Absolutely terrible quality, the westinghouse easy care 500 is the worst washing machine i have ever dealt with. As a repairer stay away from westinghouse all together.

Unreliable products nowadays. Had an issue with fridge. Now after 2 years dishwasher has given way. Motor changed. Valve replaced. Now motherboard. Aud 550’ total cost.

Kelvinator/Westinghouse Service call and upgrade

I purchased a Kelvinator fridge on boxing day and had issues temperature. Wasn't as cold as i would have expected. I logged a call with Electrolux. they are both Kelvinator and Westinghouse. Service guy came out and we talked. I have no heating or cooling and the Kelvinator only has a single sensor so he believed a Westinghouse with 2 sensors would be more fit for purpose. The call went back through the support people and i have to say that from the Initial logging of the call, through the service technician, the support team, delivery team and even the delivery driver, i have never had a more supportive or responsive experience. Everyone was helpful and understanding. The product is good, even the Kelvinator (just not suitable for me). The people were excellent. I have no problem recommending the products or people.

If I can give it zero star I would give…

If I can give it zero star I would give this brand zero star ! It is absolutely the worst fridge you can ever got!!!! We got it for less than a year. At first the freezer was not working and now it is making a drilling noise like a construction site!
Called them to complain that their product is faulty. I had to wait on the phone for 40 mins and when someone finally answered they put me on hold of a long time. The customer service’s attitude was poor as well!!!
They say they are an American company the product is actually made in Thailand !
Highly suggest you to consider carefully before buying.

Westinghouse Top Mount Fridge Freezer…

Westinghouse Top Mount Fridge Freezer WTB5400SB

This fridge freezer is an absolute dud. And the service experience to date has not been any better.

We purchased it 4 months ago and woke one morning to find all the food in the freezer defrosted. Both the freezer and fridge are not cooling properly and the repairer has advised that it needs a new fan. It's just me and my husband here and the fridge / freezer is only half full at the best of times and barely opened during the day, so it's not like it's getting hammered. There really is no reason for the fan in this appliance to break down, other than poor quality materials and workmanship.

In terms of the warranty provided by Westinghouse / Electrolux, what it doesn't provide for is the inconvenience you have to go through. We had to wait 6 days for a repairer to tell us this, and we now need to wait a further 6 days for the part to arrive and for the repair to be made (and who knows what's going to break down next). What you're not compensated for is:

- the time you need to take off work to be available for the repairer (they only commit to coming between 7am and 5pm)
- the cost of all your defrosted food which needs to be disposed of
- plus the 2nd hand bar fridge you'll have to buy so you can at least have milk, butter and fresh vegetables. (it was either that, or go out to buy ice every day for the esky)

The people in the service centre I've spoken to to date are completely indifferent and clearly have to deal with a lot of disgruntled customers. Hence the reason there was 25 ahead of me in the queue when I called at 11am this morning.

Totally regret buying this fridge and will not be buying anything from Westinghouse, Electrolux again. Absolutely appalling product and service. Don't go near them with a ten foot barge pole.

Oven Glass Exploding 2 times in 2 1/2 Years.

I Contacted them and guest what they told me i had to pay for the service of the item because the warranty expire 6 moths ago but this is the seconds time the Oven Glass door has exploded. Even under my Statutory Rights as mention below the Lady said no. HOw can people pay thousands of dollars and the product keeps breaking and some to the extents that its a Health and Safety Hazards. Exploding glass when you have family around.

Statutory rights are not limited to a set time
period. Instead, they apply for the amount of time
that is reasonable to expect, given the cost and
quality of the item.
This means a consumer may be entitled to a
remedy under their statutory rights after any
manufacturer’s voluntary or extended warranty has
expired.
For example, it is reasonable to expect that an
expensive television should not develop a serious
fault after 13 months of normal use. In this case,
the consumer could argue the item was not of
merchantable quality and ask for it to be repaired,
even if the manufacturer’s voluntary warranty had
expired.

Who must provide a remedy?

Sellers – Each sale is a contract between the
seller and the consumer. So if the seller breaches
the contract by providing goods that do not
meet a statutory warranty or condition, it is their
responsibility to provide a remedy.
If a seller has to return goods to a manufacturer
for assessment or repair, the seller should arrange
delivery.
The law allows sellers to recover the cost of the
remedy from the goods’ manufacturer or importer,
if the problem was related to a manufacturing
fault.

Manufacturers and importers – The law also gives
consumers the right to pursue a manufacturer or
importer for a remedy, even if goods were bought
from a retailer. However, manufacturers and
importers are not required to issue refunds unless
the consumer purchased the goods directly from
them – that is, they have a contract of sale with

Consumers’ responsibilities – goods
The law aims to give consumers and sellers a fair
go. It is not designed to protect consumers if they
are careless or make unreasonable demands.

exchanges if consumers:
• change their minds, decide they do not like
the goods or have no use for them (except
in cases where other legislation provides for
a ‘cooling off’ period – for example, door-todoor sales)

• discover they can buy the goods cheaper
elsewhere (except where the seller provides
a guarantee that the goods cannot be
purchased cheaper elsewhere)

• examine the goods before buying and ought to
have seen any obvious fault

• had the defect drawn to their attention before
buying (for instance, when goods were labelled
as seconds, or faults were clearly marked)

• damage the goods by using them in a way they were not meant to be used."

Purchased a flat screen

Purchased a flat screen, it lasted under two years and prior to crapping out it'd shut off by itself finally one morning I go to turn it on and all I get is audio. Screen was completely dead, black, off...get it lol anyways stay away from Westinghouse electronics.

Very nice item

Easy to install, works very well. There was a fan control in the box which I consider a bonus since I had already bought one.
