Horrible Experience in Postgraduate…
Horrible Experience in Postgraduate Diploma in Traumatology & PTSD at Trauma Training Limited.
I enrolled in the Postgraduate Diploma in Traumatology and PTSD at Trauma Training Limited, co-owned by Lucia Hall. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply distressing and not at all aligned with the supportive environment one would expect from a course of this nature.
Teaching Style and Student Interaction
The teaching approach was excessively forceful. When I sought clarification during sessions, I was marked and subsequently subjected to persistent scrutiny, leading to significant frustration and emotional distress. Expressing concerns about this treatment resulted in further targeting.
Unprofessional Communication
On May 12, 2024, I received an email notification from Ms. Hall at 12:44 AM, critiquing my actions. Which i had to respond to after 1:00 AM to get her off my back. Leading to a series of communications that lacked empathy and appeared to exploit her position to harass me. No independent mediator was appointed, and Ms. Hall remained the sole authority.
Course Structure and Delivery
The course was delivered online via Zoom, with sessions lasting up to 7 hours, during which the instructors read handouts verbatim. This approach was particularly challenging for visual learners and did not cater to diverse learning styles.
Harassment Incident
On February 23, 2025, during a live session, I sought clarification on a topic. Ms. Hall responded in a manner that was harsh and publicly humiliating, causing significant distress. Several participants can corroborate this incident.
Lack of Support and Unfair Treatment
Following the incident, I emailed Ms. Hall expressing my concerns. In response, she had her husband, Mr. Steven Hall, also a tutor at the organisation, address the matter. While he suggested I direct future questions to him, the underlying issue remained unaddressed.
Subsequently, I experienced ongoing scrutiny and unfair treatment. For instance, leaving a session a few minutes early led to a meeting with my personal tutor, who imposed additional procedures for early departures. Despite adhering to these procedures, I continued to face unwarranted attention.
Inadequate Response to Concerns
Despite being a member of the numerous outstanding bodies Trauma training limited lack proper complaint system and accountability. No independent mediator was appointed, and Ms. Hall remained the sole authority addressing my complaints, exacerbating my distress. And she finally asked me to leave the course and refunded my money.
I signed up for this course as a counsellor to further my knowledge on trauma counselling, but it became a source of trauma itself. I strongly advise potential students to carefully consider these factors before enrolling. It is crucial to seek educational environments that foster respect, has a body they are accountable to, has empathy, and professional integrity. From my distressing experience which i am still recovering from, i will NOT recommend any course from Trauma training limited . I have email evidence for all i have written.
