I applied for a role at Twin Group and…

I applied for a role at Twin Group and opted into the Disability Confident scheme, expecting fair treatment in line with the commitments of a Disability Confident Leader. Unfortunately, I found the process lacked transparency and support for disabled applicants.

Despite selecting “Yes” to the scheme on the application platform, my declaration was not acknowledged. I was later told I should have disclosed my disability in my CV or covering letter, which is not a requirement under the Equality Act 2010. My request to record the appeal meeting as a reasonable adjustment was also refused, despite explaining it was necessary for accessibility.

I felt the tone of the appeal meeting was overly defensive and dismissive of my concerns. I raised a formal complaint and appeal, but responses have been delayed and inconsistent, making the process difficult to navigate.

This experience has left me disappointed and disheartened. I am now exploring options to escalate this matter through formal channels, including the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) and Acas.

If you are a disabled applicant, I encourage you to carefully consider your needs and seek clarification early in the process. In my experience, this organisation did not demonstrate the inclusive and supportive approach expected from a Disability Confident Leader.

I have never in my life experience such terribleness

I have never in my life experience such a ‘shambles’ of a course. Not only is data insecurely handled but, we were even misinformed about the course title and level. It is only level 1 cybersecurity. You learn nothing significant. The greatest feed of information came from a random YouTube video.

The course is atrocious. It is severely poorly managed. Their is a clear like of coordination. This course will lead to burnout. Not because it is hard to do a level 1 course but, because no one on the team has any idea what they are doing. Their focus is on a workbook (made and designed by Twin and to the level of their limited knowledge).

I have gone from helping the class to potentially failing the course because they changed to expected work several times. One change was creating headings from a SMART plan. Initially my work had a smart plan but their failures to understand and check the actual work, made them say my work was wrong. Yet they receive funding for the course.

I Emailed the management and was ignored once I shared my thoughts. I then noticed a reviewer had share a similar experience.

I feel betrayed and taken advantage of. How can you treat people this way?

Several times the tutor left us to go to a meeting, DURING the course.

Don’ use this company

My advice to keep away from this company, I starting my cyber security course on 13 march 2023 with twin group and in the last 7 months they have changed admin team five times to mess there customers around, after they get there government funding you will get no proper training and will not help you to find work after as per there promise and probably not get your certificate for your course, I have still not received my cyber security certificate and its coming to eight month, also the staff have a regular pattern not respond to any of your voice messages or emails, its like there all been trained by the company to work like this.
