Can't recommend What records enough. Everytime I place an order the items are the cheapest online for Vinyl and are always packed with great care. Very quick turnaround from order to delivery. Very happy once again. Thank you Tim. 👍

I became a wee bit nervous due to the lack of an email confirmation, but glad I was patient. My order arrived safely, was well-packaged and plays beautifully. Thank you!

Placed my order on 10 Oct 2025, waited 16 days before chasing for a shipping notice. It was a further 2 weeks before they came back to say it would be shipped within the week - nothing was shipped.
They are now ignoring my emails and I'm £36 out of pocket.
Find your vinyl elsewhere, you'll never see it from here.

It's been 10 days since I placed my order (268645), and I still have absolutely no idea what is happening with it. I have not received a single update.
Nobody respond to messages- it feels like my order has just disappeared into a void.
I am genuinely frustrated and disappointed. At this point , I do not even know if I will ever receive what I paid for. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend What Record to anyone.

Placed an order on 16th November.
Chased for an update on dispatch on 20th November to be told they were awaiting stock of one vinyl despite it being in stock at time of purchase and still showing as being in stock now. Was told it would be dispatched the next day (21st).
No update so emailed again on 24th Nov to be told the items they had in stock would be dispatched.
Still waiting for an update, all items still showing as in stock on the website.
Asked politely 2 days ago for a refund if there was still a stock issue and have had no response.

Ordered a 3LP version that was seemingly in stock (as other Stereolab 3LP issues were showing as out of stock). Then the issues started:
Never got an order notification from these guys.OK, checked junk mail, nothing there. So not a good start.
Contacted them and they said it was out of stock.
They offered to refund which I accepted.
Then I never received my refund. Again and again I asked what was happening and just got ‘wait 5 days’ (which I did, still no refund), ‘has refund got to you now?’, ‘let us know’ and now just silence. So I had to go through PayPal myself in the end with a complaint and they refunded.
Be warned! Not professional, not refunded. I’ll never use them again.
And I notice the item is still showing as in stock on their site, so they just don’t seem to care.

Ordered latest Tom Grennan vinyl album special edition, What records were the best price. A few negative reviews on here which did make me think twice but nevertheless I had no need for concern as delivery was very quick and the record I wanted at a great price. Great service, will use again, thanks guys 👍.

Failed to deliver a pre-order that had been paid for a couple of months beforehand.

Asked for update, prompt reply advising it would be chased up. After a week I had heard nothing, cancelled the order and also and second order for three albums that was over 28 days old.

15 days for refund on both orders from a debit card after querying length of time.

I prefer to buy from independent record dealers but:

1. If you can't timeously fulfill a pre order for a limited album, even after a query, then you have an issue.

2. If you don't have it in stock and have your customer wait over 28 days then you shouldn't be attempting to sell it.

I note the three albums I attempted to purchase are now showing out of stock.

I note the pre order is still showing in stock and I will be purchasing it from another dealer.

Purchased Thr Rolling Stones coloured vinyl boxset from Whatrecords. Excellent service, the best price on the net, and next day delivery despite only ordering late afternoon. Well packaged too. Highly recommended and will now be my first port of call when buying records online. .

Best price I found for a very expensive box set.
I was a bit worried as the price was so good but I needn't be. Very fast despatch via dpd and all was great.
No free delivery but didn't mind as the original price was so good.

Hesitated to buy from a company I wasn't familiar for such a big purchase - Rolling Stones in Mono boxed set - but took the plunge and it paid off. Loads cheaper than other outlets and arrived the next day, well packaged and in perfect sealed condition.

Ordered vinyl with no delivery date when I asked for it they told me it weren’t in stock no more instead of offering a refund to me they instead they just told me they didn’t have it in stock and said they don’t know when I will get it I ordered on a Tuesday for it to turn up on Father’s Day

No updates at all from what records after them taking money immediately from me. . Asked why and they said they would chase it up. No response to the supposed chasing up at all and now ignoring all my chasing emails. Wish I had read the reviews before ordering. Never again. Order number is 266333

Don’t say you have vinyl in stock that you don’t. I always prefer to buy off independent record companies. Your behaviour lets everyone down. You gave me the refund as you didn’t have the vinyl you pretended you had. It’s that simple.

After placing my order for two records (very reasonably priced) I checked past reviews here, and feared that I might have a bad experience. I am delighted to say that my experience was fantastic! Despite the company website acting up (my order didn’t show up under my account, but luckily I had an order reference), Tim was highly responsive to my messages, despatched the items quickly, and they arrived well-packaged, brand new sealed and exactly as described. Thank you very much for an A+ transaction. Recommended.
