The customer service for ABT is…

The customer service for ABT is horrible. Even looking about some of these one star review replies, they do not take constructive criticism very well. I see a lot of passive aggression. I.e “ Cat did not reach out to us until almost 90 days after delivery and told 2 different stories about what was wrong with the TV” and another one asking a customer to give their contact information through a public forum. They need to work on their professionalism

The agent Dylan

The agent Dylan was incredibly rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. I was denied a refund or any form of compensation despite receiving damaged headphones that clearly arrived defective, and instead of helping, they tried to blame me, the customer, for their faulty product. I will be filing a chargeback and reporting this incident. After I reached out, they continued replying in a passive-aggressive and condescending manner, trying to gaslight me and twist the situation to make it seem like I was at fault. What’s worse, they lied about the entire interaction and refused to take accountability when I was completely willing to return the product. The headphones stopped working only a couple of months after purchase with normal use, yet they accused me of damaging them myself. Their customer service is shocking—hostile, dishonest, and unprofessional from start to finish. I was treated unfairly and believe racial bias played a role, as they even responded by saying it was “sad I fabricated racism,” which is both insulting and completely inappropriate. I have filed a report with the BBB and BCC for their conduct. This company clearly does not care about its customers or basic respect. Do not shop here—they lie, deflect blame, and disrespect customers instead of resolving issues. Support Black-owned businesses and others that actually value accountability, integrity, and human decency.

Hi Ethan, We sent brand new headphones sealed in the box when you purchased them in August. You then chatted us in October (months later) that they suddenly stopped working and demanded a full refund because you are out of the country. When we asked for pictures of the product, you emailed us pictures of physically damaged and cracked headphones. We are unable to take these back due to the physical damage that occurred. Ethan, it is also sad you need to fabricate racism. We have a copy of your Live Chat with our agent and will be happy to provide it to the BBB, BCC, or whoever you would like to make your shameful false claim to.

Unprofessional and terrible customer service

Unfortunately every time I place an online order, they cancel it for no given reason. When trying to live chat, or talk on the phone, they end up hanging up on me or closing the chat. Very unprofessional customer service. Not willing to help at all. *update after response* they never contacted me Thursday and I didnt figure out they canceled my order until the next day after business hours. They never called or emailed to tell me I just happened to check my order. When explaining to them im using a virtual card from a leasing company, they refuse to process the order still and refuse to contact the leasing company to confirm the order.

Aireloom Mattress and Beautyrest Adjustable Base

I would like to take this opportunity to offer a review for my recent adjustable bed purchase from ABT. Having initially checked on-line I was deterred as for the type of bed I was looking at I did not want to pay up to $15,000.00. I was encouraged by a manager at ABT to take the time and see what they had to offer and to possibly be able to take advantage of the Labor Day Sale.

Having met initially with Josh D. on August 19, I felt assured that he would assist me in selecting the best bed for my needs. Josh is very knowledgeable, patient and very responsive. My late husband and I had a split king adjustable bed with dual controls. I no longer needed the dual controls, so choosing the “perfect” bed with adjustable base was overwhelming for me. Once Josh had spoken with me for a few minutes he had a better idea of what I wanted. He showed me different brands and explained to me how the adjustable base would work as well as how the base would fit within my existing frame. I texted him photos of the existing set up so we could come up with a good combination. I returned to the store on August 21, tried a few beds, received more information about warranty, durability, delivery process and made my decision.

I purchased the Aireloom Night Stars Preferred Streamline Luxury Firm Mattress with the Beautyrest Baseologic Gold Adjustable Base- King, and DreamFit DreamCool King Mattress Protector. The pricing was fair and I took full advantage of the Labor Day Sale and the no cost for removal and recycling of my old bed.

Delivery was made on August 27 and Bryan N. and Miguel C. could not have been nicer, efficient and informative in addition to providing good communication of their status. Being able to track the delivery was also a plus. . It was quite the process to take apart the old California King mattresses which had the adjustable units inside. They both worked very hard to remove the bed and to set up the new bed. It was necessary to sync the bed with the adjustable base which didn’t work right away but Bryan persisted all the while Miguel was dealing with the old bed. I will add that these guys really did provide the ultimate customer service experience and to all you reading this review please consider tipping your delivery people as they work hard to excel.

