I’m a very slow learner at almost 80 years old and full of arthritis so I really appreciate that I can work at my own pace. Julia’s explanations are perfect. I am learning a lot, and I can watch the videos as often as I need. And she’s cheery and funny!

My experience with Julia is very positive. She is a wealth of information and knowledge. Always a teacher I turn to in times of difficulties and uncertainty. Playing the violin as an adult has its ups and downs with plenty of frustration. As she has on her wall. Practice practice practice, but the key to practice has to be structured. Teacher Julia is enthusiastic and inviting. Without pressure, she teaches you how to play the violin step by step. And you can watch her explanations again and again in the videos.

This is very practical ecspecialy for me being older. The course is on a very comfy level , not to complicated . Videos are of good quality and I love the way that different camera angles are used to indicate propper posture of hands etc. This is mobey well spend. I could not play even a note on the violin but now as I enter module 5 I am already able to play a few easy songs. Thank you and well done Julia

The Violin Starter Kit was just what I needed as a complete beginner.It was easy to follow and contained lots of videos which helped me to clearly understand what was being taught.

Would I recommend this resource to my family and friends? Yes, I would.
I am in my mid seventies and have found this thorough, accessible and friendly. I sing and play several instruments. I wanted to add the violin to my repertoire so proceeded to teach myself. This was fine until I sprained my wrist tendon which stopped my playing for about three months.
I thought it time then to re-visit basics to learn what, if anything, I was doing wrong. This included poor bow hold, poor left-hand positioning and incorrect fingering. I have taken my time ensuring I apply the principles shown and have made good progress. This course was exactly what I needed to refine and improve my playing.

The violin is a beautiful sounding instrument that takes much dedication in order to play well. The dedication I am speaking about contains two key ingredients. This academy gives you online access to systematic courses to develop your violin skills from the very basics to beginner, improver, intermediate, and beyond. There are opportunities to attend practice sessions with academy members, monthly recitals to help you get comfortable playing for others in a low-stakes environment, and plenty of instructional master classes, such as one on note reading. You'll find plenty of support and encouragement from fellow violin enthusiasts and the JVA staff. You can submit videos for feedback to further hone your skills. I can't say enough good things about this academy! Worth every penny!

Julia's Violin Academy offers a very well structured teaching method which is easy to follow and enjoy. It's a comprehensive program for skills building which I thoroughly recommend.

I began learning the violin as a 42 year old. And overwhelmed is an understatement for how I felt. I do use an offline instructor. And when I saw I began, I mean with no prior knowledge of sheet music, notes, and sight reading. Out of interest I would lookup every single term around violin playing, and Julia's Violin Academy would show up. I got started with the free resources, and eventually I signed up for the programme. I am definitely please with how simplified the instruction is. Of course, progress depends on my own practice. No matter who you learn from, without practice it's all futile. Julia's Violin Academy gave me the ability to believe that I can stay course and keep at it, and the little fruits of progress fill me with so much joy that it all feels totally worth it.

The violin starter kit is a very fruitful online training programme, with YouTube videos and some PDF files, a step by step guidance tools. From there you will receive many fruitful instructions to enhance the skill or techniques.

I am an adult beginner in violin. I found Julia's violin starter kit online and purchased it. I cannot recommend this enough. There is a wealth of information for absolute beginners with easy to follow video tutorials and downloadable PDF''s.
I found the answers to many questions and am still working through the exercises. I have progressed much faster than I expected. From scales and bow practise to 'practise plans' along with daily encouragement.

I recently enrolled in Julia's Violin Starter Course as an adult student (81 years old). I started taking private lessons from a local Music Academy 10 months ago and now using this course as a "double" to enhance my violin playing abilities.I find the course to be very satisfying, infused with details and demonstrative videos. The course is very well structured and has encouraged me to practice in longer daily sessions.
