Quick easy to order and delivery time…
Quick easy to order and delivery time was fast
Lack of care, poor organisation, go with a different company if possible
Not satisfied overall with how we were all treated by this company. I'm honestly very disappointed after being so excited for the challenge!
I've done a few hiking ultra marathons and other similar challenges so it's not my first experience. I'll highlight what I honestly think needs to be improved:
• A minivan is not acceptable transport for this kind of challenge. The hikers need space to stretch and sleep if needed, and we were in this minivan for nearly 20 hours by the time we got to Chester. What stung even more was that the majority of the group travelled by coach, and the rest were packed in like sardines onto a minivan. Invest in another coach please!
• Communication is essential. Please let the hikers know any changes to the planned itinerary. We were sent a PDF document with an outline of the day via email, with plans for how long the travel should take, plans for several rest stops, a free breakfast included, etc. On the actual day: no breakfast was provided, we stopped only ONCE for food and a toilet break, and due to road closures and alternate routes the travelling took much, MUCH longer than expected. The journey from Scafell Pike to Snowdon took around 7 hours instead of 4 and no announcements were made on this change (on the minivan, not sure about the coach). We were told the main thing we needed to keep to was 5 hours for Ben Nevis, 4 hours for Scafell Pike, and 4 hours for Snowdon. The travelling was out of our hands, but we still arrived late everywhere regardless with no information being given to us throughout.
It is very dangerous to give hikers incorrect information about their opportunities to recover and refuel, if the itinerary states a free meal is given and SEVERAL stops will be made during the journey, you have to deliver on that no matter what. People who push themselves on this challenge with little chance to get food, use the loo, given no room to stretch or sleep for hours or end... this won't be an accurate reflection of their capability because their chances to recover are being hindered, and more likely to injure themselves on this challenge.
• Demonstrate some care towards the hikers. No one signs up for this kind of challenge expecting to be pampered, but I really felt the disdain and lack of care towards us. With the exception of our drivers Nicky and Pete, all other staff guides showed little enthusiasm or encouragement towards us. We were rushed everywhere, rushed into and out of the coach and van, rushed during our ONE rest stop, rushed to get ready to climb, they didn't care if we stretched before or after- they just didn't check up on us at all. I understand it is a timed challenge but we were late everywhere due to travel regardless! We were over the 24 hour mark by the time we arrived in Snowdon, so an extra 5 mins to stretch and prepare isn't asking much!
The hikers who signed up all shared food, took care of each other, listened and encouraged each other along- but from the guides? Nothing. Seemed arrogant and like they wanted you to fail the challenge, I've seen much more enthusiasm from other professional hikers and shocked at the attitude.
Unclear site
It was a challenge to navigate the site and unclear how to register (I unintentionally ended up buying certificates ) …..probably due to the fact I was tired when I went on the site as we’d completed the 3 peaks
What an awesome weekend!
What an awesome weekend completing the national three peaks in three days .
The guides Shaun, Tracey and Gary were very knowledgeable, supportive and motivational.
With Pete and Nicky adding support between each mountain , both with equal good humour and knowledge it all ran smoothly.
There was 21 in our group and although most of us were strangers , we all got on really well and kept each other going throughout.
Shaun the lead guide was very funny , had great stories to tell and a pleasure to have led us through this adventure of a lifetime.
Just one thing , if Shaun says it’s only 23mins to go , you might want to add a bit 🤔😂😂😂
Can’t wait to organise another challenge with them next year
Fantastic weekend! ⛰️
Just got back from the National Three Peaks in Three Days Challenge, what an amazing experience! Couldn’t have chosen a better company. All guides and staff were LOVELY and had a great sense of humour to help us through. Very understanding of any struggles/injuries, gave realistic advice whilst still being incredibly supportive. Huge thank you to Tracy - I had a wobble on Ben Nevis and without her fantastic attitude and support, I don’t think I’d have made it to the summit. Shaun on Snowdon was fantastic despite me being injured. Hearing all his achievements, stories and facts about the mountain on the descent definitely helped me through! Peter (former guide, now coach driver) has a wealth of knowledge and some amazing accomplishments of his own, so even if you have to sit a hike out for any reason, he provides superb entertainment! Driver Nikki was also great and ensured we were all fed, watered and looked after. 10/10 would recommend - we will be returning for another challenge next year! ⛰️
Unforgettable
I have just completed the Three Peaks in Three days. I was very anxious before starting, but the team are very down to earth & put me at ease straight away! I had the most fantastic experience living in the moment & being able to enjoy the beauty that the three peaks have to offer.
The support from the team was fantastic throughout & lots of banter to join in with & enjoy. Our team consisted of Shaun, Tracey, Gary, Peter & Nicky who guided us, supported us, rallied us, drove us, keep us fed & watered.
Huge shout out to Shaun, who's very good at reading people & is able to support their needs without having to be asked. I definitely couldn't have done it without you, your knowledge of the tracks & peaks is top notch & interesting, I learnt alot this weekend! I would highly recommend, this company & doing the Three Peaks over 3 days to be able to enjoy this unforgettable experience:-)
Fantastic
Absolutely brilliant experience doing the Three Peaks over Three Days with this company. Great guides who catered for all with the right level of support and good humour.
We had a team consisting of Shaun, Gary, Tracey, Peter and Nicky and I can’t thank them enough for a truly unforgettable weekend in the beautiful mountains.
Well organised and great guide!
Very well organised and a very knowledgeable and friendly guide for our group! Dave Town was brilliant, helped the group throughout the whole day! I couldn’t imagine giving this challenge a go without the help of a guide for your group! Thank you for a great experience!
