How To Miss An Event & Lose Your Mind Trying To Report It
Having a neurodiverse family to manage, while also juggling ADHD myself, work, study, and wildlife caring, means my entire existence runs on reminders and vibes.
In this day and age, you’re almost guaranteed a reminder for events, especially when booking through a ticketing service. Temu is constantly telling me about that cute item and coupon I totally forgot!
This week I’ve lost two loved ones, had a breakup, and endured such a spectacular series of unfortunate events that I’m beginning to think I may actually be directly related to the Baudelaire children. The brain fog is so thick I could spread it on toast.
Then I see photos of my friends’ kids having the absolute time of their lives at the Footy Club disco… and realise my daughter missed it entirely, when she needed it most.
I searched emails.
Texts.
Spam folders.
Messenger.
Carrier pigeons.
Smoke signals.
Nothing.
And honestly? I am angry. Not because mistakes can’t happen, but because when you’re managing a neurodiverse household, systems and reminders aren’t “helpful extras” they’re the rails keeping the train on the tracks.
At this point my organisational strategy is held together with caffeine, trauma, and seventeen tabs open in my brain all playing different music simultaneously. If a reminder was sent, it vanished into the same dimension that eats socks and my will to function.
Mostly though, I’m angry for my daughter, because she would have absolutely loved it.
In a moment of admirable emotional maturity, I decided to provide feedback.
Thirty-five minutes later I had gone through seventeen “Contact Us” loops, three dead ends, two FAQ pages, and at least one mild spiritual crisis trying to find a remotely appropriate option.
Somewhere out there, a UX designer is sleeping peacefully while parents are out here rage-clicking their way through the seven circles of customer service hell.

Couldn’t do without it - Trybooking every time
Trybooking itself is an excellent tool to run an event through. It is dynamic in the data it can collect and is the easy to work with tha data for knowing numbers and booking groups with their specific choices. The customer support makes it next level. Learning centre is great but also just a simple phone call gains helpful and extensive advice to make organising easy and reliable. Very pleased we have access to this platform to arrange our dinner for 160+ guests with minimal time and effort required. Thankyou Trybooking team

Having often got myself into a pickle when editing one of our events, I have absolutely no hesitation to ask TryBooking for help - they always come back quickly and solve my problem efficiently. I spoke to Sheila today who dealt with my query without fuss and waited patiently whilst I checked to see if I was happy with the result.

Great Event Platform
From start to finish TryBooking have made setting up an Event effortless. Their continued Customer Service throughout has been a breathe of fresh air and second to none.
The platform is so flexible it does everything I need and more. I didn't expect to find an event platform that would do everything I needed for my event. When I have been stuck Jules has been there to help me. Joan gave me and the team a full demonstration of the platform.
I cannot recommend TryBooking enough. You won't go wrong with them.

Absolutely First Class
We recently used TryBooking for a national conference we organised, and I couldn’t be happier with the service we received. As someone who had never used a booking platform before, I had plenty of questions and the TryBooking team consistently went above and beyond to support us.
They were absolutely fantastic—everything ran smoothly from setting up the ticketing system right through to post‑event support. They were always just a phone call away, ready to answer any questions or help with any technical issues and nothing was ever too much trouble.
I would definitely use the TryBooking platform again without hesitation.

Outstanding customer service and user-friendly platform
I’ve been consistently impressed with TryBooking’s customer service. Their team is incredibly efficient, always responsive, and genuinely helpful.
When I encountered an issue setting up my event page, I raised a request and had the problem resolved within a day. They clearly understood my situation and guided me step by step, even providing illustrations and a video capture to make the process easy to follow.

I have recently swopped over to try booking and haven’t had a proper chance to really look into it and so I phoned the company.

Astounded!
I am astounded that not everyone who does gigs is not using this platform. Really low commission rates (it's hard getting bums on seats, who wants to lose a chunk of revenue?) and absolutely sterling customer service. I cannot recommend enough.

I’ve looked high and low for affordable booking and this is it!
After comparing every ticket seller in the UK I’m so happy I landed on TryBooking. The customer service is all UK based and have helped me worked through any little issue. You have a payouts before the event and it’s low fees for both your customers and yourself. For my next event I’ll be using them again happily. Shout out to Shelia was SO helpful and went above and beyond in helping me out.
