I bought a packet of tomato seed. There were only five seeds in a packet that cost €5.50. Only two germinated. Other varieties sown from older seed planted the same time and in the same seed compost germinated well. I complained and was told they would send me a replacement packet of seed. They then reneged a week later saying they couldn’t ship to Ireland. Very poor customer service relating to a product that was an expensive dud.

I gave Thompson & Morgan another chance after a poor experience a few years ago. Nothing has improved.
Several varieties showed very poor or no germination at all, and others only started to come through after around 14 days, which clearly points to old or poorly stored seed. Some simply never came up.
One of the packets was packed in 2024, which is hard to justify from a quality point of view.
This isn’t about the money - it’s wasted time and a basic lack of quality control.
I won’t be buying from them again.

Because I can’t give no star!
Ordered seeds,didn’t arrive after two weeks. Reordered,same thing happened. Told by woman on phone Royal Mail can have them for up to 10 working days! Cancelled with her, asked for refund inc postage. Refund arrived….minus p&p. Have now had to ring a third time to have this sorted. Three e mails on the subject were ignored. All for 5 packets of seed.
If I had ordered live plants, what condition would they have been in on delivery?!
None of the phone people seemed terribly concerned even though they were polite.
Amazon delivered within 24 hours. Won’t be using T&M again

Terrible company. If I could rate this company -5 I would.
I bought 100 mixed yellow, purple and white crocus bulbs from them and after planting them only purple and white flowers came up - no yellow. And the purple and white bulbs that did come up just flopped over or broke off.
They claim to date that they have refunded me so I hope they manage to do that. They have ignored my pleas for significant compensation.
Don’t shop there. Shop elsewhere. Don’t be seduced by their promotional images and daily emails offering their products.

I ordered 2 hanging baskets with postage worked out at 11 a basket. 8 inch plastic pot and about 2-3 cheap spindly flowers. Absolute rubbish save your money. Never using them again.

This is not a packet of dog food these are living plants needing potting on, water and light and air. You're a bunch of idiots better fit to selling pet food not plant supplies.

Diseased blackcurrant bushes
I bought two blackcurrant bushes. On arrival, both were clearly diseased - leaf spot. This was not a subtle case of disease. I contacted customer service. The responses were very slow but after multiple back and forth, including photos from me, they sent a replacement for ONE of the bushes, which is also diseased!! I sent further photos and have now been told I can have a refund if I return the bushes AT MY OWN COST.

Bought some plants in May. They took until 31 August to arrive when they were basically dead. Never again.

Very long waiting time to receive plants - February until August. Plants finally arrived after being stuck in the back of a Yodel van over the weekend, although advised Saturday delivery. Disappointed with size and quality. Would not have bought these if I'd seen them in a garden centre. Sick of spam emails from Thompson and Morgan, which I will again attempt to get rid of. Will avoid using them in future.

Seems like a good deal, but large postage costs and slow delivery means actually I would avoid in future. They also send a huge number of spam emails and haven't removed me from their mailing list even though I have unsubscribed.

Since placing an order with Thomas Morgan I have been inundated with emails. I have done everything to stop it but I keep getting them in spam....I would NEVER deal with this company again, not even if they were giving plants away free!!!!

Hoping the plants will be worth the wait... Although I suspect Summer will be over before I receive them! No updates - tried contacting Customer Service and no response. Won't be buying from TM again :-(

Usually I don't have a problem always had good delivery and good plants. But I have 2 outstanding orders one from 30th of April and one from 30th of May that still haven't arrived, no update and only e mail from customer care tells me they are busy !!! Not sure i will be using them again unfortunately.
£35 for a dead tree
Ordered a Cob tree from T&M and and a couple of blueberries, Cob came bare root in a plastic bag which I potted up straight away. 3 months on the tree has done absolutely nothing. No buds no leaves……….Totally dead!
Contacted T&M about this, they never got back to me. £35 for a dead twig. Terrible plants and even worse service!

I have just received 130 non-stop begonias for my baskets . I ordered garden ready , and really thought I should leave a review as this is the first time I have used Thompson & Morgan.

Completely ignore my complaint
For several years I have bought pre-planted hanging baskets from T&M. I'm generally happy with the quality of the plants but it is the delivery by Yodel that is the problem recently. I was away but they ignored my redirection instructions. My neighbour opened the box for me and found that the basket was on its side and the contents lying in the box. Yodel's comment was 'sorry, we will try better next time'!
As for T&M, they are usually quite good at making refunds to customers who contact them This year, however, I have twice asked for a refund. I have had no acknowledgement and certainly no refund. Why should I continue to waste money on plants that are not usable when they arrive.
Got the 72 plugs offer £4.99 plus £6.99…
Got the 72 plugs offer £4.99 plus £6.99 postage. Delivery only a few days later. It arrived in a thick paper wrapper with tiny plugs in a plastic tray. The size meant the postie shoved it into letterbox so some got squished by the flap but, I got them out immediately at stood them in a foil tray with water. You then play spot the variety as the packaging not very clear. I got 6 of most, 12 foxgloves and doronicum, 18 dianthus. Bought previously and know they need ongoing nurturing by potting on to full size. The delphiniums, not holding my breath. They are all viable plugs but some are tougher than others. Expect to take 2 years to maturity. That's why mature plants are expensive! Overall happy. They need to use cardboard and not paper to pack!

Received an email saying it would arrive on 09.06.25, These plants need planting at the end of May.
I received an email saying the plants I payed £25 for were now being sold for £9.
I made contact by phone and was told I could have this reduction, but the change of order would put my order to the back of the queue and the new date for delivery would now be 23.06.25 after these plants should be planted. Subsequently I cancelled my order.
This is the first and last time I will use this company.I ordered 3 plants one for myself the other 2 were for 2 87yr old relatives who do not have Internet access to order for themselves.
