Shiv gave me advice on the best legal structure I should pursue for my new business, and the implications of being a sole trader or a limited company. He was professional, direct and gave me clear and helpful answers to my questions, and some advice on next steps.

I have relied on 3 Wise Bears to look after both my Limited company and personal tax (self assessment) matters for the last 4 years. Great communication, honest and stress free advice. The Managing Director Gurpreet goes above and beyond, and you can tell just from talking with him that he's extremely knowledgeable, friendly and that your accountancy matters will be handled with an exemplary level of professionalism.

My day to day accountant who regularly dealt with me Toshmila was always very patient, especially considering my tendency to leave everything to the last minute, and was always available when I needed her.

I've now been with another accountant for almost a year, just to be sure no more mistakes or omissions have come to light from my experience with 3 Wise Bears.

From start to finish I found them to be poor communicators, lacking in attention to detail, very expensive and extremely arrogant and unresponsive when I did complain about issues.

Some of my issues:

1) My accountant hardly ever responded to emails the same day, and when I questioned this, said that 5 days was 3WiseBears’ ‘normal response time’ to emails, so I’d be lucky if he responded the next day.

2) As a new business, I had plenty of questions. He often didn’t respond to every question on an email, and used what I found to be confusing or ambiguous language, meaning a follow up email from me and another lengthy wait.

3) A number of issues arose which resulted in me paying a lot more tax than I should have done. When there was a problem, they never apologised or acknowledged the inconvenience caused.

Over time, my attitude became more and more wary and intolerant of another late email with an error or omission, until one day, my accountant was replaced with no notice, no note from his manager, just an email from the new one, and when we spoke she appeared stressed, hadn’t had a proper handover and appeared therefore out of her depth. She spotted a big mistake and told me to pick it up with my previous accountant’s manager.

At this point I complained, but instead of investigating and responding to my issues, I was told that 3 Wise Bears would be resigning from my account because I was rude. This was the first time they’d mentioned this. Checking back on my emails I may have been brief or direct when I was between meetings but never personal or offensive.

At the time I was affronted that this could happen after I was the one who had shouldered the personal loss of income from their mistakes and had constant frustration over 2 years.

However, I'm so relieved now, as I switched to an accountant who are totally accurate, cheaper, very responsive (they have a same day response guarantee) and actually appear to care about my business and my welfare rather than treating me as profit centre to be exploited. If there’s any confusion, my new accountant just picks up the phone and calls me.

I can see from all these other reviews, if things are going well, 3 Wise Bears must be tremendous. The issue is where something has gone wrong, instead of investigating and trying to rectify they just washed their hands of it and assumed I must be a ‘difficult customer’.

So please exercise caution with 3 Wise Bears and think twice if time, value, accuracy and a personal touch are important to you. And if anything goes wrong, do keep a record!

I have been working with 3 Wise Bears for around 4 years now and found the team to be really helpful. I am not very good with understanding tax and found their advice to be invaluable, especially during the pandemic.

I started to work with 3 Wise Bears a year ago, as I had decided to move from employment to contracting.
I hardly knew anything about setting up my own business, nor anything the various relating accounting concepts (invoicing, VAT, dividends, etc.)

It's been a really smooth experience, I can only highly recommend them! Everything is taken care of for you (mostly through prompts, reminders, answering questions etc.), the average time I have to spend every month doing admin stuff is roughly 1h max.

I also spent the equivalent of roughly 3 afternoons (spread over a year, mostly towards the beginning) teaching myself about the basic concepts around taxes and accounting:
- The welcome package includes quite a few video tutorials that are very helpful to get started.
- Beyond these videos I did read various bits on the internet: mostly how-tos from the FreeAgent website, or sometimes pages from HRMC website. And also asked occasional questions to my accountant about various bits.
The video tutorials are what is really essential, the extra reading was mostly because I was really curious to understand 100% of everything :)

They were recommended to my by a friend, and I have recommended them to other friends of mine!

I've been with 3 Wise Bears since 2016, they've always answered my questions within a day, and generally provided everything they promised. Should I create another company, I would choose their services again.

The switch to 3 Wise Bears was easy. I moved away from a cheaper online based/call centre larger accountancy firm to get this more dedicated service.

Previously I had to speak to relationship managers before being transferred to various specialists depending on my questions. At 3 Wise Bears, I get one dedicated accountant to talk to each time and that builds an understanding of my business . I would recommend them highly for their dedicated service and excellent knowledge

Great service & latest software. We are a startup Technology consulting business and engaged 3WB as our book-keepers, tax advisors and for payroll at company inception. The service is flexible and offers good value for money and what I really like is 3WB's intelligent use of cloud-accounting tools (Xero, Receipt Bank, Sent, Soldo etc) to automate a lot of the accounting and give me access to real-time accurate reporting. They run our account with only minimal need for meetings (~1/2 hr vc each month end to review the account) and the rest is taken care of.

I have been with 3 Wise Bears for almost 6 years. Not a single complaint! Very professional, proactive and transparent, with solid expertise of accounting around ltds. Sorath, my accountant from 3 Wise Bears has been excellent in all communications I had and very helpful in anything I needed. Definitely recommend them to any ltd owners.

Linh and the rest of the 3 Wise Bears team are very sympathetic, apply themselves to their work, give great explanations and have a lot of patience, even with contractors asking a lot of things all the time like I. Their service is very complete, they take care of everything my business needs, and will save you more money than if you were to do your accounting yourself. I can only recommend them!
