Hi Alexander,
We’re sorry to hear about your disappointment. We want to clarify a few important points transparently.
As per our Terms of Service – Section 3.4, VPS accounts that sustain over 90% resource usage (CPU, bandwidth, or connection tracking entries) for prolonged periods may be temporarily suspended to protect the stability of our infrastructure and other clients hosted on the same node.
In your case, our monitoring system (netdata) detected abnormal levels of connection tracking entries, reaching over 1800 concurrent flows. This significantly burdened the node, risking service quality for others. This wasn’t about CPU usage alone – it was a networking-level concern impacting shared infrastructure.
Please note:
This action was not an upsell tactic.
You were never charged for anything beyond your existing plan.
We would have gladly offered a custom solution or dedicated server better suited to your usage pattern, had you reached out.
We truly value transparency, and we’re sorry to see you go. If you ever choose to return, we’d be happy to assist with a setup tailored to your project needs.
Best regards,
TheOnionHost Team
