Introduction:
I have recently fallen victim to a fraudulent company that falsely claims to provide UK ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) applications, which misleads users into thinking it is the official UK government portal. The website in question is (Trustpilot do not allow website link) This company is not an official government entity but a third-party service provider, charging users for a service that could be accessed directly through the UK government's website at no additional cost.
Fraudulent Practices Identified:
Misleading Design: The website closely resembles the official UK government portal, leading users to believe it is an official service. However, it does not make clear at any point that it is a third-party platform.
Lack of Transparency: Upon applying for an ETA, users are redirected to the application form without any information about the fees or the nature of the service. This lack of clarity is deceptive and unethical.
Overcharging: The website charges users a service fee for processing ETA applications, despite the fact that the same application can be completed directly on the official UK government website at no extra cost.
No Response to Refund Requests: After paying for the service, I requested a refund, as the website did not comply with its own refund policies or timelines. However, the company has failed to respond, further demonstrating its fraudulent practices.
Data Privacy Concerns: The website collects personal data without informing users about how it will be used or providing an easy way to delete this information.
