Fees

I was making enquiries about fees and instead of having to ask for a review, it was suggested to me on the call that the sales team would review the account and see if anything could be done. The next day, I received an email from Ajibola Sule and the review had been done, and we got a lower rate. We didnt have to chase anything up, it was pro-active.

Shame that we cannot award zero stars.

If there were zero stars, this is what I would award. We have been trying to update contact details for the company and each time we send in the requested details, the goalpost is changed. They appear to be deliberately obstructive. Avoid!

Don’t waste your time

As Treasurer of my UK based church, we have been horrified by how useless AIB are. We have a contactless terminal in the church for donations, which have been going via AIB Merchant Services. Their “Investigations Team” seems desperate to prove something, but it has no relation to customer service. They constantly refuse to do anything relating to “service”. Do they really need to spend months trying to prove non-existent fraud? They can’t be bothered to just look at our website to see who is who. No wonder the reviews are so awful.

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. Their helpdesk closes at 6pm so if your terminal stops working after that you’re out of luck. When our terminal broke we waited 2 weeks for a replacement only to find out they hadn’t sent it out. Won’t be using their services going forward.

AVOID for card terminal processing bank!!

was using this bank as my Card processing bank for Merchant Card terminal under the contract with Card Saver which was the Terminal provider
AIBMS increased the rates 6 months into an agreed 3year contract by 176%

my fees were supposed to be fixed as per emails I received before taking out this contract

This company are a total scam

This company are a total scam, cancelled my system in 2019 and contacted AIB to cancel the standing order. The machine has not been used since. Despite this AIB /Clover took payments from my account. They changed the dates and sums and took intermittently in order to create confusion and avoid detection on my bank statements. This company need to be investigated by the regulator. Please read the reviews on google etc before you sign up.

We had 5 chargebacks costing our company almost 8 thousand euros between July & November.

Basically customers paid for services over phone with secure code name and phone numbers etc just like we did for 15 years with bank of Ireland and never had an issue. Customers bought goods this time then on average 5 weeks later AIB merchant services took it all back. Then after 3 weeks they put back in only to take back out 2 weeks later. We proved the goods went and emailed names phone numbers etc and video footage as asked. We also reported to the Garda which are actively investigating unlike AIB who hasn’t approached the Gardai nor assisted them with the investigation?? So AIB say it’s fraud but haven’t reported such to the authorities. At the minute we’re out a lot of money without AIB properly doing their due diligence. So for all you self employed people and small companies DO NOT USE these guys they give you an attractive price initially then they walk away when you have an issue.I will update over the weeks & months as the proper authorities investigate.

Avoid if you value your sanity

Had a terrible experience with AIBMS going back three years since our company restructured. Could not pass KYC although they were happy to continue trading with subsidiaries owned by the same parent. Failed to close down accounts despite acknowledging closure then refused to refund subsequent charges applied due to their failure to action closure. Amounts are small but as a matter of principle they should not profit from their failure to action account cancellations. They do not respond to emails. On calls they promise to investigate and call back then don’t. Our team members have said they would rather quit than continue to pursue AIBMS to recover the companies funds. Wholeheartedly, please avoid dealing with this company until they learn customer service.

Horrendous customer service

Horrendous customer service, dread having to speak to anyone, if ever a company fitted the phrase “can’t do attitude”, it’s these guys, very clearly staff retention and cultural issues in this business. Nearly caused me to go under by withholding funds from me and now making it difficult and expensive to stop doing business with them. I’m 53 and never had a worse experience than with these guys. Avoid at all cost please.

Difficult to cancel

I have been a customer of AIB Merchant Services for approximately 8 years. I've never had an issue with regards to accepting payments. Everything had been fine...until I tried to cancel. My merchant service provider offered us a better deal with their new acquirer so I jumped ship. Sent AIB Merchant Services my cancellation request for all 3 of our merchant ID's and no action was taken. 3 months on and I'm still being charged a Minimum Service Charge for a service I'm no longer using, and am now hoping my merchant service provider can step in to resolve the issue with AIB.

My advice would be to not use AIB as they are incredibly difficult to terminate your services with, even if you follow their policy.

Do not work with this company

Do not work with this company. Sales people chased us for the business, told us we only needed to sign up for a year. After lots of hidden charges, we found a better offer from BOI. Cancelled the contract after 4 years and was told we owe nothing on a handheld terminal ans we should send it to a recycling depot. A day latrr they send us a bill for €225 owed on the terminal. Try find a phone number for support, impossible.

Do not use AIB...stay clear

Please in the life of you do not use AIB,
Terrible service. They conned me into taking a machine that is supposed to take Amex as our business takes high volume transactions and clients like to put these transactions on their Amex. 18 months later after endless promises their Clover device they lease does not take Amex and I have been messed about so much.
Do not sign up with AIB.
They are forcing me to pay for another 2.5 years on my machine terminal.
I had to write several complaints and they keep writing me off saying that is not true etc, when I have full evidence via email of our communication.
I now have to take it with the financial ombudsman.
