I'm going to tell you a story about how to make money—this is how a vet clinic in Luton operates.

The first examination didn't show anything, so we paid over £100 and went home. But we had to go back the very next day because things were bad. The doctor claimed there was a dark spot visible in the images, and unfortunately, he didn't know what it was. We had to decide whether to operate or not. We agreed to the surgery on the same day for a cost of over £1700.

After the surgery, we were told they had opened the stomach and found some blockages (or "residue")—he couldn't explain what it was??? We were told to take the dog home because the doctor said everything would be fine now, and that the dog could drink and eat if it felt like it.

Unfortunately, staying up all night didn't help. The dog only peed; it didn't want to take any water or food. In the morning, we went for a check-up, and there was a different doctor—a lady who spoke poor, broken English. She said that she had to keep the dog, give it fluids and medication, and try to feed it. When we asked about the old medication we were given, she said we should continue giving it once the dog returns home. We asked how long this would last, and she said she didn't know, but she did know that leaving the dog there would cost £250. She added that she couldn't guarantee the dog would recover.

We have already spent over £3000 and we don't know what to do next. Do you see how they make money?! I do not recommend this business unless you want to declare bankruptcy. Life teaches us lessons, yet we keep falling for their traps. The only thing left to do is to give the rest of the money to a lawyer and bankrupt this clinic! At least they won't steal from people anymore!

P.S. I should add that the doctor also informed us that they could not do anything more and that if nothing helped, we would have to take the dog to a specialist clinic!

So what's going on? They've already made their money; now let their colleagues make some too—GREAT, ISN'T IT!

If I could give my experience minus…

If I could give my experience minus stars I would.
My dog , my friend my buddy died yesterday with the help of the Blue Cross and another vets practice whose care and compassion was off the scale .

I have always taken my animals to this practice . I have always paid my bills. I started when this vets was Ng & Harding ( wonderful vets who put animals first)

My dog was registered with this practice , he was 15 .
He recently became ill and I made enquiries regarding appointments and cost . The receptionist told me in the harshest way
We will not see your dog if you cannot pay
If we think you cannot pay we will ask you for payment upfront
We do not do payment plans
In no uncertain terms I was told if your dog is in pain , suffering & needs to be put to sleep we will not do it . You will have to ring around other practices and see if they offer services different to ours
I did take him for one appointment
I paid £80 for a short examination some antibiotics & painkillers
The treatment available went up
In scale with how much money I had in my pocket at that particular point
A practice who clearly do not put animals first. Their priority is money , greed and too bad if you are struggling .
They do not even engage with animal charities who will pay on your behalf
This vets practice are now a sad reflection of how society has become . Heartless.
So different to how it used to be

Everything I have said here is true

Just to say before you judge, people’s situations change & god forbid if you find yourself in the same set of circumstances with a vets practice making a difficult situation immeasurably worse.

Great service

I returned from work Halloween evening to find my beloved dog extremely poorly. I rang straight away and was told to come down as quickly as possible.
Once there Chris ( who I've seen a number of times before with my other jack russell), came out of one of the rooms ,saw us in the waiting room and immediately said he'd see my dog although he had other appointments. Sadly there was only one ending to our situation but he made it as easy and as comfortable for my dear boy as was possible with great compassion and empathy. Thank you yet again Chris for your professionalism and your humanity.You are a credit to that practice and I hope they realise just how special you are.

If I could put no stars I would

If I could put no stars I would, took my 10 month cat to be spayed a week later she is at the vet hospital having to be put to sleep, as when they spay they ask you to send a photo of the area instead of a face to face visit this was not picked up but would have been if she went in for a check instead of having to send a photo. When I called to tell them what had happed as advised to buy the vet hospital they did not give any apologies they also told me to have a nice day my cat was put to sleep 3 hours before my call so that was showing no compassion whatsoever. I was told they would call me but I had to consent to them getting info from vet hospital and the vet hospital send everything to them anyway I'm still waiting for this call 3 days later . Really disappointed and disgusted by the way this has been handled, well lack of as they haven't even offered an apology, and had no empathy on the phone whatsoever. Meant to be vets that care in this case definitely not.

My cat went in with a UTI and it ended…

My cat went in this clinin in Leighton Buzzard with a UTI and it ended up costing nearly £1,100. I was asked to pay a further £90 by the vet removing the catheter in order to 'save their hands' at the very end. My cat came home with endless & in my view pointless medication, relaxants both tablet & powder form along with Diazepam. My poor cat was in a bad way all week still unable to urinate and blood coming out when he did his other business. I rang this vet to say he's coming back in and as far as I was concerned a follow up for the work's they had carried out but that was going to cost me a further £26 consultancy. Visited another vet £300 2 night stay and antibiotics and he's better than ever. Stay clear Vet Clinic it's all about the add on to rack up the bill. I was close to letting my cat go after they had treated him thinking this was more serious than it was. I will never recommend this practice to anyone.

Visited for the first time in early…

Visited for the first time in early October 21 looking for some medicated shampoo and ended up with a bill of £270.00!! I have never been ripped off so blatantly in a lifetime of using vets. This also is the first time I have ever posted a review.
