Splurge on a Troubadour Apex

Purchased the Apex Backpack a few months ago and it has lived up to all the hype. Solid, elevated and practical. Would recommend to everyone. Great product, great customer service. Overall you can't go wrong with a Troubadour product.

Apex Backpack

The Apex Backpack is a great everyday, urban bag. Unfortunately, I had a problem with the main zipper three years after purchase. It was replaced quickly and with little fuss. A great bag and the best backup service and warranty that I have experienced.

Customer service was also a dream to work with.
- I ran into an issue with the bag I purchased while traveling (not a product quality issue; the quality was excellent)
- Customer support was very responsive (<24 hours)
- They offered me different options to handle the issue I had and it was satisfactorily resolved in the end

Great quality and reasonably priced

I have purchased 2 backpacks (one for me and one for my wife) from the soho store and they're both excellent quality. I take my laptop, gym kit, protein shaker and water bottle to work every day and it all fits perfectly. It's comfortable to wear but looks professional so perfect for the city. The fact that it comes with a 5 year warranty shows that they stand behind the product. Also found the guys in the soho store really friendly, helpful and knowledgable about the products. Rare to find these days!

Look / Quality + Easy Return Policy

Look / Quality: Got an Aero for husband, who's a frequent business traveler, he loves the comfortable fit, stylish looks and the volume the bag can carry. He told me he's got lots of compliments on the bag from work and at the gym!
Excellent return experience: I originally got an Apex but my husband likes the Aero better so we returned the Apex with no hassle and order the Aero

Best backpack

I'm a backpack junky, and the Troubadour Apex is the best I've owned. Perfect pockets and design. Stylish enough for work but durable enough for a hike when playing hooky during a work trip.

Awful service / experience

Short version: almost two weeks of back and forth where I had to help point out issues / felt like it was on me to show what was going on. Ended with just cancelling the order. Would be highly concerned if I ever had to actually use the 'guarantee' based on the ordering experience.

4/8 - placed order
4/10 - fulfillment email w/ tracking
4/11 - tracking was not registered with UPS, I reached out to troubadour asking where it was
4/12 - support noted warehouse confirmed it was sent and told ME to reach out to UPS
4/13 - support confirmed it is right tracking ID / was sent
4/14-4/16 - had to also reach out on chat to prompt a response, got conflicting information because chat representative pulled the wrong order ID
4/17 - support confirmed tracking ID now works and that item was on the way
4/19 - after ANOTHER exchange of emails, support / warehouse now say package is actually lost and not sent at all, offering to reship with no discount or compensation
4/20 - requested refund instead, waiting on processing

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry the shipping of your order was such a frustrating experience.

We aim to have shipping times fall within the range of a customers preferred shipping method. Over the last several weeks, due to a fulfillment process upgrade, we have experienced delays longer than expected. To be transparent much of this upgrade involved moving locations and ironing out the new fulfillment flow.

Thank you for detailing your experience. We have gone back to look closely at what happened here and we just want to share the details from our records. We were able to confirm that the UPS tracking ID provided was not functioning. We confirmed that the ID provided to you was the correct information within our system. We have limited insight on why the error may be displaying and our staff member was not saying that you needed to seek out answer on your own by merely suggested reaching to UPS as their visibility would be more detailed than ours. Even after escalating to our warehouse contact, our staff was reassured the ID was correct and noticed at that time UPS was displaying basic information for the ID. Our staff was fully aware of the frustration this was causing and continued to advocate for your order even after email responses ceased. Behind the scenes we are able to see they looped their direct manager and both the warehouse contact and their manager to understand what was going on when no movement was occurring with the tracking information. It wasn't until our staff escalated to all direct managers that the warehouse team was able to speak directly to UPS. Confirmation was provided that UPS did not scan in the received package and that we should consider it lost. Our staff communicated this information to you as soon as news was shared with our them.
Normal protocol would involve a UPS investigation and replacement and refunds would be on hold until we receive closure/final update from UPS. Our support staff thought it best to either offer an immediate replacement or alternatively a refund due to the lapse of time since the order was placed. We apologize for this situation and our staff did everything in their power to track down the issues with your order.

This is far from the experience we would want any of our customers to have to deal with. Again, I am sorry this was such a frustrating process.

I recently purchased a Troubadour backpack and I am extremely happy with my purchase. The minimalist design is sleek and stylish, and the bag is incredibly lightweight yet durable. EDIT: They posted my review after a couple of weeks, which I appreciate, so updating my review based on the customer service. Will follow up with the company to see if there is a way to resolve me issue.

Received the Troubadour Ridge Backpack as a gift. I really loved the bag, but the design is very sleek so the bottom of the shoulder straps are quite small (1 inch thick) and soft. This resulted in the straps loosening every time I put on the backpack. I wrote a 3 star review on their website, and they never posted it, even after I verified my email. It seems that they filter their reviews which is quite frustrating because you'll never know the cons of their products and be able to make an informed purchasing decision.

To address the issue with your Ridge Backpack, we are sorry to hear that the straps are loosening. I am guessing that the buckle is not locking the webbed strap into place. If you would please reach out to our Support team and include a photo or better yet a video, if possible, detailing what is happening with the strap. We may then review the issue and determine best how to assist you.

I was not satisfied with the quality or the service with my Troubadour purchase. I ordered 3 items that were shipped in two separate packages, but troubadour only provided 1 tracking number and my online account info told me all items were in the one package. The package without the provided tracking number ended up at a UPS store for an entire week, without any notice or communication. I finally located it after contacting troubadour multiple times and finally getting the second tracking number. It was an unnecessary headache which would have been avoided if correct tracking information had been provided in the first place. I ended up returning all items because the quality was not as good as expected. Specifically, the sewing on the backpack was uneven and the zipper was uneven in a way that made it seem like it would not stay waterproof after repeated use.

We are sorry to learn about your experience with Troubadour. I would like to address the UPS issue as best we can. When items are shipped we do send a tracking ID used to ship the order. If items were sent in multiple boxes, using the tracking function provided at the UPS site it will detail if the order was sent in more than one shipment/box. From that tracking page you are able to view the individual tracking IDs associated with the order. At the time of delivery, if the courier is unable to obtain a signature they have the option to either redeliver on another day or deliver to a UPS Access Point. We have not control over how the driver may choose to obtain the signature. However, if the delivery is dropped off at a UPS access point we are not notified, instead UPS updates the tracking information and provides the location of the Access Point. We apologize if this caused any inconvenience for you, again, we have no control over when UPS chooses this option.
We are sorry to hear that there was an issue with the quality of the products received. We aim for a higher quality of product and our Support Team is always willing to assist you to make things right. Troubadour's products carry a 5-year guarantee and in most situations we are able to repair most issues and in cases where we are unable to do so we are always happy to send out a replacement.
