Another excellent video
Another excellent video! My first virtual ‘trip’ on the route between Perth and Dundee! I’ve awarded 4 Stars rather than five because I dearly wanted to continue on to Aberdeen from Dundee! It’s good to see decent units (the HSTs) continuing to work in service. They’re far more passenger friendly than modern units! Rob.

We did put a short trailer on the end of the production alluding to the Northern Lights continuing to Aberdeen. Due to that production we decided to concentrate our resources on the previously unseen section. That alone took weeks to film with three separate cab runs each requiring significant organisation not to mention four different signalling areas and nine signal boxes. It is true that the Northern Lights is now quite old but that in itself has merits, for example the Valenta powered full length original HST. Of course the civil engineering and history has changed little too.
'The North Downs Line' Bringing Me Back Some Nice Memories!
I recently bought the download version of 'The North Downs Line' and am pretty happy with my purchase and the film. I used to take the train on this route fairly often in years past, mainly from Dorking Deepdene to Gatwick and back for planespotting. And, to me at least, I think the video has done the memories I have justice hopefully. With many thanks!

Quality memories
I moved to Australia in 2016, aged 74. I now have a collection of Video 125 dvds which bring back many happy memories of lines travelled in the past, and also act as a reminder of the UK countryside which I miss. These memories are enhanced by the quality of the dvds.

Purchase was great but do not like the disc.
The purchase and delivery were first rate. I am disappointed with the content as I would prefer to have the films separated from the continuity links not dissolved in. It destroys the 60’s feel.

Thank you for the review. "Look at Life Civil Aviation" comprises six short colour films made in the ’60s by the Rank Film company. Between each, we added an introduction by BBC journalist Rob Curling, filmed in classic 1960’s aircraft at the Brooklands aircraft museum.
We’re sorry that the dissolves between Rob’s links and the archive films weren’t to your taste.
