The guys doing the work we're good but
The guys doing the work we're good. The management held us to ransom unloading half a lorry at their site and then charging us for another day as sale completion was delayed by one hour. It's obvious it was a planned upsale as the extra hour wouldn't allow them to unload half a lorry.
Edit: As you can see in their response they are now going to raise how much they charge again. Have already spoken to the BAR. The delay was not over 1 hour, we had told them upfront completion wasn't before 2pm and the guys at the site had garden access to unload plants.

We always do the utmost to complete every move and work with every client for the best resolution. Our team had already stayed late to do their best to complete your move and we did everything in our power to stick to the original timeline you gave us, to make your relocation as stress-free as possible.
Unfortunately, the delay far exceeded the 1 hour you have stated. Your items weren’t unloaded at our depot. They had to be transferred to another vehicle overnight as the delay meant your move had to be completed the following day (vehicles had already been assigned to other removals and we had to ensure other customers weren’t affected by your delay).
At the time of writing, there are still more items yet to be delivered due to the extra time you have required. This has extended our service by two full days, for which we weren’t charging the full amount.
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention in the various reviews you have now posted online. To ensure there is no discrepancy from the original quote (and overtime fees as detailed in your contract) as you have expressed, we shall now adjust your final statement accordingly.
Our accounts team will contact you presently regarding your outstanding balance.

A mixed experience
A mixed experience; We had a lorry to take a load to storage one day and another to take a load to our onward address the next. Not enough boxes were delivered on day one so we struggled with package for for store and on day two only two chaps turned up which was completely inadequate (we had been told there would be more). Fortunately whilst we were pleased with Pawel, Rory and Rowan on day one, Harry and Ben on day two were extraordinary - they worked non-stop on the packing until after 7pm with commitment and good humour, followed by full day's drive and unpacking the following day. Disappointing organisation but full marks to the exceptional team

Bad Experience
I booked Armishaws to undertake the packing of goods and to remove me to my new address.
Subsequently the agreed completion date was not met and I therefore I had to telephoned cancel and rebook.
It was not, made clear at the time of booking I would have to forfeit the full price of removals if I had to cancel within 36 hours, I believe this should be clearly stated in the quotation not hidden away in the terms and conditions.
I have since moved with another company, plus received other quotes from a few more companies and after this terrible experience from Armishaws I did check if they had this horrible clause in, they Terms & Conditions which none of them have.
So been warned a small clause in the Terms and Conditions can cost a lot of money like me.
My experience Armishaws has not been at all good and will not be recommending them to anyone.

We couldn’t agree more, the cancellation terms should be clearly stated. That’s why they are verbally communicated by our staff during every survey. It’s why we draw attention to these terms and conditions, in writing, 7 times prior to any booking agreement being signed. They are once again restated at the time any client confirms their booking dates.
We fully understand your frustrations having been let down by your removal chain, but our sales team are in regular contact in the build-up to every move, where again we remind clients to only book once the move is 100% confirmed to avoid cancellation fees and prevent any costly mistakes.
These terms and conditions are laid out by the industry body, the British Association of Removers, to protect both those moving and removal companies.
Although it goes mostly unseen, there is a huge amount of preparation work that has to be carried out before every move. We go to great pains to make every client aware of the requirements of late cancellations. While we do all we can to assist where possible when late cancellations occur, as a company we simply couldn’t exist if we paid for the wages and materials on jobs that were cancelled with less than 36 hours-notice.
If none of those companies you mentioned had the cancellation terms, they will not have been BAR registered and not adhere to industry codes of practice. If you haven’t made your move yet, we would recommend you book with a fully registered BAR member.

Great support and help from the Armishaws team throughout, from first visit to moving day. They certainly helped to make a stressful day alot less stressful! Particularly impressed by their polite management of members of public/neighbours when the vehicle blocked the road during loading/unloading.

Armishaws made moving day a success. Alan, Nick and Sam were great and couldn't have been more helpful going above and beyond what could have been expected. They were always cheerful and helpful, making moving day easy. Their estimator was very reassuring and we think it was great value too. Highly recommended. Sam & Ben were great! They arrived a day early to help start packing up our house and were a massive help.
Both were really friendly and polite and very professional.
Our little boy was sad to see them leave when they had finished.

Movers Sam and Ben
We moved on the 9/10 of January we had the 2 most efficient and polite movers we could ask for in and out on the pack day withing 4hrs which was speedy and efficient and on the drop of the next day was even better nothing damaged and everything was placed where the boxes was marked while I try and set up the 2 bed room both Sam and Ben just unpacked the truck round me I was very happy with the team and how the move went.

We used Armishaws at the end of October…
We used Armishaws at the end of October 2024,the team were very fast and overly efficient and did not listen when asked not to pack personal items we had left on the bed in our room, they were to go with us in our car, I had to leave the house for 10 minutes returned to find they had packed them. I asked in which boxes were they the young guy could not remember. A few days after the move when we had finished the unpacking one item was missing reported it to the general manager and to the police, made a statement hoped that the item would be found. Waited 10 weeks no response from Armishaws, when I phoned the general manager, he said they did not insure those sort of items and it was my fault, he was aggressive and he did shout at me ( I did not raise my voice at all ) I felt that this was not my fault as they had been asked not to touch those items, wrote a letter of complaint to the directors of Armishaw and never received an answer or acknowledgement of my letter. The items that never arrived at our new home where the only connection I had to my late Mother and Sister, so shame on them all.

On this occasion we strongly refute claims made in your review.
The team manager on your move has been with Armishaws over a decade and is an extremely experienced, dedicated and trusted member of our team. He was asked to give us a full account of your move after you first raised concerns and he says no instructions were given in regards to items left on any of the beds.
We were constantly in touch with you during the 10 week period as our email and phone records can attest. This level of communication is something we would do for any customer following their move. Providing the very best of customer service is at the forefront of everything we do.
Further to this, you were contacted in writing in response to your letter. If required, we can supply you with full details and dates of communications made during this period.
In regards to jewellery, during every step of the move we make very clear the items we cannot carry. As well as being included in the terms and conditions, the prohibited items (such as jewellery, firearms, gas canisters, etc) are outlined once again on the final paperwork all movers are given to read and sign the morning of the move. You did sign and give your team a 5 star score in acknowledgment of your understanding of items we could not carry. Had the crew been made aware of such items, they wouldn't have been loaded.
If we can provide you with anymore details or information please do contact our team directly and once again we will provide every assistance.

My removal was very efficient, quick and organised thanks to Arthur, Lloyd and Coleahr (sorry spelling). John (transport manager) was also helpful and reduced my stress levels to a manageable level. Again a huge thank you to all the boys involved. A definite recommendation for others.

Another great experience
Those is the 2nd time this year that I've used the moving services of Armishaws. I learnt a few tricks from the first move and it made the experience so much smoother.
Ben & Sam are an absolute delight. They are professional,polite and hardworking. We started in Wiltshire which was cold and today it was cold and miserable in Wales but it didn't put a dampener on their efforts.
If I was to move again, I would not only use Armishaws but I'd ask for both Ben & Sam to do the job.
