I'm used to bad customer service from…
I'm used to bad customer service from budget phone carriers, but it took months of requests and and false assurances to cancel my service. That is assuming I don't see yet another charge next month and have to contact them yet again to cancel.
Terrible Company
I tried switching three lines from another provider to Ting, but I have never had such terrible customer service from a company. Ever.
I had trouble activating my new SIM, and after some troubleshooting they sent me a replacement SIM. Not a big deal. Then I couldn't activate that SIM because my account had been "flagged by their security system".
Despite talking to multiple customer service representatives no one could tell me what that meant, or what I could do to active my line. All my requests to escalate the incident, speak to a manager, or otherwise resolve the issue were met with phrases like "I'm sorry, but there's nothing we can do."
They then deactivated the other two lines we'd transferred that were working so that they no longer had service. Likewise, despite repeated calls to customer service they couldn't give me any information on what was wrong, how to fix the issue, or how to escalate to someone who could help me.
Save your time and money and use another provider.
How to ruin a company
As everyone else has said they used to be a great company. Now their customer service is in the Philippines and the agents don't speak English. I ported my number to another company. Hopefully I won't continue to be billed by Ting.
Ting as I knew it is gone
Yeah, sadly I concur with other reviewers. We’ve been customers since 2013 or so. I tried to buy an iPhone from Ting yesterday and I won’t go into details but the order was cancelled and I wasn’t even notified. The agents are clearly outsourced and lacking in skills or access to be helpful. I wasted several hours. Will be looking for a new carrier.
Joining everyone else and leaving Ting
Like the others i can attest to Ting's once great customer service. Which is long gone. Just got off the phone with a miserable customer service agent who refused to help me. Last one to leave turn off the lights.
Customer service used to be good
Ting originally was a Canadian based, smaller mobile company. They valued customers and customer service above all. 5 stars at that point, 100% recommended then. They got bought by Dish and are now just as terrible as all the other big brands. Price is still great but customer service is nothing.

It's official. I have left Ting.
A few days ago I tried to open the Ting app on my iPhone and it wasn't there. It was no longer available. That was the last straw. Ting used to be great. It was priced right, it was reliable and the customer service was great, with North American customer service agents. Then Dish acquired Ting, or as the way I look at it, Ting sold out. And everything went down hill from there, as it ALWAYS does. And most affected was the customer service. Dish farmed it out to the lowest bidder in the Philippines and I had a couple of horrible experiences which forced me to start looking at other providers. And I found a better one. From all accounts I found a provider that is as good as Ting used to be.
I understand the inclination of wanting to be bought out if a great offer comes in - it's business. But, if you start a company that's based on values, like great customer service and doing things better then the incumbents, and become successful on customer loyalty then don't be surprised when those same customers think that you're a sell out when you sell your company, feel betrayed and decide to head for the exits. I know I do. I feel betrayed and feel used.
I miss the old, reliable, nice Ting and I shouldn't be made to feel this way...
Don't do it!!
I left Verizon because they are so expensive and my sister recommended Ting. She is in Massachusetts and I am in Florida. I could never get service. Of course the 1 time I get a flat tire, no service. I also changed my plan and then the next month they overcharged me. I tried to call for a week to speak to someone and EVERY time I called (during NORMAL business hours) I got a machine telling me to call during normal business hours🤦. Do yourself a favor and run the other way. I wish I had. I am back to Verizon.
Ting is not the customer friendly
Ting is not the customer friendly, knowledgeable company it once was. I tried to port two phones to ting one of them ported and the other one didn’t. They said wait 24 hours I waited 24 hours and it did not port. Contacted them and they said they put in a ticket and said someone will get in contact with me on Monday after weekend was over. At this point I cancelled service with them on both phones and went to another company that was able to provide service right away with no issues.
A month later and I got a bill for the one phone that ported over even though it was cancelled due to their incompetence. At this point they are no more than incompetent thieves. Do not recommend ever doing business with them.