As for the aftermath of the purchase Josh has also been excellent with communication and follow up. As the Aireloom mattress takes some time to get used to and I need to live with it for the next 10 years or so I was not loving it. Josh explained the construction of the mattress to include the intricacies of the design. He encouraged me to try it out for at least 30 days to get a feel for it. He proceeded to say if I determined after giving it time to work for me I could return it, exchange for something more suitable with no additional fee. Josh also offered me the opportunity to come back and try out other mattresses in the event I needed to make the exchange.

This is a long review, but this is just me when I receive excellent service and good product. People need to be thanked for their hard work. Thank you ABT.

Good Prices. Even Better Service

With a kitchen remodel on the horizon, we visited Abt several times to explore appliance options. We were very fortunate to be assisted by Joey V: he was knowledgeable about the various brands, shared honest feedback, and really helped us find the right choices within our budget.

One additional note: even after we completed our purchases, Joey continued to personally follow-up to ensure timely delivery. Bonus points for that level of service!

BUYERS BEWARE

BUYERS BEWARE! I purchased an LG washing machine and dryer from ABT three years ago. The washer leaked through my wall under the floor of my bathroom and caused severe mold damage. I’ve had to pay close to $20,000 to have the bathroom remodeled. The washing machine connector/line was all rusted out. LG claims these lines were not the lines made for the washing machine. ABT claims otherwise. Of course, none of the warranties cover this issue, or any you could possibly have. On top of the extreme damage caused to my house and health, the ABT claims Guy yelled at me over the phone that it was due to my “shitty contractor” who hooked up the washer. Great customer service ABT! Moreover, a monkey could hook up a connector to a sprocket. Why would the connectors rust out within 3 years? Aren’t those made for water? Now it’s on small claims court! Do not shop at this shack!

Hello, Our claims dept did take a look into your claim and determined the leak was caused due to the installation. Whoever installed your washer, cross threaded the hose which caused the leak which in turn caused the rust. Cross-threading occurs when the threads of the hose and the washing machine are not aligned, and the connection is forced together, damaging the threads. This was not a product issue.

Terrible experience
I’ve been a customer with ABT for many years and bought many appliances through them. For the most part, I’ve been satisfied. Generally speaking, I dont even look elsewhere - something needs replacing, “let’s go to Abt”.This time however, I was sold a lemon. My $1,600 fridge, which latest only 2 years, stopped working two weeks ago. Two hundred dollars and two separate less-than-five-minute repair visits later, I’m told that I need a new unit. I called customer service to express my grievances, where I was then transferred to a sales rep who, naturally, went into sales mode. “Well, we have this fridge which is on sale right now”… Hold up, full stop. Abt is not trying to sell me two brand new fridges, within two years, without so much as an apology. In retrospect, I should have gotten the extended warranty - but the fact remains that this fridge was less than two years old. If nothing is going to be done about this, then unfortunately, I will no longer be purchasing from ABT

Horrible service

Very sad to say that Abt has gone from top of the line customer service to atrocious. Three attempts to deliver an appliance before they brought the right model. Then they arrive at 5:00 on a Friday and spend 90 minutes installing to discover that the machine isn't working properly. Horrible! Costco would be a much better option

When you purchasing items, they are so nice and they lying a lot regarding the free service for one year or three years
But after you have problem with the machine you buy, they’re not gonna do their free service they telling you only the part is free for that amount of months and charging starting from $250 is better to buy some of the stuff like laundry, machine, dryer machine from Home Depot and if anything happen, you true I’m by the new one which for $500 it’s gonna be my last purchase from app and I gonna let all my friends know about we purchased a speed queen dry machine is almost 9 months but they told us we have three years warranty. The machine is not working well, but they telling us the service charge is 250 they coming the final problem 250 they going the parts gonna be free again they coming they might gonna charge you up to $500 for exchanging the part it’s gonna cost me more than what I can buy in Home Depot. Let’s work one or two years is worth it better than purchasing from abt.
No more abt thank you

ABT Customer Satisfaction

Let me begin by saying that ABT Appliances has a life long customer with me and my family and furthermore they are the only appliance store that I would ever recommend.

