Tried to charge over £300 for a £50 job. Poor service and wouldn’t recommend

Don’t touch with a barge pole. Said £49 and 30 mins max response time - waited 1hr 20mins and he wanted £125. Our key was in the lock on the inside so was not a ‘difficult job’ - in fact we ended up demonstrating that fact by doing it ourselves with a metal hook through the letterbox. Charlatans!

Said no call out but was charged 49 for the hour. But he charged 2 hours despite being here 50 minutes. Initially said £80 for the ‘overnight’ lock. He fitted this lock in the end then when I said I would pay cash charged 240. I will be ringing the head office tomorrow to see what he put through the books. Then trading standards. Avoid.

Like the review above, the individual who came to my flat claimed that the lock had to be destroyed, was exceptionally rare, and that it would cost hundreds of pounds to replace. Drilled the lock when, having shown the pieces to locksmiths since, it could easily have been picked. Put in an extremely cheap replacement, didn't even replace the handle, and asked for "what you can afford". Emailed to complain about this and responder was exceptionally rude on top. Same individual who visited me was listed on Reddit's lockpicking forums running the same scam on someone else a day before.
Stay far, FAR away from this company.

Beware! Call out rates are not as advertised. I was charged 90 pounds just to open the door. I then had the choice of a new barrel starting price 110 pounds rising to 175 pounds for the “British Standard” spec. Oh and then don’t forget the additional 35 pounds installation fee Sir....now he was a nice guy and apologised profusely for being 1 and a half hours late however I’m also a nice guy and this chap obviously didn’t feel in the slightest bit uncomfortable about trying to take advantage of my kind face and rip me off. Just because I may look a bit green behind the ears doesn’t always convert to being as dumb as some may take you for. Anyhow if you have read this far beware that the 55quid no nonsense rates actually equate to what could be 90+175+35=A cool 300quid for 15 minutes work.
In short: Avoid!
