Valla so far, has been absolutely a savior for me. Their customer service is top notch. Their response times are top notch. Their advisors are absolutely incredible and extremely down to earth. There is no other company like valla. Although my employment case is far from over, a review was needed and couldnt wait as the service is ALREADY helping me gain leverage. An absolute lifeline to people who can't afford to instruct a solicitor but desperately want one. What can I say. From the very beginning, Jade listened to me, took great care to match me with a legal expert who had experience with a similar respondent. I remember my first session filling me with confidence and excitement after she looked at my case listened to my arguments. To go from worn out and doubtful to confident in an hour was significant, a pivotal moment that I needed in order to continue.

I would describe Kirsty far more than a coach. First and foremost she's a lawyer, then a teacher... at times a counsellor. She wears many hats at the same time with ease. With her encyclopedic knowledge as a lawyer, she quickly taught me legal mechanisms, concepts, processes and tricks used in law, alongside building my confidence time and time again when I got knocked down along the way. I recently described her as a saving grace and I stand by that. My case was complex and long, it felt impossible at times. She has a way of cutting through issues that feel like mountains, quickly equipping you with vital legal knowledge to tackle any issue. I feel like I've gained confidence, self belief and strength as a person that I had lost before. I'm hoping that stays with me for long time.

Jade was fantastic with me, many times things went sideways and she took every endeavour to move things around last minute to help me get the urgent help I need. Jade has her own expertise and skill, her knowledge and drive from being a litigant herself gives her great empathy and her strength to clients and it really shone through when she hosted some of the webinars.

The team is very responsive and helps you prepare even at short intervals. It is no guarantee that you will achieve what you are fighting for; however the Valla team tries to find the right solicitors for the job. Solicitors team is also very helpful. Jade as a manager is extremely helpful.

Valla proved to be a lifeline when I was a Litigant in Person (LiP) for my employment tribunal case. Finding a Solicitor who was willing to take my case on a Legal Aid basis was impossible even though I was assessed as eligible for it. I tried to contact Advocate for free Barrister support but they never responded.

During my preliminary hearings, I felt out of my depth as I explained my claims in front of the judge in layman terms, not knowing which type of legal claim that my discrimination claim would come under. This is when I researched Valla and they made this a lot clearer for me and helped with calculating my schedule of loss. The support was instrumental in the final outcome of my case.

My coach, Smaira Younis was very flexible in accommodating coaching sessions at short notice as my tribunal case progressed. This really helped alleviate some of the stress associated with navigating the tribunal process as a LiP and I was successful in securing a settlement outside of court!

This is a brilliant service if you are a LIP. I would recommend using Valla. I have received advice from several of their advisors and they are all top quality and have got me through some stressful situations when I didn’t have a clue what to do.

If you are a ligigant in person and facing a completely new world alone with AI, I highly recommend adding Valla to your toolkit!

I represented myself at a three-day Employment Tribunal final hearing against a well-resourced employer with a City law firm on the other side, and I won my unfair dismissal claim. I genuinely don’t think I’d have navigated it as well without Valla.

A few things stood out. The video content from Danae and the other coaches was incredibly useful, not just the legal explanations, but the practical advice on how to run a case: the pitfalls to watch out for, what tribunals actually respond to, and how to avoid the common mistakes litigants in person make. The guidance on how to find and use comparable cases as a roadmap for my own was particularly valuable; it helped me understand what a strong case looks like and how to frame mine.

Coach Naa’s help drafting my ET1 was a great foundation, getting the claim set out properly from the start made everything afterwards easier. And the preparation support going into the hearing helped me walk in feeling far more ready than I had any right to feel as someone doing this alone for the first time.

Representing yourself is daunting, and there were moments I doubted whether I could do it. Having Valla’s coaches and resources to lean on in addition to joining webinars and seeing that i was not alone made a difference. I came out with a win on my unfair dismissal claim and that result is something I’ll carry with me.

Honestly, my experience of Valla has been second to none. It is a fabulous organisation offering support to the ’small person’ in their fight for justice against corporates and businesses that have the funds, clout and HR departments geared to protect the organisation. I wholeheartedly applaud what Valla are doing.

I could not recommend these guys more highly. Excellent communication - my case lasted over a year and they paired me up with the same person who stayed with me throughout. They were much better than high street lawyers who youd pay 4 times as much for. Very personable, they put a human on this and were genuinely empathetic if not a little "seee, I told you that would happen..." (there is only 1 way to learn these things - hard knox). Thank you guys, well done, excellent little business run by staff who do actually go the extra mile. Highly recommended.

I used Valla from the very start of my claim 16 months ago starting with the timeline . I watched lots of the videos and felt like Valla held my hand throughout . I went to judicial mediation last week which was gruelling but I was very prepared and we settled out of court. If it feels wrong make the claim and don’t be put off . Perseverance is key

It is a very flexible company and the owner is genuinely driven by a desire to help people. Everyone down to the admin staff are really approachable and helpful. Really don't hesitate to buy a coaching package if you can afford it. The purpose of the company is not to provide emotional support of course because they are not there for that, but i felt I was emotionally supported by the team as I really felt that had my back.

