Shame on Wilson parking

Shame on Wilson parking for Charing me a $86 fine and refusing to reverse it despite appealing. I am a staff member of Health NZ and my husband was having a heart attack and I had to rush him to Middlemore hospital. To save on time where every second is precious in such circumstances I parked in the visitor parking using my staff card and was given an infringement notice. They have responded with a reason stating not sufficient reason to validate a refund. Wilson Parking has no ethics or scruples as $86 is more valuable than Human life. Shame on them where they make money at the cost of lives!!

Highly NOT Recommended

If I could do .5 of a star for this joke of a parking service Wilson's provides i would.
$62 for 2hours 55min not only did the parking lot not show any hourly pricing on entry or any information around. I begrudgingly payed the bill to get my vehicle out.
Worst business around parking service.
Highly don't recommend

Avoid using ParkMate Guest QR codes at…

Avoid using ParkMate Guest QR codes at Wilson Parking facilities unless you want endless administrative stress.
I paid $2.50 via their Guest QR web link within 3 minutes of entering. Despite Wilson Parking collecting my money, PES issued Breach Notice 300585647 for "No Valid Payment" on vehicle (not gonna mention).
When I tried to get a receipt, Wilson Parking had no history of my payment at all and redirected me to PES. PES told me they had no record either and redirected me back to Wilson Parking. After finally talking to Amy from Wilson Parking, she changed the story and said the payment was now "pending," telling me to go check with my bank.
I checked my bank, and the transfer was indeed fully completed. I was forced to get an official signed letter from ASB Bank proving $2.50 was fully settled to Wilson Parking Auckland on 04/07/2026 using Visa Debit ending 2490.
After submitting this official bank proof, they shifted their story again, claiming they were "unable to locate the parking session" and dropped the $105 fee down to a $30 "administration fee."
Their internal systems couldn't even link a verified bank transaction from card 2490 to my vehicle registration. Expecting a customer to pay $30 for the runaround caused by Wilson Parking's own IT gateway failing to log a Guest QR payment is completely unacceptable. Zero accountability for their own software failures.

$60 to park at a hospital

$60 to park at a hospital, because apparently illness wasn’t expensive enough. Nothing says “we care about the community” quite like Wilson Parking charging $60 while you sit in a hospital, trapped for hours, with a loved one who is sick, injured, frightened or possibly dying. It takes a special kind of corporate imagination to look at this and think, excellent, a captive market. Sixty bucks for a patch of concrete. No valet, no champagne, no complimentary CT scan, just the privilege of leaving your car somewhere while you’re worried sick. This is not a service. It is opportunistic price-gouging dressed up as parking. Profiting from people at their most vulnerable is grotesque, and whoever approved these charges should give themselves an uppercut. Wilson Parking: because apparently the real emergency is that somebody still has money left in their bank account. Predatory. Shameless. Disgusting. Rotten.

This is an awful predatory company

This is an awful predatory company. Please stay away wherever possible. They are completely unforgiving. I had communication issues with my old company and not only did they not waive any of the fines but sent them all to debt collection. I hope the CEO and management run into terrible misfortune and die reflecting on the fact they are awful people. I don't say that lightly. Greed is so prevalent in today's society it is sick. I was only on minimum wage too.

Absolute joke of a service.

Someone stole my credit card details and used them on the ParkMate app. When I asked support for the rego linked to my card so I could pass it on to the police, they completely fobbed me off. I got robotic replies refusing to give me the details because of the fraudster's "privacy". They couldn't care less that their app is being used for fraud and just told me to deal with the bank. Absolutely useless customer service.

Misleading or deceptive conduct - ParkMate Wallet by Wilson Parking

The recent ParkMate app update (around July 2025) introduced new features within the Wallet section. Instead of improving convenience, this update caused problems for ordinary customers like me.

Previously, my parking payments were automatically charged to my credit card. After the update, payments were redirected into the ParkMate Wallet as a balance, rather than being applied to actual parking fees.

Worse, there was no notice or reminder about this change. A week later, I received a confusing breach notice for NZD 85. When I explained that my transaction record clearly showed the issue was caused by the app update and unclear instructions, Wilson Parking (via ParkMate) still insisted I must pay NZD 30 (instead of NZD 15) to cover their “administration cost.”

I believe this conduct breaches the Fair Trading Act 1986 (New Zealand), particularly regarding misleading and deceptive practices.

Additionally, ParkMate lacks a withdraw or refund function. Unlike other apps such as Kindo, which allow easy management of wallet balances, ParkMate requires customers to write or call to retrieve funds. This makes it difficult to recover money once it has been added to the Wallet.
