Leaned a lot

I have just signed up to Unicourse doing there level 3 mechanical engineering. I had many questions and queries about the course, a lot of silly ones and repeated ones. In particular Sarah Carter helped me along to get me started and took all my emails and calls at any time of the day. She’s was really lovely to talk to and helpful no matter the question. Definitely made the process a lot smoother for me-thanks

I’ve recently completed my HND in Operations Engineering and I’m extremely pleased with the final outcome. As someone balancing a busy family life and a full-time job, having the flexibility to study at my own pace was incredibly valuable. I also appreciated that the course encouraged independent learning — I rarely needed to ask for help because I was given the right tools and guidance to carry out my own research rather than being spoon-fed information. Throughout the course, I was able to share my progress with my employer, which definitely contributed to my recent promotion. I would highly recommend this course to my colleagues. Vittorio

A very good option for additional training

Overall my course was excellent. Some of the unit workbooks could do with updating alongside the assignments as new assignments sometimes require additional information that wasn’t in the workbooks. All the tutors I dealt with were helpful and always available when needed.

First and foremost I am very grateful to UniCourse for the service they provide. I began a Mechanical Engineering HNC (along with the Bridging Maths course) with UniCourse in January 2023 and I have just completed my HND in July 2025 with a Distinction grade. The flexibility that is provided is excellent for those who are working full-time such as myself. The learning material is mostly good, but be prepared to do a large amount of independent research and study. The time that needs to be invested should not be underestimated, particularly with the course being 100% assignment based. If not already working in an engineering discipline, I believe some of the units like the design, project management, and research project would be extremely difficult to complete. I was able to apply these units to my work as a design engineer, but I found devising appropriate projects challenging regardless. Some tutors are more helpful than others in these units, and you are given limited guidance and support in selecting suitable projects. This may be due to limitations enforced on them by the awarding body. On the whole, the team at UniCourse are professional, polite, and attentive. Overall it has been a positive experience, and I believe UniCourse have continuously improved since I started studying with them, and will likely continue to improve their offering.

I did an HNC in electrical and electronic engineering. The basic core material provided in the workbooks was sufficient to understand what I needed to learn, and was able to use that knowledge to go and do my own research. It took me a moment to understand that HNC level is uni-level, and as such, learners are expected to do much of their own research, and once I understood this, the workbooks were a great asset to understanding the core concepts and being able to then search and research the information I needed. Unicourse offers support available to students at any time. I emailed tutors for guidance if I was unsure what a question was looking for, and they would be quick to get back to me - within a day or two at most - either by phone or email to clarify whether I had correctly understood. There were many unit options offered, and I don;t know how many times I went through a pile of units, trying to decide what I would do next. I have even saved some information so that I can study the knowledge in these units in my own time, after completing my HNC, as it's such a wealth of knowledge to benefit from. Accessing the material from the Moodle/Totara is straightforward. Many resources have been given to instruct on how to submit correctly, and how to assemble documents and evidence needed for the units. The course is a remote-learning experience, which has its pros and cons compared to physical attendance at a school, but the benefits of the Unicourse remote school far outweighed any cons for me. I was able to set my own study schedule, take it at a very reasonable pace that allowed me to fit it in around my life with a very young family - I gave birth shortly after I started the course to a sick child, and even with that, the flexibility of this course allowed me to work around my life and finally achieve my HNC. It's perfectly doable to complete the HNC under 2 years, but I needed nearly my full course time, and was very grateful for that. I did find some of the questions to be very broad in nature, and I personally found that harder not to address something more specific, meaning I spent time deciding how to approach the question, and struggled to keep word count at times! However, it also helped me develop those valuable skills of weighing up what is best, and having to choose what would best show my learning, and finally, learning to be more concise (still something I need a lot of work on!). Feedback from my tutors was constructive, and positive, and every time I read the feedback, I felt boosted and motivated onwards to the next unit. I'd like to thank all the tutors and staff at Unicourse, as they have all dealt with me very professionally and were always positive and welcoming in response to my queries. I may take a small break for a while, but I am certainly considering going further to HND in future.

Firstly, UniCourse addressed the prior learning accreditations better than other similar course providers.
The provision of the course content and access to material is easy and straight forward, particularly for remote learning.

Just completed my HNC with unicourse they offered great value and high quality training. I juggled this course around new jobs and 2 new born baby's which was hard but the flexibility of the training ment I could study at my own pace managing to gain a distinction grade. Highly recommend Unicouse to any one !