Here is my story, after just short of 8 years my $2500 refrigerator just decided to stop working causing me to lose hundreds of dollars worth of food. After contacting the manufacturer I was passed off to their authorized service technicians to address the issue.

I was informed by the techs that my issue was in the sealed system which was under a 10 year warranty. 6 weeks, 5 visits, $575 dollars later I was still without a refrigerator.
Not to mention that I was forced to buy a garage unit as using an ice cooler was getting old.

Finally after 5 weeks of throwing parts into my unit the technician ran out of ideas and on the 6th visit the service company sent a hatchet man out to pronounce my refrigerator “unrepairable”.

After complaining to the manufacturer they finally offered to replace my broken refrigerator with a new one. In haste, and with very little time to research their offerings I chose one over the phone with one of their “resolution team” associates.
However after about 25 minutes of placing the order I contacted them back to try and put a hold on finalizing a decision until I had a chance to actually look at the units and gather some reviews.

I was told that it was too late to change the order and that unfortunately I would have to live with my decision.

At this point I decided to throw in the towel and just buy another refrigerator. I took a drive up to ABT where I purchased the fridge almost 8 years before to begin the search.

I was so angry and offended by the way I was treated by the manufacturer and the service company, not to mention how the whole fiasco played out that I thought I would at the very least vent to a store manager not expecting much in the way of satisfaction.

Here is where I was surprised. The appliance manager Randy Goldman patiently listened to my tale of woe. He offered some suggestions and then took his time to show me some replacement options and offer his opinions on various models. He then connected me with one of his salespeople John Babana who also helped me to understand today’s refrigerators and what to expect moving forward.

I was able to carefully and confidently select a replacement thanks to the both of them. Randy also went out of his way to extend a phenomenal price on the unit and offer an extended warranty at a reduced cost as a goodwill gesture for everything I had been through. They even had the unit delivered and installed the next day and hauled away the old unit without cost. They treated me with respect and kindness, something rarely seen in today’s world.

My hats off to Daniel and Modesto in truck #2029 for a flawless delivery and installation.

As far as the replacement refrigerator, I chose a GE Side by Side model # GSS25IYNFSS and couldn’t be happier.
Fingers crossed it lasts at least 8 years.
But one thing is for sure, if ever I need another appliance I will only shop ABT.

Outstanding

I've bought a few big items from ABT including a TV, surround sound system, and kitchen appliances and it is always a great experience. From customer service helping me with my order and getting an even earlier delivery time to the delivery and installation people being on time and courteous, I've always enjoyed purchasing from them. As I continue to support local businesses, ABT is always on my list.

Back on 1/28/25

Back on 1/28/25, I purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher.
Within a week, the unit showed an error code. Had a ABT technician check it out and cleared it. 1 week later, it showed the same error code, had a technician come out, had to order parts. Two weeks later, a third technician came to install the parts. A couple of days
later and the unit threw the same code. 3rd technician came out and cleared the code. Now 2 months later, the unit threw a different code. Had a technician come out to tell me that the unit was not correctly installed, and the damage was un-repairable. Now I have a $700 dollar dish washer that is unrepairable. You would believe that having multiple technicians work on it, how could the unit be damaged to the point of being unrepairable ? So now, based upon the technician who came on 3/31/25, and determined the machine unrepairable due to the unit installation, there will be no replacement or refund.

I received a damaged 75' TV and they refused to do anything about it. Other than give me the run around and send me to a repairman. What a shame because I'm redoing two properties right now that need high end appliances and I was hoping they would be it. They will be getting none of my business going forth. Think twice before ordering and ask about all warranties ahead of time and get everything in writing. Also pay with a credit card that will reimburse you if they screw up or try to defraud you.

