Dr Gavin Chan has no credentials listed…

Dr Gavin Chan has no credentials listed on his website or social media accounts relating to his training or qualifications in liposuction and fat transfers. Yet in an online enquiry the Victorian Cosmetic Institute claims that he is one of the best liposuction surgeons in Melbourne.

According to the college he attended (ACCSM), Dr Gavin Chan only did 2-5 days worth of training in liposuction & fat transfers and never actually completed the workshop so he really doesn't have any formal qualifications to provide if asked by a patient.

From my personal experience, always request a consent form to sign for every treatment you have as Dr Gavin Chan has a habit of not providing one and always ask for a copy of your medical file after each procedure as he has a history of writing incomplete and incorrect clinical notes.

Countless honest and genuine 1 star Google reviews on the Victorian Cosmetic Institute have been removed, the same 5 star reviews have been posted on other review platforms under different usernames, recycled review bumped up to the top, a current 5 star review where Dr Gavin Chan has replied 2 years earlier and reviews posted by former and present staff members.

My review has been removed multiple times and my current review is only visible to me and not the general public as my Google account has been tampered with. I have no other option but to post this review on a different review site.

Just recently Dr Gavin Chan posted my personal photos in his YouTube video without my knowledge or consent claiming I was his first patient he MRI’d, another lie. Dr Gavin Chan is just a medical practitioner, not even a GP. Only a radiographer or radiologist can perform an MRI.

Dr Gavin Chan might want to take another good look at my photos before posting them in his YouTube video because it is the permanent damage I hold him personally responsible for.

Dr Gavin Chan has also tried to silence me and many others on numerous occasions with threats of legal action for posting honest accounts of our experience. He had 12 months to sue me for defamation in the Federal Court of Australia but never followed through with his threats because he has a lot to lose if the media gets a hold of it and it goes public.

In my personal opinion I believe it is in the public's best interest that they be made aware of Dr Gavin Chan and his unethical behaviour as a medical practitioner. Dr Gavin Chan needs to stop from misleading the general public by coming across as more experienced and more qualified than he actually is.

EDIT: Dr Gavin Chan no longer advertises himself as a “Liposuctionist” on the Victorian Cosmetic Institute’s website after complaints were made to AHPRA.