I wish they had 0 stars they don't even deserve 1these guys are a joke scamming senior citizens 😤 yeah its cheap all right but think about it you get what your paying for thats why there service is crap il be finding a better service for my mother, wouldn't recommend to anyone I don't care how good they say they are THERE LYING TO YOU ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MAKING A PAY CHECK THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU OR THE SERVICE THEY GIVE THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN PERMANENTLY ALONG WITH TMOBILE.....
I have been a satisfied Ting customer…
I have been a satisfied Ting customer for many years. Until now. The day before I began travel from the US to the UK I confirmed by phone that everything was set up for Ting service to extend to UK. Not until I arrived here (after multiple efforts to sort out the problem) I was advised they no longer offered service in the UK. This has presented significant difficulties for me.
I will be canceling my subscription upon my return to the states.
Do not trust Ting to provide responsible service.
The absolute worst cellular service
The absolute worst cellular service I’ve ever had. How can I have cellular bars (more than one) and not have service? I can’t even use GPS with Ting. If you regularly drive from one major city to another, don’t use Ting. You will lose service once you have arrived at your destination and Ting will not care. To reiterate, you will lose service if you drive to another city and Customer Service will not care.

Liars. Thieves. Impossible to Cancel. Charged me for over 2 years of service when it was not in use and I tried to cancel with them multiple times. STAY AWAY
Ting makes it impossible to cancel
Ting makes it impossible to cancel. They promise live customer service but the listed customer service phone line had a recording that there was a problem with their phone system and hung up, for over a month. Online chats were closed due to inactivity while chatting. Email chat request was acknowledged but not answered for over 3 weeks. Help desk response threads are not reviewed and connected by them. After 3 weeks and way too much back and forth I finally managed to get service cancelled. In the meantime the phone that was stole supposedly racked up over $50 in charges despite being locked by Apple. Today I received an email the sim card was reactivated on MY account!
Update 4/19/2023
On April 8, 2023 I received an email from Ting stating that they had resolved the issues and applied a credit and that I had no balance. This evening I received an email attempting to collect for yet another month service.
Horrible company, stay far far far away
I lost my phone on 2/7 and switched to US Mobile as I got a much better deal. I had not used their service at all since I lost my phone and cancelled their service in February. However, I was unable to transfer my phone number and was told I had to contact Ting. Had a horrible time, spending several days trying to contact their support. After contacting their internet service I finally got a hold of someone that could help me transfer my phone number. I just got charged with service for March and after spending a lot of time on the phone with someone who spoke poor English they refused to refund the money they just stole from me. This is criminal behavior. I may have to cancel my credit card so they don't keep stealing from me.
Dishonest and inconsistent company

I had the flex plan in December of 22 and was always on my work or home wifi as well as out of the country for most of the month during which my SIM card was not active. I return in February to find I had been charged $617 for data charges I have never used. I was horrified and immediately called customer service. After hours of trying to figure out what happened they admitted a data issue had occurred and offered $150 refund which I refused saying that they could do better when it was their fault. I was then told the issue would be escalated and I would be contacted within 3 business days. After a week and a half I had not been contacted and so I began resubmitting my complaint and calling every few weeks. Months later I was never contacted and I was refunded the insult if $50. They are now saying that it was my fault after admitting that it was on their end. I am horrified and angered at this injustice and don’t know why I stayed with ting any longer than a month after the incident. Never trust them. Horrific experience. Abysmal customer service and care. Awful company.
I signed up Ting in 2021
I signed up Ting in 2021, and I did not know that they did not connect the router to the security system. I tried to call today and the voice customer service is not working. This is the worse customer service I have experienced.
They send people on foot to your door…
They send people on foot to your door that summarily IGNORE signage such as "NO TRESPASSING" (breaking the law) to hang their door hanger adverts on your door.
I am always amazed that sales training folks feel this is a "smart approach" and that it will generate good feelings for their brand and somehow make the homeowners want to buy their Widgets/Products/Services. I'd say ... No. IRRITATING someone you'd like to convert is a bad foot to start out on.
WHEN it works...
WHEN it works, it is OK but sometimes the number doesn't ring even though the other person may get a call. Today, a weekday Weds., mid-day you get the mseeage from phone support "The office is closed." Even the new customer number I tried doesn't answer and just disconnected in 15 minutes of hold with "sorry ..." This is crap. sorry I switched to them and have to change carriers.
Went on line and cancelled my account…
Went on line and cancelled my account at the end of January. Come March, I have a bill for service for February. Went on line and the agent says did you speak with an agent?(I was on the chat line). I asked if there was anything but agents on the chat line. She said she was an agent. I had her send me an email that says that my account has been cancelled but reading others reviews, I am skeptical. Seems a whole lot like what the other reviewers are saying.