We're sorry Cat is upset but we want to clarify some of the statements made here. On our website and in email confirmations, we clearly state for items to be inspected and to notify us within 24-48 hours of any damage or defect. If an item comes damaged or is defective, we will gladly cover the costs of shipping it back and exchanging it. Cat did not reach out to us until almost 90 days after delivery and told 2 different stories about what was wrong with the TV. Our General Manager Kal spoke with the customer and offered a resolution of half off the cost of a new TV, Cat did not accept the offer.

Washer/Dryer Combo purchase/repair experience

My tenant in Evanston bought a brand new washer/dryer combo ($2,400ish) in February 2023 from ABT Electronics. Last month (Feb 2025), the dryer stopped running.

The purchase has one-year warranty. Obviously, the warranty expired. So my tenant purchased $209 service package which included unlimited visits to solve the problem. The technician came in twice and was not able to fix the dryer. On his third visit, he proposed changing the following parts: the main board, the motor and the heater Assy. The total estimate is $1,279 - equivalent to, if not more than, buying a new dryer.

Since the estimate was so high, I called the appliance repair company. The technician came in and fixe the problem within 20 minutes - the labor costs $140. No parts need to be changed.

My tenant called the ABT store to request a refund. They declined with the following logic: the $209 fee covers unlimited visits until they figure out the problem. If we didn't go with another company they would have eventually figure out the problem and fixed it.

I laughed when I saw what the tenant messaged me - So the logic is this: They promise they will eventually solve the issue. They came in twice and didn't. So as a last resort, they proposed changing all major parts of the dryer. If the dryer resumes working after replacing all major parts, I need to pay $1,279 for the parts.

I actually trust their third proposal will work because they are essentially replacing a new dryer for me, whereas the technician I found fixed the problem in one visit, 20 minutes, cost me $140.

I really don't know what to say about this company. I would just like to share the experience with all future/potential customers and be cautious with this company.

AWFUL customer experience

AWFUL customer service. We outfitted our brandnew kitchen with $50K+ worth of appliances. One was wrong, one broke immediately and 2 years in another is now broken. We are going on 3 weeks without a microwave which with a family of young kids, two working parents and one parent who just had surgery is beyond inconvenient and totally unacceptable for a company that charges more for and prides itself for the best customer service in the industry. Congratulations for NOTHING. Our newest home that is about to start a remodeling project will take its' business elsewhere.

Customer Service is Key

Read my review if you like stories. I’ve been shopping at Abt for years. It’s to the point I can’t even count the number of accounts I accidentally created with them with different email addresses and phone numbers from the different stages of my life. The reason why I feel so loyal to this company is because the standard of care and feeling of responsibility the owners seem to have for their customers. This is where the story turns. I had my first, I’ll call it “unfavorable” experience earlier this week when a product I had purchased 3 of, was not working the way I had expected. I went back to the store to sort it out and because the issue with the product made a pretty big impact, I came in frustrated and devastated. I was literally crying speaking with a tone of frustration, that most people would probably have been deterred by me. Not Louie Igyarto. He let me get all my frustration and concerns out and then he told me how bad he felt and that he didn’t want me to cry. I actually felt so seen by him in a way only my therapist usually makes me feel, haha! He then offered a solution to me right away with his managers approval and I left feeling incredibly grateful. Then my second “unfavorable” experience happened but this time my issue was with a service employee. My dad had a dash cam installed yesterday but did not receive the amazing customer service my husband and mom received when they had theirs installed. When my mom and husband had theirs installed, they raved about how patient and kind their technicians were and how they were educated on their purchase. Not my dad. My mom and dad came to me today and asked me to install the app and explain the process to my dad because it was not done for him, even when he asked. Apparently that tech was also rude when speaking to my parents. I didn’t really know how to use the app either, so we went back to the store and I asked for help but used my moms car since hers got disconnected (we think from lack of use). I unfortunately ended up with the same technician my dad had, and he was so mean and unwilling to help. I have no idea what his deal was. I didn’t even know he was the same person that my dad interacted with until he told me himself in a rude way. I felt fed up and thought maybe this was it for me and Abt. I was so sad thinking my family and I may no longer feel comfortable shopping here anymore. Abt has helped furnish many homes and cars in our family, so it felt like losing a trusted friend. I then remembered amazing Louie. I knew I couldn’t just move on to a cold hardened big box store when sweet amazing Louie is whom I can purchase from. So I decided to go back to the store to give some feedback. I just felt so wronged that I had to share my feelings and experience in order to move forward. I spoke with the manager James Senne who immediately apologized for the experience and asked if he could help me resolve anything. He seemed so genuine and authentic in wanting to make me feel better and that he cared about my feedback. It’s a reminder that Abt is different than other stores and the reason why I will keep coming back and why I will recommend the store to anyone. Moral of the story is that Louie is who you want to make all your purchases with. He actually cares and it shows in the most empathetic and authentic way. I think he is only in the mobile or car accessory department but I don’t care; buy it all from him. James as well, he has an amazing ability to make someone feel appreciated even though I started my conversation with him with so much anger. Shoutout to Jake at the service desk as well for being so kind, patient, and eager to help. Those 3 are the perfect representation of commitment to great customer service. I hope the company truly recognizes them as the perfect representation of why Abt is so successful.

