed all the timings to the letter, parts were underdone making it a 'crunchy' curry in places.

We have another meal to cook but honestly I am thinking about just putting it in the bin - it's more trouble than the meals we cook normally

Expensive, Laborious, Confusing & Dissappointing.

We ordered the chateaubriand experience kit and WOW - it didn’t disappoint! The whole experience from start to finish was fantastic! Prompt delivery, the quality of the premium ingredients, easy to follow recipe cards, gorgeous food and a lovely date night with my other half! So convenient that it comes with everything you need down to the smallest detail of the cooking oils and spices and no subscription needed! I would highly recommend cookaway and will definitely be ordering again!

Got this as a gift for a significant birthday. It was fantastic! Super tasty, fantastic quality of ingredients and simple instructions.

We cooked the most wonderful Japanese feast using the izakaya experience box . All the ingredients were fresh, high quality and generous in portion size . Really clear instructions enable us to make the dishes in an authentic way . They all tasted superb

A fantastic meal box with everything you need to make a delicious meal. I loved all the little touches such as the Spotify playlist and the cooking guide which made the experience enjoyable. I tried the Chicken Handi and Saffron Pulao, it was delicious. I have picked up some cooking tips that I will now use again in the future. I would love to try some other dishes again in the future.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but wow this Malaysian crispy chili beef box blew me away. From the packaging, to the clear step-by-step instructions, everything felt thoughtfully put together.

The flavors were incredible, crispy, sweet, and deeply aromatic. It honestly tasted like something you would order at a restaurant. And as someone who loves trying new cuisines but prefers staying in, this felt like a trip to Malaysia from the comfort of our home.

I especially loved how easy it was to prepare. No stress, no fancy chef skills. Just bold, authentic flavor and a really fun cooking experience.

Highly recommend for foodies, homebodies, and anyone who wants to travel through their tastebuds. Can’t wait to try another box!

The recipe cards and prep notes were clear and concise. The ingredients were superb quality and beautifully presented. Following the step-by-step guide I was able to learn how to prepare a delicious Japanese meal, using some techniques which had previously been unfamiliar.

Our second Cookaway, as good as the first. We ordered the Spanish Tapas, authentic, delicious fresh ingredients, lovely generous portions. Only personal negative was I found it a lot of prep for one person and would have been better if shared! It took me quite a while to prepare, in fact I shop bought the aoili. Would definitely order again due to overall quality and efficiency of the service provided.

We had a fabulous experience trying to out the Cookaway Greek Meze! Fabulous, fresh, good quality ingredients plus clear instructions and guides. I loved that everything was meticulously measured out for you and the only ingredient I had to add from my own pantry was 1 egg! They also have extra touches like a playlist to set the mood. This was definitely a relaxing and fun experience for my family and it felt so wholesome cooking and then enjoying a delicious meal together. It’s great to try something new and they have so many options from around the world to try! Loved it!

Delivery good. Well packaged. Quality of products excellent (especially the prawns). Instructions excellent.
Only downside (if it was that) was that it says it served two whereas we divided the meals to eat over 2 days and also had to freeze one of the dishes uncooked. Think it should say it served four.

The food tasted lovely and you could tell the ingredients were very good. I didn't realise, when I ordered it, how much preparation was involved including making your own pitta bread - I was exhausted!

Malaysian Chicken Rendang: Delicious and easy and quick to cook. Even better if refrigerated overnight. Read the instructions for the chicken carefully the point at which to add same could be clearer.

We ordered the new Japanese Izakaya Experience box, and it arrived on time and well packaged, with all the necessary ingredients. Despite ordering the 2-3 person size, there was more than enough food and we saved the stir fry for a separate meal. The beef tataki was superb, and the prawns very large and were delicious in the panko breadcrumbs.
The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the Step by Step card allowed for preparation ahead of time.
Will be ordering again.

We tried the Malaysian night market kit. It was fun to cook and even better to eat. Ingredients were of a high-quality. The step-by-step guide was great could perfectly time when each dish had to be prepared and cooked. Loved the Spotify music that was provided. all in all would highly recommend. The food was amazingly tasty.

Great food, great instructions, highly recommend!

I am a vegetarian and tried using their Wellington box, and I was surprised at how good it turned out! The box had literally everything labelled and what makes it better is that it sourced from local farms and recipes are curated by private chefs. My whole family was so impressed with the meal and I cannot recommend them enough! I will be trying out their biryani next and my friends are also already hooked. So glad I tried it out! I was truly missing out. Also no subscriptions so I am not tied down to anything which makes it even better because I am bad at cancelling subs