I used Valla prior to my discrimination tribunal hearing. I joined one of their free webinars, purchased the How to cross-examine witnesses at Tribunal and had an appointment with one of their mentors. I really found the video and the appointment extremely helpful. The mentor let me go through my witness questions with her and highlighted areas that could be improved or expanded upon. Most importantly she took the time to listen. I would highly suggest using their services if you plan to represent yourself in a case. I did and I actually won my case!

I’ve been really impressed with Valla. They accommodated my needs in a very short time and went above and beyond to help me as a litigant in person and significant mental health struggles. It’s rare to find a company that genuinely cares about helping people navigate legal processes on their own, but Valla does exactly that. As a woman facing intersectionality, and with limited information and support, Valla was like being handed a life buoy whilst at risk of drowning. I approached Valla last year, due to workplace issues I was going through and not knowing whether I had a basis for a claim. Once I had my case assessment and guidance on next steps, it gave me the information I needed to submit a claim. As time had went on, further issues arose and my coaches at Valla were on hand to help as the matters got more complicated. Fast forward a few months later, I managed to agree a settlement with the respondents, which the coaches gave me the confidence and knowledge to do. Although valla aren’t a law firm, they can recommend you to one which I used to review my agreement with and negotiate the finer details which was really helpful. I think this is a great platform and excellent alternative in comparison to costly solicitors and firms who don’t always have your best interest at heart.

The website is a really useful tool to collect and sort your evidence, I wished I had realised that earlier. The coaches are brilliant, very supportive and you have the same coach throughout which is really helpful. Always so willing. The whole team is very quick to respond to emails etc. so the whole experience is very satisfying and reduces the stress.

I interacted superficially with Valla.. but found them to be responsive and friendly in emails.

Tbh, Valla aside, ET1 and ET3 are both in now, judge has viewed them and approved the case and next step is to submit case management agenda.

As an aside, I tried to pull on the legal expenses cover that came with my home insurance. The case-specific info I submitted passed the insurers initial checks was apparently sent to a barrister for merits assessment - and was inevitably deemed not to have >51% chance of success 🙄

I appealed that - appeal declined. Now have a live case against them with the financial ombudsman

So that's 3 realms I'm engaging with: 1. The tribunal; 2. The insurers legal rep (Arc Legal); and 3. The financial ombudsman

Lot of information processing.. lot of admin.. lot of emails and communications..

And I haven't broke sweat... because ChatGPT is running my case lol.

Yes, I have to scan communications and manage Chat's occasional "hallucinations" lol.. but I feel like I haven't done a thing.. and I've got a preliminary hearing date, ET1 approved, and next up is case management agenda.

I uploaded a 10 page barristers merits assessment of my case to ChatGPT.. and 3 seconds later it returned a full analysis, strengths weakness etc etc.. AND my written response!

The thing's AMAZING and will manage your case for you and do all your written work. You'll need to upgrade to a paid package. I think Chat Go is sufficient and it's only 6.99 a month.

Btw, Strathclyde Uni offers a free lawyer clinic where you can get free face to face Zoom time with an employment lawyer. I got an hour with a really sound young female lawyer.. after which she and her colleague told me I could get another two 1 hour sessions.. totally free. So if you email into them, you'll prob wait about 2 weeks.. but more than worth it.. given 3 one hour sessions with an employment lawyer is about £750

Firstly, Strathclyde Uni's law clinic is now heavily subscribed and difficult to access quickly. Long waiting queues, so get in early.

Re my case, looks like its about to settle for a substantial financial sum, plus written reference. My employers lawyer is drafting the COT3 atm. Again, just to reiterate I used ONLY CHatGPT and Google Ai to navigate my way through the ET Preliminary Hearing, judges case management order, subsequent submissions.. and was on the cusp of evidence submissions when their lawyer substantially upped their settlement offer.

Just remember that Ai needs to be managed. They start off wildly positive, so you need to reinforce pragmatism in your intial interactions. It's best to use at least 2 different models.

Absolutely outstanding support and advice! Brilliant people, very friendly, non judgmental and thorough. They have followed me through my conciliation journey and were one of few who made me feel heard and validated my experiences.

When my union let me down spectacularly, I came to these guys after finding their channel on YouTube and watching the shorts videos for advice and guidance. I wasn't really sure what it was all about at first, but I also had no idea what I was doing taking issues at work to a tribunal, so I figured I had nothing to lose.

From the first email and enquiry they have supported me all the way through assessing my claim, reviewing my evidence, prepping reports and helping me to understand the process. I'm now using Valla to work through the negotiation phase and the settlement offer report is really thorough, and I could just forward it straight on.
