It shouldn’t be even 1 or 0.000000001 % of star! Zero, null, using the gambling’s Advertisements on the app for keep attention and for gambling (!!! really)

My friends recommended me this app as a gem( they received probably some money for do it).

I travel a lot, here and abroad generally flights but trains sometimes as well!

So I created an account and enthusiastically booked the ticket, then app is showing some rail cards - so bought one, by mistake for two…even I am a solo traveller.

Then I sent an email ( not one , because after one I have not received any answer),

on website is written what I have 30 days for give back the product purchased on trainpal app

I did send the email next day , when I discovered my order, and I received

two different messages:

one : if I didn’t activate my rail card in 30 days they will give me back my money 39£

the second : my iPhone activated by it self the rail card!!!! during the payment process!

So I asked one more time: the same situation: two different answers and finally they senf me 5£ compensation for MY NEW RAIL CARD FOR TWO!!

So if they are not scammers please give me a clue !

I AM NOT RECOMMENDING THIS APP!

My friends whom have done me the recommendation they are not using it after one off !

Non vi fidate sono lestofanti

Il Giorno 15 aprile ho pagato tramite PayPal €.39,80 per due biglietti dopo un ora ho annullato la prenotazione chiedendo il rimborso non ti rispondono più e non restituiscono i soldi non vi fidate usate altre App.più serie ma non questa perché i soldi non li vedete più

Last night, I tried to exchange my tickets for a different time on the TrainPal app, but the times did not change. However, the money came out of my account. I spent all day today speaking with someone and apparently they do not believe it was a glitch in their system, and I cannot get a full refund, despite already paying for the administration fee (£9.99) when making my exchange. I understand that this admin fee is enforced by National Rail but the point is, I already paid for this, and I was asking for a refund with this admin fee deducted - they're trying to deduct it TWICE (£18.98) I will not be using TrainPal going forward due to this and advise others to be wary.

Absolutely shocking!
Booked a return train ticket for 2 people, total cost of £214.62. They charged the credit card twice by mistake and now asking for me to still pay the admin fee to return the money. How is this a customer fault if they made the mistake? Would not use again or recommend. Bunch of incapable people working in this company. Do not use!!!!

Extortion.

Booked train tickets , charged train prices but on the day of travel I was informed trains weren’t running and this should’ve been made aware to me by train pal .
They didn’t make me aware and I ended up paying train ticket prices for a bus to London and back . No apologies, no offer of refund . Awful awful service

Avoid at all costs

I purchased a return train ticket to attend Crufts on 8 March, costing £19.40 with my Senior Railcard discount. On 17 February, I realised I had mistakenly booked the return for 18 March instead of 8 March. As my ticket was exchangeable, I attempted to amend only the return portion, but the app required me to rebook the entire journey.

I selected equivalent tickets at the same price, ensuring my Senior Railcard discount was applied. However, I have since discovered that the app failed to apply the discount at payment, resulting in an overcharge of £20.50. Additionally, I was charged a £9.99 admin fee. I had no intention of removing my Senior Railcard, and this appears to be an error in the booking system.

On another booking I exchanged my Basingstoke to Hykeham return tickets from 18 Feb 2025 to 28 Feb 2025. The App and receipt show the change, but Trainpal actually only changed the return date which meant I had no outward journey ticket for the jouney. I was issued a replacement ticket from King's Cross to Lincoln and had to pay for the underground on my debit card. The guard let me travel from Basingstoke to London and the revenue officer let me through the barriers at Waterloo because at that stage all I knew was that the prepay ticket collection had only issued return tickets.

Booked single ticket one way to long Eaton price 8.90 gave a 1st class option clicked on it 15.70 thought earlier train get a nice coffee and sandwich click
Got in 1st class to be told embarrassingly I was not on a 1 st class ticket
They had actually give an open anytime ticket for the price of 15.70
Was getting a flight that day so would not have needed an open ticket so 100% I know what I selected
Customer Service team are trying to say that’s what I booked 100% I didn’t
They offered 5 pound discount voucher to be used in 30days on ticket over 25 pound
What a total insult
Got my money and don’t care never again app deleted every single person I know told to delete as well
Highway robbery with miss leading sales tactics 😤

Purchased a £30 railcard 2 weeks ago…

Purchased a £30 railcard 2 weeks ago and got a confirmation email to say it had been issued and money went out of my account but I’ve not been able to download the digital railcard. Have written an email and a letter to an address in Edinburgh but heard nothing. I’m extremely frustrated and upset to loose hard earned money. I opted for TrainPal as opposed to other companies having read the endorsement on Money Saving Expert website.

Terrible company

Terrible company. I bought what I thought was 8 flexi season tickets which should be as per below
Flexi Season allows unlimited travel on the day of activation between a named origin and destination station. They are sold in bundles of 8 day passes, which must be used within 28 days. It is only available as a Digital Ticket.
But no this company are selling as single outbound only . Paid of 400 pounds just for 8 outbound tickets . Big Con ! Refused to give me full refund .

1 out of 4 journeys went without issues.

Booked two return trips. The outbound of trip one was cancelled, we were when 2 trains in. We were hours waiting for another one. No refund. The return of trip 1 was cancelled halfway through the 1st train and we were told to get off and they didn't know if there would be any more trains coming. We had to pay for a train to our trip 2 destination arriving a day early. No refund or free ride to our new destination. Having not been able to get to our original destination we couldn't take the outgoing train for trip 2. We did get some refund for that leg. The return leg from trip 2 was fine. So much for their refund policy if 15 minutes late. Of the four journeys the return of trip 2 was the only one without incident. Meanwhile we are out of pocket for a hotel room for a night and the train tickets we bought to redirect to our second trip destination. The app was ok, but expect to be left trackside nowhere near your destination and you won't be disappointed.

Shockingly bad app

Shockingly bad app! I wish I looked into the app a bit more before buying a 3 year Railcard. Not being able to download the Railcard into your Wallet is terrible. The app is very hard to navigate and now I'm tied in to using it for 3 years to use my railcard. There is no customer service you just get given an email address.

TrainPal appears to be a huge CON

I agree with the majority of reviews previously listed... they are highly efficient scam-orientated. I used a SOVENDUS voucher to purchase a senior railcard... and was misled throughout the purchase procedure... subsequent attempts to obtain a refund have been met with obfuscation; inaction; platitudes etc... but no refund. Does anyone know how to locate a business address for ANY of their administration ? Apparently, a senior figure is: Alvaro Ungurean; Commercial Director, Trainpal. and has been contacted by The Office Of Rail and Road in the past, concerning : Transparency of fees charged by online rail ticket retailers. Any Corporate address would be welcome... I am aware that they are a Chinese Company, ( Amy Wei is Head of TrainPAL ), parent company: Trip.com.

Used Trainpal numerous times and have never experienced any problems over at least 5 years. Although they do charge a booking fee the total fare is usually less than what the rail company websites and apps charge.
You can also book European rail tickets through Trainpal, which saves trying to navigate each countries rail ticket booking website

No refund for cancelled train

Impossible to get a refund if your train is cancelled!
Avoid the headache of days of repeating yourself in emails (because phone numbers for customer services dont exist in this day and age!) and purchase your tickets through a reputable company.

The payment went through but I have no email confirmation nor booking reference. I've emailed customer services 5 times now still no solution so going round in circles. I'm so frustrated as this was a Christmas present!!!
