Mary Kristen is exceptional…

Mary Kristen Galanos is an exceptional attorney, and I recommend her and her firm without hesitation. Her experience, intelligence, judgment, and ability to think several steps ahead were invaluable throughout one of the most complicated periods of my life. It is easy to understand why she is so highly sought after. Mary Kristen has assembled an outstanding team of knowledgeable and capable professionals. Her experienced paralegals manage much of the daily communication, document preparation, scheduling, and case coordination, helping clients receive responsive support without unnecessarily incurring attorney rates for work that does not require an attorney. Charleigh Coleman was the paralegal assigned to my case, and she was truly exceptional. She took a genuine interest in my situation, understood what was happening at every stage, remained organized and prepared, and consistently kept the case moving forward. She is an extremely talented professional and was an invaluable part of my experience with the firm. The firm’s addition of attorney Margaret further reflects Mary Kristen’s commitment to surrounding her clients with talented professionals. Margaret is exceptionally thorough and approaches sensitive matters with patience, tact, and careful attention to detail. Her ability to address difficult issues thoughtfully and respectfully makes her a tremendous asset to both the firm and its clients. My divorce and custody case was anything but ordinary. It developed into a highly contentious and unusually complex matter involving interstate child custody jurisdiction, UCCJEA proceedings, communication between courts in different states, criminal matters arising during the divorce, repeated allegations, and the many financial and custody issues associated with a contested divorce. At various points, litigation was occurring on several fronts at once. Although Mary Kristen’s office is located in downtown Mobile and my case was in Baldwin County, that was never a disadvantage. She understood the local court system, recognized the significance of every issue, and knew how to navigate an extraordinarily complicated case with confidence and precision. Mary Kristen also demonstrated remarkable professionalism, patience, grace, and perseverance. There were times when the emotional strain of the case affected my perspective or when decisions I made complicated an already difficult situation. She handled every challenge thoughtfully and remained focused on protecting my interests and achieving the best possible outcome. I came to understand that when Mary Kristen offered advice, she had carefully considered not only the immediate issue but also the consequences several steps ahead. One of the qualities I respected most was her honesty. She never simply told me what I wanted to hear. She gave me candid assessments, explained the risks and benefits of each option, and told me when she believed a particular course of action was or was not in my best interest. I always felt that her priority was reaching the right outcome, not prolonging litigation or generating unnecessary legal fees. Near the end of my case, she recommended a course of action that ultimately reduced the amount of additional legal work I would need from her. That spoke volumes about her integrity and her commitment to doing what was best for her client. My case ultimately concluded with a settlement after approximately two years of litigation. During that time, I filed for divorce twice within the same marriage after an attempted reconciliation failed, leaving Mary Kristen and her team to manage an unusually complicated history and an enormous number of moving parts. Through it all, they remained prepared, professional, strategic, and steadfast. Family law cases, particularly difficult custody cases, can become intensely emotional, making it easy for a client to lose perspective. What you need in that situation is an attorney who can separate emotion from strategy, tell you the truth even when it is difficult to hear, anticipate the consequences of each decision, and remain focused on what matters most. Mary Kristen did all of that for me. If you are seeking an attorney who is intelligent, experienced, strategic, straightforward, thoroughly prepared, and supported by an excellent team, I strongly recommend Mary Kristen Galanos and her firm. After everything my case involved, I remain deeply grateful that she was the attorney representing me.

RUN!!! Anywhere else...but Run!

All I wanted was basically to clear my name as much as possible, so I could attain my ministry credentials after my wife's affair, her self-admitted decades of abuse and religious persecution and now divorce. People in church circles tend to frown on frivolous divorces.
During the initial consultation, it felt more like a conversation with warmth and information... afterward it became a gradual nightmare.
My wife personally wrote 25-30 pages confessing what she had done in our marriage in great detail.
It was rightly called "incriminating" in the initial consultation with Mary Kristen.
One of my wife's confessions is literally the breakdown of our marriage is 100% her fault, among other confessions of tricking me into marriage, admissions of abuse and neglect, persecution, and admitting to continually playing the victim (while being the abuser) to avoid personal responsibility.
In forensics, it would be the equivalent of finding a murder confession tacked to the victim with the actual murder weapon saying, "I did it!" and then listing the exact reasons and motives. That wouldn't be too much of a mystery even for Scooby Doo.
After the initial consultation, I was handed over to someone, who never wished to discuss the evidence of what my wife had confessed to in detail by her own hand over the course of several years.
As someone wanting to acquire their ministry credentials and went for help with the smoking gun still smoking...everything was treated like some cold calculating math problem instead of anything remotely personal or human.
I was told that 25-30 pages of personal letters from my wife were "incriminating" during the initial consultation and then after I was passed to someone I didn't know...thereafter... the overwhelming amount of supporting evidence, with literal confessions were treated as inconsequential.
After I told the person assigned to me that I had no trust in her - after our last meeting where I had given numbers to the points that I wanted to discuss (trying to nail her feet to the fire after previous attempts for simple coherent answers during our previous discussion and emails), with one of them being the vast amount of evidence that the failure of our marriage wasn't my fault....and once again, actual supporting evidence written by the person who defrauded me into marriage, persecuted me for being a Christian, abused and neglected me to get a "high" and feel "peace" for hurting me...with all this written down by my wife's own hand...and the attorney assigned to me simply brushed it under the rug again during our last overpriced session.
RUN!!! If you are needing genuine help instead of something that you could have gotten for free from legal services in your town...RUN!!!
I needed someone to fight for my name, so I could attain my ministry credentials based on the truth of what happened in our marriage, instead I was passed to a passive aggressive person who refused to even look at the evidence. Nothing about one email or phone call let me know that this person had actually looked at the vast body of evidence. The reason I chose this attorney was because the evidence for what happened in my marriage was deemed incriminating. Now I'm receiving overpriced bills when nothing has been done to clear my name so I can have a future and acquire my ministry credentials. Zero. How often does someone have such extensive evidence from the person who tricked them into marriage under false pretenses, abused and neglected them to get a "high", and even persecuted them in the very exact words of the persecutor?
I gave all the money I had to get help, and I was ignored, condescended to, and I'm getting exorbitant bills...and nothing at all has been done to clear my name so it won't hurt my future in ministry.
RUN!!! Don't live the nightmare that I have these last two months, after surviving 21 years of abuse, and seeking help, to being passive aggressively treated like the problem, while going through one of the most difficult and painful times of anyone's life...the death of a marriage. RUN!!! Now I’ll probably ending up fighting with the person whom I hired to fight “for” me, or they’ll resort to “fighting” me in the comments or replies to my review…instead of putting any of that “fight” into helping someone with extensive evidence of abuse and marital fraud who needed their help. RUN!!!
