Our staircase renovation was completed 2 years ago and still looks as beautiful as the day it was completed. It has completely transformed our hallway and everyone who visits us comments on the quality and style of the oak and glass. The service we received was excellent, it is rare to find someone these days who does what they say they will do, when they say they will , but Abbott Wade did exactly that! The fitters were professional and polite, the work took 2 days and they made sure everywhere was left clean and tidy when they finished. I would not hesitate to recommend this company

It's over 2 years since our staircase was refurbished by Abbott-Wade and it looks as good now as it did on day 1. The whole process from start to finish was handled professionally. The workmen did the whole job in a day and left no mess at all. They even fitted an extra bit of skirting board that wasn't on the original order. We are delighted with the work, visitors comment on how good it looks and in my opinion it has increased the value of our house considerably. Thank you.

I can understand your annoyance at the negative reviews you suddenly found giving you no time to reply.

As a family company, I cannot believe you sent out “Poor quality Wood” let alone have your carpenters fit it. Their comments about “Not the glass they sell you” seems odd. Having been through the whole process ourselves, I cannot find a fault with your customer service.

Your designer advised us on how to lighten our hallway as our house is 100 years old and in a Conservation Area. We only have a tiny door window. His suggestion of glass panels instead of painted vertical posts was spot on together with using light oak wood.
Your fitters are the critical members of your company, I know as I use to supply and fit kitchens so I know when a good job is done. The joints were perfect, say no more.

We had our staircase replaced by Abbott Wade 3 years ago, the service from the first enquiry was second to none. Everyone from the company we dealt with were professional, respectful and courteous throughout. 3 years on, it still looks as good as the day it was fitted, it has created a ‘wow’ reaction from most visitors. The lads that fitted it were excellent and left our home clean and tidy every day when they left and did a great job with our lovely oak and cast iron transformation .It has been a real investment and we would highly recommend for a first class job, thank you Abbott Wade

From planning stage through to construction, we were made fully aware of what was possible, what the cost would be and the level of temporary disruption we would face. In fact, we were impressed with how little superficial and decorative damage occurred. Fitters were amiable and helpful and we could not be more pleased with the result.

We had a total staircase refurbishment in August 2022. The salesman came to visit a couple of months before and we agreed the work and cost. A month later the surveyor came to complete measurements. The fitters arrived on time, were professional and worked tirelessly to get a first class job done. We love our new staircase and would highly recommend this company. Top job. Many thanks.

We had our full stairs, half landing and all handrails / posts replaced by Abbott Wade. They kept us informed of status pre-installation, surveyed at time / date advised and installed on date agreed.
We are extremely pleased with the quality of both the materials fitted and the workmanship demonstrated. The fitters were polite, kept to time and cleaned up after themselves during and after the stairs were completed. Would highly recommend for this type of joinery work and wouldn’t hesitate to use again.

Planning was done very efficiently with good quality information presented and realistic timescales.
Job was measured twice to ensure no issues and on the agreed date the workmen turned up on time and worked very efficiently and with little mess.
We were very satisfied with the workmanship but a couple of days later we noticed a tiny mark underneath the bannister. After one phone another workman arrived and sorted everything with 30 minutes.

Can't stress highly enough how delighted we are with the quality of our staircase. Fantastic fitters Mike and Ryan did a great job, super friendly lads and left everything spotless on completion.

The service I received from this company was excellent. From the initial telephone call to the fitting and follow up care, the staff were helpful and very polite. I am really pleased with my staircase and have had lots of lovely comments from family and friends. The workmen explained how the staircase would be fitted and cleaned everywhere after the fitting. I would recommend them highly.

We could not recommend Abbott Wade more highly. We had been recommended another joiner who's workmanship was terrible. We chose Abbott Wade to rip out his work and install a new glass and oak staircase with stringers. The attention to detail was perfect and it has transformed the space. They even returned to correct some damaged paintwork caused by other tradesman after their install, at not extra cost-an excellent experience throughout, with amazing customer service! I don’t normally write reviews but am so pleased with the job that I wanted to put it in writing. From start to finish the experience of dealing with Abbott-Wade was first class and I couldn't be happier with the end result. We had been researching staircase companies for 12 months before we took the plunge, having met with a number of other companies inc. a local joiner and a big national brand, however Abbott-Wade stood out with their friendly but professional approach. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out their way to put us at ease and answer the many questions we had along the way! Our new staircase (oak and glass) has completely transformed our home and I only wish we had got it done sooner. All in all excellent workmanship and a great service - thanks guys, would highly recommend!

