Appaling service

Booked a 2 tonne skip a week in advance, as I had three days off and wanted to have a clear out. Waited till 10:00 and then rang to find out a rough time for the skip. Was told that it hadn't been allocated to a driver yet and would I like the driver to give me a ring when the skip had been allocated and he/she was near. Said yes please and waited. 11:30, still no skip or phone call. Rang again to be told it had been allocated, the driver had one job before me and should be there by 13:00 hours. Again waited, no skip and no phone call. Rang back at 13:00 hours, same story; driver should be with you anytime. Said I would give them till 13:30 then if not here, would cancel for a full refund. Waiting for the money to hit back in my bank. Appaling service and the customer service team didn't even seem to care. If I would have wanted a skip for the day after, I would have ordered it for the day after. Complete waste of my day.

Good experience with skip hire.

We had two skips delivered to our property, the delivery driver took great care to position the skips to cause minimal disruption to us, and both he and the collection driver took every precaution to ensure there was no damage to our property. We would not hesitate to recommend skip hire from their company.

Great friendly service

What a friendly helpful team of people. I ordered a skip online, only for my contractor to decide he needed a bigger skip. Rang Thorncliffe the following morning, explained the issue and without any complaints or moans they changed the order.
Every time I use this firm their service from office to delivery is excellent and friendly and their prices are always competitive.
Thank you once again.

Excellent service

Office staff always efficient and friendly. Drivers courteous and turn up when they say. What more could you want? This is a great company for anyone in construction, we use them again and again. Sensibly priced too.

A disgrace

Started off as a fantastic alternative to ASH and came highly recommended by family but proved to be much worse.
If you want to do the hoki koki with your bins then this is the service for you.
From being overcharged and hounded for payment when they failed to send an actual invoice to begin with and asked why they hadn't been paid ( but went on to blame me for that) then having discrepancies ignored (when they didn't feel like collecting on a bank holiday...fair enough but don't charge me for it...twice )to cancelled collections every week with various excuses for the last 2 weeks of their 'service' but still charged and charged twice again! Then blamed for that too 🤣
The accounts department are the most incompetent I've ever dealt with and knowing my husband was ill, they have made the last few months pure hell chasing £70 then £180 and back to £70.
Their director has called me from random mobile phones 'dog the bounty hunter style' to chase payment as have their admin team which is quite frankly hilarious.
As a result of having to close down our business mainly due to having no waste carrier and having to move our waste ourselves plus trips backwards and forwards to take bins in and out, (bins they denied we had, had to take photos of them to get them removed) 🤣they owe us far more for our wasted time. With my husband being so poorly this was truly the worst time of our lives and they've treated us like scum.
I don't like spending all day trying to sort someone else's mistakes via email on top of everything, this company is truly appalling. Stick with ASH. At least they will send a credit for missed payments.Even if they charge you for random stuff, eventually they will sort it out.
Thorncliffe however have tried my patience to the end. Honestly. What a Nightmare, no wonder their profits are so high as they charge everyone at least twice! But why they'd spend so long chasing a small balance is farcical and makes no sense.
Thanks for turning a simple service into a drama.
And if you threaten me with court one more time...be prepared for a counter claim in its entirety. I'm getting fed up of you now.

Skip hire

Ive had a few skips delivered from Thorncliffe over the last year and plasterboards etc as I am having a house renovation.
I have had very good service with no issues or problems.
All the staff I have spoken to have been very helpful, polite and friendly.
I would highly recommend them. Everything has been delived on time, very good reliable company.

Extremely Disappointed with Thornclif’s Service and Attitude

I’ve been a regular customer of Thornclif, ordering 47kg gas bottle deliveries for my catering business at least twice a month for several months. Unfortunately, my recent experience has been deeply disappointing.

During the last delivery, I noticed the gas bottle seemed unusually light and that the valve was already open upon inspection. It was unclear whether it was delivered this way or left open by the delivery person, but it certainly raised concerns.

When I called to place the next order and mentioned the issue, the customer service response was shocking. The lady on the phone dismissed my concern outright, claiming they “never deliver half bottles,” and then abruptly ended the call before we had finished speaking. I called again, hoping to speak to someone more helpful, but the man who answered showed the same lack of interest, refused to address the issue, and also disconnected the line when I asked to speak to a manager.

Eventually, I received a call from someone who I assume was a manager. Unfortunately, instead of listening and trying to resolve the issue, he reiterated the same scripted response and told me they would no longer deliver to my business. He refunded my latest payment, paid for the next delivery, but failed to address what had actually happened with the previous delivery.

This experience was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. I had even been considering using Thornclif for additional services, such as skip hire, but will now be taking my business elsewhere. I cannot recommend Thornclif to anyone who values customer service or accountability.

Excellent service

Excellent service. Staff are polite, efficient and professional. Our skip was delivered and picked up on time. Evey care was taken to not damage any of our property. Highly recommend the skip hire. Will use again. Thank you.

NO RESPECT

I personally didn't hire a skip, but as a neighbour from the area where it was placed, I’ve never witnessed such a lack of respect from a company.

On two occasions, the driver damaged a neighbour’s conifer hedge and had the remains stuck to his vehicle. He then offloaded the debris outside my property, fully aware of what he was doing. Despite this, no one from the company was sent out to clean up the mess. After myself calling the company numerous times. This was all caught on my home CCTV

It took nearly a week for me to receive a response via email, and the level of customer care has been nothing short of a shambles. There was no regard shown for the surrounding homes or the people living nearby.

Think twice before using this company—they clearly have no respect for their customers or the community.

Considerate service!

It is always a pleasure to give positive fedback when somebody has made an effort to please. A driver dilivered a mini-skip this morning (Colwyn Bay) and seemed genuinely concerned about leaving it in the best place from my point of view. A gentleman!

Unfortunately my dad took ill so rang up to change the day of delivery. Guy I spoke to was very helpful. Next day around 9pm order arrived. Driver was very polite and helpful placing the bags exactly where I wanted them. Product was as per described and my footway now looks excellent. Used this firm many times and they have never disappointed.

Thorncliffe lawn mower repairs.
I have to share my experience getting my mower serviced.
It has taken nearly 2 months..
I phoned the workshop several times trying to get feed back on the repairs.
Every person I spoke to said they would check and call me back.No one ever did.
A complete shambles from start to finish
I would strongly advise to look else where.
