Travel Department are a great company with a long established reputation for great trips. You get to meet with a group of like minded people who generally are very open to meeting with others. The tours are usually spot on and visit interesting places. The guides are usually outstanding and mix historical information with storytelling. We’re looking forward to going again

We had a wonderful week in Sorrento.
Hotel Ascot is perfectly positioned to enjoy Sorrento. The Hotel was very clean, well run and the staff very helpful and friendly. However the two meals we had there as part of the holiday package could only be described as fair.
Our transfers were on very clean buses which were very punctual and comfortable to travel in.
We enjoyed the excursions, however the crowds in Positana and Amalfi made it very difficult to explore, but it is July.
Our tour guide Cinzia Annunziata, was excellent. She was always good humoured and helpful.

It was a great holiday.

Every little detail was worked out, we loved it.

We have booked 3 holidays so far with the Travel Department. Booking is very efficient, communication before holiday is excellent. Accommodation, tours etc are always well organised.

Fjords of Norway including Bergen, Flam & Oslo. A wonderful holiday from beginning to end. The itinerary involved travel from west to east with four hotels, coach, boat and rail journeys, but everything went smoothly thanks to our excellent guide Vidar. Our drivers handled the sometimes difficult roads with great professionalism and kept us safe. Our hotel in Loftus was nothing short of spectacular with jaw dropping views. Norway is beautiful. Our single minor quibble was that the walking tour of Oslo was a little too long at three hours. However, this wasn’t helped by unusually hot weather in the city that day. We had a great group of fellow travellers and enjoyed every minute of this holiday.

The itinerary was well chosen and often spectacular. Accommodation and food were enjoyable with the exception of our meal in the Raddison Blu in Oslo which was disappointing. The guide was knowledgeable and helpful throughout and our female bus driver excellent and animated.
Norwegian prices, particularly for alcohol were very high but the spectacular scenery made up for it.

I felt looked after from the moment I arrived. I met the guide and a great group of people so had lovely company even though I set out alone. The hotel exceeded my expectations in terms of food, facilities, location and friendliness of staff. I loved having time to spend there alone or with other people on the trip and also getting to explore Sicily without the inconvenience of public transport or the stress of hiring a car. The guides on the excursions were very informative and friendly.

Excellent hotel great location and very good guide and organised day trips it makes senior travel so enjoyable.

Our recent trip to Norway fjords, was nothing short of amazing,, from location, to trip , hotels , and of course our wonderful tour guide Vidar ,, although expensive,, I would recommend and already have ,, recommended it to my family and friends

Booked a trip in January to Lake Como in June. I requested a " quiet room " when making the booking. I got a noisey and tiny room on the first floor of The Grand Hotel Menaggio overlooking a busy road.TD had six months to honor or reject this request, but sat on their hands. Hotel staff and Rep were great. Pity about the room

Very well organized - interesting trips

We had a very enjoyable holiday recently in Morocco with a lovely group of people. There were 12 of us, an ideal size as we travelled in a minibus and covered big distances each day. Our guide, Hamel, and our bus driver were excellent. Staying in different Riads most nights was a new experience as was our camel ride through the desert! An amazing country and way of life, especially the Souks, well worth experiencing. Well done TD Active!

We had a great holiday on the "classic Tuscany" tour with the travel dept.

The hotel was lovely. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was also good in the hotel with a pizza place just across the road for lunch on free days. The area of Monticatini was a lovely town to stay in.The tour guide Claudia was brilliant and so helpful. She was always checking to see if we were all doing ok. The itinerary was good too and the rest days were very welcome after the tour days. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone as having the tour days all organised for us was great.

It was a very enjoyable holiday indeed and we would consider another one in the future.

You provide good value for money.Sightseeing is my number one thing to do on holiday and you certainly provide plenty of that! Your guides are excellent and really look after their clients

Max was an excellent guide and went the extra mile for everyone.
The hotel was in a great location,but the room was rather spartan, the shower was not great, and there were not enough clothes hangers.
Access to a pool in a heatwave would have been desirable. Otherwise , I was very happy with the organisation.

Guide, Anka, was fantastic. Very punctual, knowledgeable and approachable. Excursions were interesting and worthwhile. Optional trip to Monaco and Monte Carlo was awesome. Hotel Eden was central, near sea front, accommodation and breakfast were first class and staff were excellent. Plenty to do on “rest” days. Cannes was a delight.
