For the tourists, possibly?
London traffic, pot holes, road works, diversions, protests, 20mph speed limits, expanding pavements, closed-off residential streets, LEZ and ULEZ zones, forced priority for ‘own the road’ cyclists…..
…..You are better off walking.
You sit there watching the meter rise and rise while you have travelled less than 30 feet and are nowhere near your destination.
You see the driver entirely relaxed about this total lack of progress.
You watch as he takes the scenic route. And gets stroppy if you object. And visibly irked that he wasn’t tipped.
We timed it: it is now quicker to get from Paddington home on the tube by 14 minutes! Imagine that! And at a quiet time of day, not at rush hour.
And, after all that, you think: NEVER AGAIN.
