WARNING: PREDATORY BANK

WARNING: PREDATORY BANK! Not BBB accredited due to large number of unresolved complaints. Has settled many class action lawsuits including one for $7.8 million alleging UMB reordered debit card transactions from highest to lowest dollar amount, causing excessive overdraft fees. Charges 31.74% for credit card interest rate. Pirated $2,280 out of my account in "excessive withdrawal charge (s)" (proof in hand), and won't return. No paper statements, no e-statement, and get this, no online account access because it wants to send verification code to my 2 year old phone number. With all the technology that exists, no notification thru email, and none thru mail either, just pure piracy in the dark. Also, while they smile at your face, simultaneously they type in a lot of nasty notes about you in their terminals. With all the $ I'm now making with Fidelity Investments, I feel stupid to have fallen for their lousy 4% CDs back when Dow was 37,248 and now it's 48,536. During their last low in 2023, they used depositors like me to stabilize and even expand. We made them big and we can make them small again.

UMB Bank took over my loved NMB-T in…

UMB Bank took over my loved NMB-T in Albuquerqu, NM. I loved my bank and the customer service on every level. They treated me like family, never had any banking issues and always easy to handle any type of situation. Without going into detail I will just say UMB is the WORST bank I've ever dealt with. If it was just my checking acct. and not a specialized account that is held here, I would be gone so fast! I want to wipe my hands clean of this bank with it's poor performance, cold, impersonal, rude and terrible customer service.
It asks below for date of experience...since day one!! I went into my branch one day, all familiar faces gone. Instead met by disinterested, cold, unfriendly blank personalities. Sad...

Terrible bank

Terrible bank. I wish I had switched sooner. I have a checking account and debit card through them. My card info was stolen in December and I asked for a new card. The card never came in. Called again for another new card, the card still hasn’t come in 3 months later. A couple years back I went into one of their locations to change my last name. Gave them my wedding cert info and everything. They said I was good to go. They called me to come back in a second time to sign an additional document. Left trusting they would do their part…Two years later I’ve just found out they failed to make the change! Either their employees have no idea what they’re doing or the entire system as a whole is broken.

The Salinas branch of UMB is engaging…

The Salinas branch of UMB is engaging in discriminatory practices against me regarding my account. My account is relatively new, and I have made several deposits, including a major deposit of $20,000, which was one of the first large deposits. I have several other deposits pending. My experience with them has been very unpleasant. They lied to me about the funds being released by the other bank, making it seem as if the other bank was withholding the funds, which is false. I have evidence to support this. I informed them that they had placed a hold on my account. I never requested the full amount to be withdrawn; I only asked for $2,700. Due to recent events in Mexico—my brother was tragically killed there—we needed to fly his body to California. I told them this when I called the customer service manager, Iman, who was very helpful. He contacted the branch that placed the hold on my funds. He said that the hold could be lifted and some of the funds released, but the branch denied this request. I feel that they are discriminating against me. The bank is very intrusive; whenever I enter the branch, not one, but two tellers pull up my account and review it openly. I find this to be a severe violation of privacy. The bank does not respect customer confidentiality in any way.

Useless

I spent a great deal of time unfreezing my credit twice and then increasing my credit limit just so I could use the card at Apmex. Every transaction I tried to buy gold with the card stalled and forced me to wait days and one time a week see if the charge went through and it never went through and my purchases were under my credit limit and I tried calling numerous times and never got a return call explaining why...I learned local dealers will beat Apmex prices so I've given up... Wasted so many hours for no reason