We completed the 3 peaks challenge…
We completed the 3 peaks challenge yesterday with our leader Dave. We decided to go for a group led walk as we didn’t want to get lost but also have that extra support in case of difficulty. Everything was organised really well from checking in, to completing the walk. Dave was really knowledgeable about the area and led the walk at a good pace so we came in at a good time. Dave’s passion for fitness and the great outdoors was very admirable! Would 100% recommend! Thanks for a great day
Great day on the Yorkshire 3 peaks
Had a great day completing the Yorkshire 3 peaks. Everything was so well organised, structured and thorough. Dave was our guide - he was helpful, informative and made sure the group were all ok throughout. If anyone needed to move between groups due to pace then it was possible to do so. Dave set a good pace and kept us informed on where we were heading next and how long it would approximately take. Would definitely use this company again.
Good experience, for me.
Challenge - Yorkshire 3 Peaks (26/07/25).
I enjoyed this challenge, a lot. I completed it in 9.56mins. Everyone in my group completed the challenge between 9.42 and 10.45. Our guide was good (for us). But, and it’s a big but, I am the prime consumer for this challenge, youngish, fit, motivated, trained. If you can keep pace with the guide then you’re golden and you’ll have a good time. If not, then your experience will be worse, no doubt. There isn’t much empathy shown for slower walkers. I saw two lads be turned around 20 mins into the walk for not keeping pace. It was heartbreaking to watch. The start pace seemed unnecessarily quick to me. I don’t think it is the guides fault, it seems to be the culture of the company. Start fast, weed out slow walkers, cut them loose. They simply need to change the messaging to customers to something like- ‘Do not try this challenge unless you are REALLY fit. If you cannot keep pace with the group leader you will be turned around’. Less people might book, but it would be a truer reflection of reality. All that being said, I probably would book another challenge with this company.
Absolutely brilliant …
Had an absolutely brilliant time with Steve, Nicky and Russ. They had perfect blend of support, whilst also pushing us forward to make the challenge on schedule. The coach had lots of space, and they are genuine experts, giving quality advice on how best to prepare and complete the challenge. Thank you!
Comprehensive map
Comprehensive map. Essential for completing 3 Peaks Challenge. Promptly delivered.
Some important points to think about before booking.
Passing on this information in case it helps others decide who to go with.
The group sizes for this tour are large - 40+ people and two buses at max capacity. This meant: 1) we were split into fairly large groups (10+) meaning that the slowest in that group had to keep up with the fastest. This puts quite a bit of pressure on those at the back of the groups and meant that my sister and I were at the back of the second group descending Scaffell Pike at the end and rather than waiting at the last juncture, the guide went ahead with the other group so we ended up taking a wrong turn in the dark. This wasn't acknowledged other than when we worked it out ourselves and doubled back (after about 10 minutes going in the wrong direction, the person signing us in asked if we were the ones that went the wrong way and said they had been ‘looking for us’ - we encountered no one on the other side and there was no one at the junction when we came back up). It would have been nice if someone had apologised for this but no one did. The whole experience would be better with less people per group / more guides.
The fact the bus was crammed to capacity meant there was no space on the bus to dry out wet gear or spread out at all.
I personally could have done with more encouragement from the guides - at times it felt like we were being told off rather than helped. I also made the mistake of mentioning a twinge in my knee to my guide on the way down Scafell Pike and was offered knee support, which I took. I was then told I couldn’t complete the challenge by doing the last mountain. As an adult faced with a public footpath I would have valued being advised about the risk and consequences and given the choice, rather than being told I didn’t have one.
In general it would have been nice if there had been spare equipment (eg poles, spare head torches and batteries) and more medical kit (apparently they don’t carry ice packs or proper knee supports).
Also - there is no hot breakfast despite what is on the information forms sent out.
If you just want a bus to get you across to the various mountains and are really quick and confident and ok on poor / zero sleep in the van you will probably be fine. If I was choosing again I would be looking for more comfortable transportation which gives a decent chance of sleeping and much smaller group sizes.
Just completed the Oggy 8 with Three…
Just completed the Oggy 8 with Three Peaks Challenge where Nathan was our guide. I massively underestimated how difficult this hike was to a non-pro like myself, and without Nathans optimism and drive he got us through it, achieving all 8 summits. So many times I almost threw the towel in, but with Nathan's encouragement we all got through. Nathan is a real pro (and a really nice bloke), that was clear, and I would highly recommend his services to anyone 👍. Thankyou Nathan, and thankyou to Three Peaks Challenge - highly recommend!!
Best day ever
Best day ever. Event was meticulously organised. Guide Martin was lovely, down to earth caring and committed to his responsibility to keep us all safe and to get us in within the 12 hrs ( we did it in 10) He was warm and bubbly and got the whole team to bond. Tea and cake stop was great. Certificate at the end a lovely touch.
Really informative
Three Peaks Challenge -A Team
Three Peaks Challenge delivered a professional, safe, well planned and executed event for the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge we undertook on Saturday 3rd May 2025. Pre event the joining instructions were clear and covered off training and kit requirements and more information about the challenge itself. On the day we got underway quickly and Steve and his team were very informative at the start. Big shout out to our guide who we had from the bottom of the first ascent to the final summit-Martin Singh, he was such a warm personality, clearly exceptionally experienced and kept us motivated throughout. His congratulatory speech at the top of Whernside made me shed a tear! There was a medical emergency on the mountain that day and even though nothing to do with their participants the Three Peaks Challenge leaders jumped in to help and support with assistance. As participants we were moved forwards and backwards through the groups depending on ability and pace which worked really well and meant we could achieve our best potential on the day. The support at the water and tea and cake stops were invaluable too so thanks to everyone who played their part. A brilliant day and sense of achievement thanks to Three Peaks Challenge!
