I had the pleasure of attending the British school of beauty and barbering today and completed the clipper and blending course with the fabulous Georgia, who was so patient and supportive throughout, she has an excellent way of explaining each step of the process that makes it easy to watch and repeat until a technique is learned, she then calmly observes you while you practice and has a way of correcting while still offering praise which is so encouraging.
Before arriving I was sent a questionnaire to ascertain my current experience and skill level, I was asked about my learning style and offered a verity of options before selecting a visual learning technique, Georgia then created a plan for the day complete with an itinerary based on my learning style and current competency, which was great as I knew exactly what to expect before I arrived. I was able to watch a live demonstration and then was guided through my first haircut with constant supervision and support, I completed two more haircuts including a child model as Georgia knew cutting my sons hair was my goal and so was thoughtful enough to preplan this for me which I really appreciate, and by the third haircut I was able to complete the fade with little to no supervision and the confidence to complete the cut! Before coming to the British school of beauty and barbering I had little to no experience and needed to learn how to use clippers to cut my sons hair as he has ASD and will not attend a barbers, I now feel confident to use clippers on anyone’s hair and am so excited to practice more! I have realised that this is a something I really enjoy and plan on attending the three day CPD Approved Understanding Barbering course to become certified very soon!

I’ve had a truly wonderful experience with Nikki. As a mature learner, it was important to me to have a relaxed and personalised experience. At the age of 42, I decided I wanted to learn a new skillset after being in the same career for over 20 years.
Nikki has a very nurturing, calming and patient approach , as well as a calming environment to learn.
I am based in Scotland and happily travelled down each month to receive quality, well paced learning.
I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking to embark on a barbering career in a personalised, calm and relaxed environment.

Nikki my barbering tutor has been so informative from start to finish with my course. She trained me a couple of years ago and I now run a successful barbering column at a barber shop on a self employed basis. This training academy gave me all the basic fundamentals to cutting hair . I really enjoyed the course and found they were on hand to help with any difficulties I had. The online training portal is also great to refer back too even now as I have lifetime access.
