Tasty and easy

Ive never had freeze dried food before, and I was surprised how good the cumin club tastes. I will warn some of it is very spicy, but I have been enjoying Indian food for over 20 years. I add alot of frozen veggies to my meals, as its the most delicious way to go vegetarian, even if only occasionally. Its very easy to cook. Sometimes I use my electric teapot to add water, sometimes I use a pan on the stove. Its not hard at all!

Horrible taste and deceptive practice

The food tasted horrible. They are very deceptive in their process. I ordered a single order to test the food. They converted into subscription. Do not fall for this crap. When I tried to cancel the subscription, they took me thru 15 screens before cancelling

Mixed experience

The food tastes good but mostly gravy, very little substance, certainly not a meal for two, and more complicated to rehydrate than some competitors (different instructions for each, some take 5 minutes, some more than 20. And expensive for what you get. I didn’t like that they have new a subscription that I hadn’t requested; that you can’t cancel online; but to be fair, they responded fairly quickly, cancelled the sub and refunded my money.

Love the Flavors, Hate the Scummy Business Tactics

We really like the convenience and the flavors of the food. It seems to be a good product. However, the company's predatory business practices are unacceptable.

I didn't knowingly create a website login or give them permission to store my credit card. I thought was making a one-time purchase - that's the option I chose in the website - but was instead was signed up for a monthly subscription. I had to follow the steps to reset my password, gain access to my account, and then click unsubscribe through 10 different web page popups to cancel the subscription.

It took 3 attempts due to web pages designed to make unsubscribing difficult. The final unsubscribe button is at the bottom of a review form for their products.

NOT WORTH THE PRICE

This company isn't transparent that it is a subscription. It also isn't open about how to end the service.
The food portions are extremely small whilst they claim it would feed 1-2 people.
The taste is basic with no frills. I mean, you might pay more for a takeaway meal but you would be buying freshness, bigger portions and added ingredients not provided in these meal kits. In effect, you are paying less but getting less to begin with.
In my view, the prepared meal wasn't more than a glorified snack. It certainly didn't sacisfy my craving and I had to eat something else to feel full.

Purchased a gift card as a Christmas…

Purchased a gift card as a Christmas gift for my mom for $75 for the cumin club. Claims on their website say to enter the gift card number in the “promo code section bottom right of the checkout screen” there’s NO promo code section only a discount code section and you can’t put gift cards there both my mother and I have written them on how to redeem the gift card with absolutely no response. There’s no phone number to call them,only an email. Extremely unprofessional on my next step will be contacting my credit card company to request a charge back since my mother cannot use her gift card.

No delivery, no refund.

I ordered from them for the first time 3 weeks ago. Food has still not ben delivered. I have told them 3 times now this week to cancel and refund,but they have still not done so as of this writing. I will not be ordering from them again.

Worst Food Ever

Due to disability I've been trying out different cooked foods delivered by post. I came across this company. I wished I'd read the reviews first!
The dehydrated food - ordered 10 items - was varied. I made up the vegetable biryani and aubergine bhartha. No, definitely not my cup of tea. Texture more akin to baby food. I don't enjoy mush in my mouth.

I contacted them to honour the refund guarantee and asking for for advice on how to return the remaining packs. I was surprised these were sent from the USA and the cost would be between £14-£20 by mail - the variation being if you want a signature at the other end. This pissed me off as there was no mention that the refund is dependent on me paying and returning their poor products. A full refund will never be a full refund because of the postage - I'd only get half of my money back.
Please read the reviews - they are genuine. This has been a very disappointing experience....
I've amended my review and given them an extra point only because they've messaged back to say they've issued a full refund - we shall wait and see. Strangely they still say delivery is from India but the return address they gave me was Chicago, USA...

Had to chase up for the refund and it did eventually come through!!

Consistency and communication

I have ordered from cumin club several times. Recently they added a snack box to their website. I ordered once and thought it was good so I decided to order the family box which had 50 items instead of 20 items. The snack box is shipped from India . When I received the box it had 23 items instead of the promised 50 items. I’ve written several times and the response is always “please be patient, we are checking”. This is not the first time this has happened - recently I placed an order for their food packets, which came up 4 items short. After a lot of back and forth chatting, they told me that 2 of the items( listed on their website) was an item they no longer carried. They did not offer an explanation for the other missing 2 items. They did eventually refund, but did not ask if I wanted a refund or to have the other 2 items reshipped.
The cumin club could be a good company but falls short on shipping control, and communication particularly with their company in India .
Due to the frustration of always having to count the items, constantly having to chat and email and having to work to get the missing products sent to me, I will be cancelling my subscription. It should not be this hard to get an item shipped correctly.

Fraud

Tiny packets of dehydrated ingredients, won't honor money back guarantee

The pictures show great "authentic" regional Indian cuisine. The box actually contains tiny packets of all dehydrated ingredients - the site makes no mention of either of these things. There is supposed to be a money-back guarantee. I was so disgusted I didn't use any of them. I informed customer service I wanted a refund and didn't use any of their products, and they refuse to send a shipping label or issue a refund.

I ordered from The Cumin Club and the food is mediocre, at best. When I signed up for a subscription I did not see a way to select the frequency of my subscription. Apparently it defaults to biweekly. You are able to skip a delivery, which I've had to do on several occasions. The FAQ says you can change the frequency of your subscription on the Subscription page, but there is no way to change the frequency. You can change your address and you can change your payment method but not the frequency. So I decided to cancel. I was already signed into my account but the system asked me to sign in again. So I did, and my password wasn't recognized. There's no way to change your password, either. I initiated an online chat and sat for 20+ minutes waiting for a response which didn't come. I used the online form to request my subscription be cancelled. I have no idea if it will happen. There is an email address listed so you can reach them that way. I am beyond displeased with the way this company operates, and if this is their idea of a successful business model, I suggest they think again.

Worst experience

I placed an order for a package on January 1st, 2025, paid $120 for my meals its January 18th, 2025, with no package received. Not only did they lose my order, but when I asked for a refund, they promised to resend the shipment and they used the same UPS tracking id for reshipment which was already lost in the first place. This is beyond frustrating – worst experience ever, and I will never order from here again

Ordered a shipment

Ordered a shipment, it never arrived and icing on the cake they refuse to acknowledge the mistake. I even mailed them the UPS receipt. Worse customer support ever.

VERY DISHONEST COMPANY

. I placed an order with this company. Waited over two weeks for an item to restock. Setup a subscription and waited. They sent me someone else's order. It took them days to send me a return label and they promised to send the correct order. Here we are over a month later and they refunded my money silently without even fulfilling their promise.
