I absolutely HATE these adverts!!

I absolutely HATE these adverts which are shown continually on UK television!!
We already have many thousands of people suffering in our own country who need and deserve help and really don't need to concern ourselves with the people of other countries where their own governments clearly don't care!!

The thing I fail to understand is, in order to advertise on UK television, it costs hundreds and hundreds of thousands of pounds, therefore, Wateraid must be spending millions of pounds on advertising!!
If it isn't some kind of scam or tax write off,
then why not spend all that advertising money on the cause it proclaims to care so much about!!
Because I'm sure, just like myself,
many people will just change the channel until the advert has gone off, or will just choose to completely ignore it!!
Either way, they will get NO or very little money in return for the millions they're spending!!
Am I the only one who can see this??

Ethics

Would somebody like to comment on the ethics of the television companies accepting money to run these ads?

Tv Avert

The tv advert with the teacher and her pupils is unconvincing. What water does she drink?

Patronising wateraid Ad

Wateraid's latest advert uses an unrealistic, stereotyped image of a girl bringing filthy water to school, which misrepresents and patronizes communities who already understand water safety and have their own filtration and boiling practices. While clean-water access is a real issue, portraying people this way is crass, inaccurate, and undermines their dignity

I don’t trust this charity seem to be…

I don’t trust this charity seem to be housed in the most expensive offices in London. The advert although there is a need is boring and unconvincing especially the guy in the glasses reading from a prompt, and now this new one “what on earth is it about or what is it trying achieve” absolutely rubbish. Why not actually publish the successes which will aid viewers to what has actually been achieved where and when.

Why is a charity that is exhorting us…

Why is a charity that is exhorting us to give them money based in some of the most expensive accommodation in London? Surely they could save a considerable amount of the money that is donated by renting less lavish accommodation.
There is plenty of excellent and much less expensive accommodation available in the provinces.

Having visited several countries in Africa in person, I have never seen a child drink dirty water as seen on your TV adverts..
African mothers wouldn’t allow this, you people have no idea, don’t formulate lies and pluck on heart strings of those not able to visit my home country (Rhodesia) Zimbabwe..

STOP THE LIES!

I saw the TV ad asking for £2 a month…

I saw the TV ad asking for £2 a month to help provide clean water for children in certain countries. I rang the number and tried to give £5 a month via direct debit. The female staff member tried to guilt trip me into donating £10 a month as this would also stop people dying in other countries. If I trusted it would reach them, I would. I cut the call immediately . Shameful .

It’s a complete scam

It’s a complete scam, very unlikely they have ever been to Africa, Tim Wainwright (CEO) gets £134.067.00 from your donations for working with a few admin staff in a small office on Canada Square in London. Their ads spew complete lies with dying children at around 1,000 a day from dirty water, a number the Government's in Africa were not even aware of. In my opinion it’s all complete rubbish (feel free to prove us wrong)

Their advert is obscene, the children are healthy, well nourished, and collecting clean water. The management are ripping off donations for admin and self fulfilment. Don't give to this rip off bunch of self fulfilling management.

Water aid advert is insulting and deeply patronising. It is inaccurate. No parent will their child water that it is known can kill. We collect rain water, we boil and sieve contaminated water before usage. The advert portrays stupidity and as if no sense or care is taken into consideration and just drink water that can kill. Yes clean pipe water is needed by don’t use the advert for donations. It is grossly offensive.

The advert is ridiculous

The advert is ridiculous, what will improve viewers thoughts and support is if we see an updated advert. Not one saying about installing pumps and taps and sh. Make an advert showing thhe people actually having pumps and taps and say thank you for continued support and show gratitude. Stop begging and pleading with the same waterside advert on channels like more4. Omg

Caring employees

it not about the work but i just met one of their employees in buckinghamshire and he was so sweet, I needed a taxi desperately because I was lost and it was raining. He immediately agreed, put a jacker on me and let me charge my phone and he called me a taxi and waited for it to arrive.

Despite telling Wateraid several times that they are sending mail to our address which is for the previous owner they still persist in sending more! Don’t waste your money donating to this lot as they just throw it away sending mail to folk who are not remotely interested!!

£2 a month wasted

Wateraid along with many other so called charity organisations that advertise for your hard earned contributions that a lot of people can ill afford.
£2 a month or £24 a year needs over 7000 people to sign up just to pay the CEO salary and advertising costs. Whilst I appreciate that organisations need a business structure why not recruit from wealthy people who could do the work for nothing on a voluntary basis.

What a load of rubbish

I am so tired of seeing all these type of adverts, celebrities who have more cash than I can even count asking people who cannot afford to eat or have the heating on during the winter to donate.
If you care so much give them your money.
How many years do we have to put up with this, the amount of monies given to causes like this they should all be drowned by the amount of water we ve given them over the last 50 years.
I wish I could get water for £2 a month.
Start thinking about people in poverty in the UK, people on the breadline who are working until they are 70 and continually contributing to the system but getting nothing for it.
