Since being forced to move onto the dental plan from NHS, no choice or no dentist, i have found the dentist to be extremely money driven with lack of care for the patient. It feels more like a vets surgery with the crazy prices. Dentist said i should blame the government for them no longer taking NHS!!! Having previously received exceptional service as an NHS patient and as a private patient for cosmetic dentistry i now feel the Middlesbrough based surgery is no longer the same place. Most recent plan appointment for check up and clean and polish, i received the check up but no clean and polish as nurse off sick, was rebooked for the clean and polish but again did not get the said clean which is part of my plan as the dentist checked my teeth again and said my gums bled so no point doing it as the blood would stain my teeth! Bare in mind i have visited the dentist since childhood twice a year, i brush my teeth twice daily, use inter dental brushes daily, floss when needed and use mouthwash, i take care with my teeth hence the previous 3200 cosmetic treatment but my gums are so bad they cannot do the clean and polish procedure? I do not think so. The next appointment to look at further cosmestic dentistry, basically wanted the same treatment as before which i was very pleased with before the government stopped the dentist having NHS, yes i know they didnt the business chose to stop due to money. This time im given a 15 minute rushed assessment, previously paid for a full consultation which i would have done again had i been asked, only to be told very little information about the procedure this time, no complete walk through as before, the bits i did pick up on basically amounted to me paying the same price for just the product being placed on my teeth and nothing else. Totally lost trust now, many friends having poor experiences too hearing too much, sadly time to change to a better service for me i think after 30 years with same dentist.