I thought I purchased a range from…

Update: This review prompted an escalation and the team worked hard to coordinate an expedited shipping and helped resolved the lack of communication issues and honored the original delivery promise that was listed on their site - appreciate everyone who helped.

I thought I purchased a range from these guys as my VISA posted the charge, but then two days later they email me telling me the change didn't got through and I needed to initiate a bank transfer. After 4 days of emailing them to explain the issue they just said it went though, offered no explanation, no clarifying email, no emails or communications at all. They finally acted on dispatching my delivery but their shipping company Ryder does not provide any level of detailed tracking. The promise message on the website showed it under 2 week but having called the shipping company they said it would be at minimum 3 even after the item left their warehouse. I called them to get more clarity on why this would be the case and an agent informed me they would be in touch but again nothing.. not a call, not any email not a peep. I honestly don't know if something happened to them lately but i really struggle to understand how these guys have anything above a 3 star rating. I will never buy from them again and I will never refer anyone to them.

If the expectation is that I pay over 2k for a product then I just wait in total darkness for any word on delivery for about 3+ weeks I would challenge someone to tell me how this is different than ordering any product from Sears Roebuck in the 1880's. We have rockets that go do outer space land themselves, global translation in our pocket, an armada of satellites roaming the earth sending us real time logistic data and these guys can't produce any emails about even the transaction that took place, the status of my shipment of the decency of a follow up phone call.

For security and fraud purposes, we verify all account information when an order is placed with a 3rd party verification system. Your order was initially flagged which caused the original delay.

The carrier and Abt are normally more efficient with our services and it is never our intention to aggravate you in any way. Ryder (and the other shipping companies we use) typically provide detailed online tracking so you can monitor the progress of your delivery. Our customer service manager Jeannie reached out to you yesterday and confirmed a scheduled delivery has been set for 2/28 which is (2 weeks from when your order was placed).

We will follow up with you again once the delivery is complete.

Be careful of Promotions. . .ABT.com tried to game the system with AMEX

I purchased several items from ABT.com due to a $50 off $500 or above promotion in December 2024 at AMEX (offer ended December 31, 2024 11:59pm). Although I received a confirmation email from ABT.com for my 1 order for the total above $500 before this deadline and a confirmation from AMEX that the transaction was approved by AMEX above the $500 minimum, ABT.com played games and split the order into three subtransactions, including delaying the third transaction into January 2025. As a result, the $50 promotion credit was not reported to AMEX.

I only purchased my merchandise from ABT.com because of this AMEX promotion and to support a small business and give someone other than the traditional big players such as Best Buy and Amazon a chance. I doubt I have the confidence to order from ABT.com ever again after these games.

My tech Ruban was awesome!

Ruban came to our home to repair our fridge & replace a few knobs on our stove. He was very knowledgeable, explained everything he was doing as he was doing it, & was extremely friendly! He did a wonderful job & by him communicating with me while he was working, it took the awkwardness that you usually have when a stranger is in your home away.