It's not very often I write reviews, but I have been so delighted with the new staircase that Abbott Wade installed last week that I just felt I so much wanted to share my recent experience.
From beginning to end the communications were excellent as you would expect from a well established company like Abbott Wade. The finished staircase came out even better than I had hoped for and I am truly delighted with the quality and craftsmanship that this company continually strives to achieve. Nothing is too much trouble and it's clear right from the start that the craftsmen employed by Abbott Wade have been well trained and know their craft extremely well.
I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this company as a highly professional company that manufactures their staircases from design to a fully finished installation.
A first class service that I would recommend to anyone requiring either a new or refurbished staircase.

Fabulous finish and workmanship. Last year we bought a property with a large reception hall. Perfect for a double staircase and gallery (something ive always wanted). with this being a complex build the material and workmanship had to be just right. From the get go the sales rep Baz walked us through exactly what to expect at the end, producing bespoke CAD designs to suit our choice of stairs. We found the fitters Lee and Dan very professional and tidy. we couldn't be happier, our new hall looks amazing. And for this i highly recommend Abbott-Wade

Excellent company with which to work from the home visit, the surveyor, installation and follow up to some additional work we wished to have.
The local representative was very good coming up with some modern ideas. Because we were undertaking a house renovation Abbot Wade were happy to wait until we were ready for the installation. The two fitters were very hard working and responded positively to our enquiries. The full renovation of the staircase went into the fifth day and we were entirely happy with the work and thrilled with the staircase we now have. Later we decided we required a handrail on the wall and this was all organised and installed within a fortnight. Again the installers were highly competent and gave the whole staircase a look over and made some very minor adjustments to the “varnish” finish without recourse from ourselves.

Had a survey done pre xmas when gathering costs/ ideas. The ideas proposed were helpful and prices offered were competitive.
Had the works carried out over the past couple of weeks, remodeling the bannisters and replacing a couple of steps and skirting.
The team turned up on time and were polite and courteous to me and my neighbours.
Left a clean tidy job, and were available to discuss any issues throughout.

We had our new oak and glass staircase just before Christmas. From making the first phone call, to the surveyor then to the workmanship. What can I say other than very professional from start to finish, lots of ideas and the attention to detail was amazing. Very clean and tidy at the end of each day too. The workmen even made time to chat to my little boy about football. Overall excellent experience from start to finish. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Had our stairs done today and was disappointed with the attitude of the workmen and the finished job. We had agreed with the surveyor that we were getting an oak base. The workmen gave me various excuses why we couldn’t have the oak base and would have to keep the current white wood ones. The quote from the workman well that is a lot more work for me!! I had to speak to the Director who had done the survey who said there was no reason why we couldn’t have the oak base. When I told the workman I had just spoke to the Director who said we could have oak base. He had a face like thunder five minutes later called as there was another issue. This time are you sure you want oak as if I remove the current base the carpet won’t fit. Do you want to keep the current base.
We were also told that on the survey they had missed an issue with the newel post. The Director admitted that was his error and they would make a new post.
When job was completed a hole in the wall was left the workmen said to my wife they wouldn’t deal with it and it was our responsibility to put it right. The hole was from the base being removed at no time was this highlighted by the salesman or on the subsequent survey. I emailed the company highlighting the issues the reply was it is highlighted in the terms and conditions that the customer may have to decorate afterwards. I feel we have been misled through the process. Our house is a new house we have had a number of jobs completed over the last year this is the first time we have had any issues.

First class service from Craig and his team. Had the ground and first floor stairs and landing completed in August 2020 and just extended into the loft with a new flight of stairs. All finished in oak and embedded glass. Looks fantastic. Craig visited several times to discuss and agree with the builders pre-installation and everything has gone perfectly to plan working around other trades to schedule initial installation of the stairs with temporary handrails and then the full finish today.
