As a holiday let owner The Travel Chapter markets our property well and we get many bookings.

Unfortunately had to cancel this holiday which we did with 2 months notice, plenty of time to re-book for such a nice looking property in a prime location. To my disbelief despite 2 months notice we got a generic mail claiming my £710 deposit was non refundable and a link to their T's and C's which i don't recognise as part of the booking process, who would agree to a non refundable £710 deposit. This is run through a 3rd party called Travel Chapter Holidays and is an absolute sham, i can understand a small booking fee or admin loss but not 100% of the £710 paid, this behaviour is an absolute scam claiming money for absolutely no service whatsoever, no explanation as to what losses i was covering, it would be a massive assumption from the company that the cottage couldn't be re-booked with 2 months notice and an even steeper assumption to claim the £710 was admin fee. Id be better off giving my money to an online nigerian price, absolute bunch of scammers...

As a property owner, we have been working with Travel Chapter - and with Holiday Cottages before them - for many years. TC is an impressive, experienced and very well-organised entity. Its instincts in communicating and advising, and its very impressive team of property managers - notably April and Hayley - and assistants in every respect are knowledgeable, courteous and efficient.....a great Business, and a privilege to work together!

Reading through the bad reviews, I couldn't agree more! I have had no end of problems with Travel Chapter since they bought out the company I previously rented my house through. I have been ignored by my account manager, there has been a huge turnover of staff, the costs have gone up and the management service has gone down, and I am not getting in nearly as many bookings as I would expect. Would not recommend at all!

As a former owner of a property formerly let through this company I am receiving demands for payment for a service that they could not have provided. I employ my own cleaner and they did not have a key to my property. Regardless of this, they are harassing me for payment. I don't know how to stop this behaviour.

The homeowner account manager gives us wonderful tailored 121 experience. Moved from cottages.com who I could never get hold of.
As an owner, and as a holiday maker, I cannot recommend them. This is an owner review. I expect my property to be respected and looked after by any agent and quite simply travel chapter did the opposite; obstructive, disrespectful and inefficient at all times. I could give lots of examples, I could evidence how they have cost me money, but I'll just give one example of their stupidity:
On set-up I told travel chapter when the chimney was being swept (as the chimney sweep certificate is essential, for compliance and insurance). They booked guests in for a date when the chimney was being swept and then when chasing me (why?) for the chimney sweep certificate said they would have to check it was ok with the guests. The guests said they would cancel if the date wasn't moved (not easy this time of year).
That's one example of 100. Loads of complaints about their shoddy housekeeping. I paid them for my gas safety certificate but they still haven't sent it to me.

Very easy to make owner bookings via the portal
Very happy with the service received, friendly and informative and helpful with any questions.
Great agency to use to rent out your holiday let. I like the pricing structures and the way their algorithm works for pricing short bookings. The staff at our local branch are friendly and responsive. Their flag ship web site Holiday Cottage’s Uk gets lots of bookings.
Very automated respoces.
Demand for payment instantaneous before property is even advertised.
The property is still not 'live' as I write to allow for forward bookings from March 2025.
Obviously the interest is to sell the product quickly to the client.
Not enough clarity or contact information for new clients about the personal services offerred.
Great customer service and support. Quick response to enquiries through dedicated manager.
Incorrect prices posted on website. We are a charity and have 3 cottages and have been in business since 2012
Went live on 26th Oct. 24 and have only 2 bookings.

Having decided to rent out our much loved family holiday apartment as a Furnished Holiday Let the choice of letting agency was crucial. Living some distance from the flat, we needed a full management service that would handle changeovers and deal with any issues promptly. Travel Chapter, through their holidaycottages.co.uk brand, has proved to be a wise choice. Occupancy rates of around 70 per cent have been achieved in the first four months of letting. Any minor problems have been dealt with promptly by the Managed Services Team and customer feedback has been positive - thanks in no small part to the wonderful housekeeping team, Kerry and Anthony, that Travel Chapter found for us.
7 days before our holiday in the Lake District and less than 24 hrs before a week in the Yorkshire Dales, booked through Original Cottages ( a Travel Chapter company) we were sent a message from
them that our booking had been cancelled by the owner and offering alternatives, but we needed to speak to someone, with 1 week to go and in mid Sept the choices were limited and would mean a major compromise.
Over then next 3 days we spent hours trying to contact someone to get an explanation and rearrange the week in the Lakes.
The phones just rang, no response to mails, chat box or voice messages, just what you need when going away the week before.
Things can go wrong, we understand that, but you would expect a better customer service.
We will avoid any Travel Chapter company in future.

We moved to Travel Chapter after previously using one of their competitors to let our house. The difference was night and day, Travel Chapter have shown great interest in the house, took plenty of photos and have attracted the level and type of bookings we were hoping for. We're looking forward to building our relationship with Travel Chapter.
We have had properties with Travel Chapter for a few years but 23-24 the company has gone to hell.There are about 10 different phone numbers all leading nowhere eg this morning I phoned owner support/complaints 'the manager you wish to speak to is out of office,putting you through to our regional team there is no one available to answer your call putting you through to our owner support team there is no one available leave a message' After 2 days and untold attempts I left a second message stating 'any further bookings will get the door slammed on them'. Finally a response from property manager 'I gather you have a customer complaint,I'm leaving the office early at 3 pm so please phone me' I phoned and got her usual message, 'Not available,leave a text'.For this they take 20% commission plus an annual fee of £90. Endless demands for us to drop our prices (which THEY set,not us) endless discounts and if anyone complains they immediately offer a refund,not bothering to check with us or follow their own protocols. They will bleed you endlessly. Will this finally get a response from them?wait and see

Our property is well described across a number of branded sites. We get good support from the owner support manager and team who resolve queries promptly. We have a high level of bookings being 100% booked since we started renting our property.
