Left a mediocre review of a fairly expensive Woodpecker router plane.. two months ago. The tool was missing a part that made it non-functional, and I ultimately had to source it myself. Woodpecker sent one, but it took three weeks to arrive. Reached out to woodcraft.com about the missing review, and a representative claimed, “staffing issues,” were putting things behind. I will never purchase from woodcraft.com again, and will discourage others from doing so. How can you trust a company that is filtering reviews?

I ordered a stain and a finish, and only received the finish and got a random leveler in its place. I get no emails back trying to resolve the problem. The can of stain was also dented badly

“My initial experience with Woodcraft was frustrating and disappointing. On March 21, I placed an order for a 19-38 Drum Sander and Infeed/Outfeed Tables. I was charged $165 in shipping, then later discovered the sander was backordered and that Woodcraft was promoting free shipping for the same item. My efforts to get a refund or adjustment initially went nowhere.
However, after posting about the issue on social media, submitting a BBB complaint, and leaving an honest review, Woodcraft finally refunded my $165 shipping charge. While I appreciate getting my money back, it’s unfortunate that it required so much external pressure for them to do the right thing.
I’m sharing this update so that future customers know the full story: Woodcraft did eventually resolve the problem, but only after I had to take multiple steps to expose what I feel were misleading and inconsistent practices. If you choose to do business with them, be sure to keep a close eye on backorders and watch for any upcoming free-shipping promotions before placing your order.”

I ordered some walnut wood that came today. Just two boards but there are cracks in the wood and it is unusable for the project I’m doing. I called to see if I could return it and the phone bot says press 1 if you’re over 50 for a discount. I press 1 and I’m sent to an AI generated message trying to sell me a medical alert device. It gives a name like you are talking to a real person and then won’t shut up. You keep thinking you will get a live person but you don’t. I will NEVER order from here again.
Fixes problems expertly
Ordered some burrs for wood carving on sale. Unfortunately they never actually shipped them out. After about a month I ended up charging back the company. As soon as it went through they reached out to me asking why I did that and were very patient and merely curious. I told them the whole situation and they went out of their way to put me in touch with various people to sort out the issue. The lady was so kind as to include free 2-day shipping and honor the sale price for the burrs even though I said just getting it out to me finally was plenty. Very friendly staff who listened to my problems sincerely and provided a wonderful experience at the end of the day!
Do not buy from this company
Do not buy from this company. I purchased a camera from Woodcraft and it has not been delivered so far it has been over 1
month. There is no customer support. I will have to use my bank to get refund. Looks like I am not the only customer to have problems. Avoid!!!
Xmas gift.
My husband ordered a camera for my Xmas gift (on 7th December) Still no sign of it, and tracking seems to have disappeared. Not happy! Please look into it. Getting concerned now…..
Awful customer service.
We purchased a new kitchen from this company and whilst the independent fitters were great, backup customer service is awful as is the quality of products used. The gloss laminate peeled odd doors and drawers and was replaced eventually.
When this happened a second time it was a constant stream of emails with false promises of replacing them which eventually resulted in no replies to any contact. I have photos and emails to prove this.
I think the biggest lie was when they sent a fitter to ‘double check’ the measurements who stated all the replacements are in the warehouse.
Bad employees and questionable practices IMHO
I have tried taking advantage of Woodcraft's advertised free shipping on many occasions. You have to find the policy page to know that it can't be combined with other discounts. While this is not unusual, I hate having to search for it. That policy should be stated clearly up front as other sellers typically do. The web page showing the product should not show the sale price and "Free Shipping!" if they can't be combined. I had this experience yesterday/today and contacted them to see if they would take action. I got a very terse response saying free shipping couldn't be combined with a discount. Also, I particularly hate it when they send me an email saying I can get free shipping if I'll complete the order that I left in my shopping cart and then I have to actually call them to get the free shipping, if then. Their web store is just a pain and their practices are questionable. I have also shopped at their stores in two states. Both have employees that are, at a minimum, unpleasant. One employee in Rockville, Maryland actually screamed at a fellow employee that was going to honor a discount being advertised with a sign on the product. She said that offer had expired. He said, "Well, we still have the sign up. So he should get the discount." She then screamed at him right in front of me. The only way I'll ever buy anything from them again is if they are the only ones who offer something and I absolutely need it. Today, I am unsubscribing from their email list. Goodbye Woodcraft! You are awful. Rockler and Klingspor Woodworking are much better.
Horrible Horrible Service
I ordered a track saw they indicated was in stock and after 4 days and no shipping info received, I sent an email asking why it was taking so long. They sent back a canned reply that said to call. I did and the chippy agent told me that my order had to be "verified." Verified? OK, but you've charged my card, where's my saw? It's scheduled to be shipped on Friday -- another 4-day delay. The entire process had a kind of scam-ish odor, IMO. I cancelled the order and got one from Rockler. I won't EVER go back -- there are many first class outfits that sell woodworking tools, who needs this kind of treatment?
Be careful ordering wood online
Ordered a box of plywood online and paid $13.99 shipping, the wood was horrible and it would cost another $13.99 to return it. $50 bucks worth of firewood!!! Retail store wouldn't take it back either.
Customer service was rude also... NEVER AGAIN!

Unfortunately, we do not participate in that service so the shipping times and/or charges shown do apply. Also, the shipping charges were shown when checking out. Also, that package has already been processed/shipped and cannot be canceled. You would need to go thru Amazon to request a return authorization, and then send the product(s) back once received. Considering I've purschased a lot of puzzles from you all, in the past, you've lost hundreds of dollars over 5 dollar shopping. Poor, very poor business.

Let’s address the elephant in the room first, Woodcraft prices are astronomical. That being said, I keep going back to them because their service is so good. My local store is staffed by a bunch of friendly and knowledge folks that are always a dream to work with. Likewise, they got a decent enough selection of wood that’s a challenge to find anywhere else. While I’d advise buying most of the smaller power tools from a big box home improvement retailer (same product, warranty, and significantly cheaper) for anything specialized or wood itself, these are the folks to work with.
Cannot make an exchange for the correct size item
Woodworking is one of my hobbies. Used to shop at the woodcraft in Norfolk, but since moving to the mountains, there is not a woodcraft near me.
On a recent visit to see her mom, I ask my wife to pick up an item for me. Despite calling the store and requesting that they put the specific item that I wanted behind the counter, the wrong item was waiting for my wife. (Wrong size).
A few weeks later I was going through Leesburg VA on my way to Baltimore, so I took the item expecting to do an easy exchange for the correct sized item.
The store manager refused to exchange the item, despite having the correct size in stock and carrying the item in both sizes. His excuse was that his store is a franchise.
There are lots of franchise stores that I have probably shopped and returned items to not knowing that it was a franchise operation.
I do not understand why the Leesburg store manager refused to exchange the item, but I will not be purchasing anything from his store.
Last year between Christmas and New Year's I made a rather large purchase at his store which I now regret.
Poor inventory control
Poor inventory control. Nasty racist customer service personnel. Allegedly in-stock items incurred a month delivery delay. Customer service of the call center told me I should speak better English or return to my country!

Woodcraft will charge you for an order placed regardless of whether or not the order ever gets shipped. In the case where one orders different sizes of dimensional lumber of the same species for a project and they never ship part of the order even though you've been charges then its practically impossible to get the order returned and your money back.
