Wickhams | Wine Merchant Opiniones

We ordered 12 bottles of wine at an event on 3.5.25 where Wickhams were offering wine tasting. Had a electronic receipt and at that time were assured our order would be processed and delivered.

It arrived today, 2.6.25 - over 4 weeks later. At no time during that period were we contacted with any update or apology from Wickhams despite chasing ourselves several times. Just as well we didn't want the order for an event ourselves.
Will not be ordering from them again.

Great wines and swift service.Delivery free for orders over £40 which is rare but welcome!Extremely good, recyclable packaging.
A particular shout out for their Caizergues Les Bobines Languedoc Viognier white wine which is a full bodied, full flavoured Languedoc beauty.

We purchased a case of wine for an elderly relative from Wickhams Wines. Evri failed to deliver it when promised, several times. I ran Wickhams to alert them to Evri's incompetence and spoke to Tracey. Her response was that the most important thing was to get the wine there and organised a duplicate case to be delivered by Parcelforce, which arrived safely the following day. Her whole attitude reflected a real desire for customer service and turned a very disappointing experience into one that left a lasting good impression.

Great wines with quick delivery and non-pretentious on-line tastings which are the perfect mix of education and fun.

ps I’m no relation despite the name!!

Have used for over a year. Started fine...delivery in full and timely by Parcelforce.

Then started to go astray. Delays, incomplete orders, substitutes without agreement. Should have avoided then.

Just gave a final chance. Next day delivery took 5 days...they seem to have switced to Hermes (Evri) presumably to increase their profits. 2x Bottles missing (£59) despite claiming despatched. Mendacious response to mails in which (to be fair) admitted not sending but claiming they had. Appeared inherent fault means this could happen without any checks by them thereby boosting profits
...up to customer to notice. No evidence of refund provided...naturally could 'take 10 days' despite managing to take payment instantly. Then repeated mails from purported owner which as a female I found aggressive and harassing having having told them not to contact given likely litigation.

You may want to consider avoiding. Plenty of other suppliers who may be more competitive and more customer focussed.

Great evening with Dan. Learned a great deal about tasting, climate variation in Spain, DOCs, what goes well with different wines. Terrific value to get all this - 6 mini bottles of wine which arrived in the post with information about Spanish regions. The Zoom call was excellent and in an hour and a half I learned a lot of useful information about the wines of Spain.

Wanted to send six bottles of white wine for a surprise present. Website so easy to use. Great choice. And my friends are so happy with their wine. Rest assure this company is so easy and trustworthy. You will be so happy using Wickhams, which finding a great, trustworthy company these days is hard to find.

Wickhams is the sort of wine merchant everyone would like in their home town.
A good range of wines, enthusiastic people, and an excellent program of informative and educational in-person and Zoom tastings.
In particular their Grape Series of Zoom Tastings are fantastic value for money - 6 sample size wines delivered to your home, to be tasted via an interactive (if you wish!) Zoom session.

what a thoroughly enjoyable 90 minutes
My first experience of online wine tasting - loved it - definitely coming back for another one!

Fab as always - very informative and great wines to try!

We took part in Wickham Wines’ introduction to the wines of Devonshire from 14th July 2023-16th July 2023.

We thoroughly enjoyed a relaxed and interesting weekend. It was based in the very comfortable house of Sharpham Wine in Sandridge Barton and was impeccably organised. There was a broad range of English wines to taste over the long weekend from Huxbear, Sharpham, the Langham Estate, Lyme Bay and Calancombe and tours of the Sharpham Wines vineyard at Sandridge Barton and of Calancombe's vineyard. The food, as well as the wine, was excellent and included, as well as a trip to the excellent restaurant of the Bull Inn in Totnes, a fine lunch at the Circa restaurant at Sharpham Wines.

Our hosts, Dan and Pip were knowledgeable, well-organised and full of enthusiasm and were the primary reason the weekend went so well. There were nine people on the weekend, a group of five friends and our group of four. The two groups might easily not have mixed but Dan and Pip, infectiously friendly, ensured that we were soon comfortable in one another’s company and sharing our enthusiasm for English wine and many other things.

It was quite the best series of wine tastings that I have attended and I should thoroughly recommend Wickham Wines' tours to anybody interested in wine who would like a relaxed and enjoyable long weekend led by knowledgeable and friendly experts.

Really good experience sampling the same wine, Sauvignon Blanc but produced from all over the world and even the Southern Hemisphere.
Very informative hosts who could easily answer all the questions thrown at them.

Another great virtual wine tasting by Wickhams. Great to have the opportunity to sample some rather lovely wines, but also be educated and introduced to unknown wines in the process. White Malbec - who'd have thought!

These are some of the most entertaining and best value wine tastings anywhere. Pip and Dan are knowledgeable and friendly and the whole set up from the delivery to the quality of the wines is exceptional. Highly recommended to beginners and experts alike.

Very entertaining and informative evening. Great selection of wines format works really well

Pip is very knowledgeable and explains things clearly and a lively manner. There is great chemistry between her and Dan and their exchanges during the tasting are enjoyable and informative. They have taken great care in selecting the wines for the tasting and made the whole experience a great occasion.

Loved it - Pip and Dan warm and welcoming as always, ready to answer questions - and great wines! Looking forward to the next one in March.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Wine tasting from home with wine experts and a friendly bunch of fellow wine lovers on zoom, what not to like?
Wine samples arrived a couple of days prior to the event, 100ml each so plenty to not just sample, but also enjoy!
The format of the evening is as simple as it is effective. Interractive if you wish, but camera is not compulsory and you can just relax in your favorite seat, with a generous helping of any nibbles you like. You'll get to try wines that are not among the most commercially available, but rather take you on a journey of discovery throughout the world. Intriguing, tasty, at times quirky wines that are worth discovering.
Well, it's fun, it's cheap, it's worth it and I wonder if NHS should consider it as perfect medicine against daily stress. try it, no regret guaranteed!

What a wonderful informative evenings wine tasting with a twist. The “Call my Bluff” idea was inspiring. A really enjoyable experience with very knowledgeable experts. Thanks Dan, Pip & Janina .Would highly recommend to wine lovers everywhere.

Superb fun. Wine Education and wine fun in equal measure. The chemistry between the presenters had us in stitches and is a great addition to our working week. A must for all. Good info on wines as well as being most importantly, delicious. Hugely recommend!
