Great Company

Right from the start Jordan was friendly, professional and calmed my nerves (I had been in the same house for 38 years). He answered all my queries and checked that I was happy with their service.
On the day of the move the guys were great and assured me everything would be ok - which it was. I can't believe how fast they were. Thanks guys.
I have no hesitation in recommending A to B Removals to anyone

Excellent Service

The 2 men arrived on time as stated they worked exceptionally throughout the entire move . They were brilliant at making sure all the furniture was protected and laid covers on all floors before they started. I would highly recommend this company . Thankyou again for the smooth move .

Arrived with his 'little helper'.
Laid protective covering on my floors.
The settee was wrapped in a protective material.
All done without any fuss (or coffee)!
Very courteous and friendly.

Reliable and helpful

This is the second time I have used A to B and I can’t fault them. They were very efficient, friendly and helpful. They were competitively priced and kept in touch to confirm booking. Made moving house so much easier and would recommend and definitely use again if required.

Go somewhere else!!

If I could give a 5 star review for the lads that actually did the moving then I absolutely would. They were all great.

However, the problem is the management (John). He’s a good salesman, very nice and polite at booking stage. Knew I was on my own, have arthritis, and in a bind so said he wanted to help. But once the job was in motion, things took a turn. I had to do my move in two parts due to circumstances and there was a weeks storage in between. On the second day of the move, the guys were over a hour late, they called me as John had put down the wrong address.

I had stuff to be uplifted for disposal too, which had also been booked. As soon as the movers had left, he was on the phone saying I still owed him money. I reminded him of our phone call and then he said he wasn’t at the office and would need to go back and check the booking. So he called me to have a go without the facts.

I got all the quotes over the phone. When it came to paying it didn’t match up. They are very expensive considering it was a partial house move with only a few bits of furniture.
The problem is, I couldn’t argue because I didn’t get the quote in writing, and also the first part of the move had been done, so my items were already heading into storage. I’ve been overcharged and feel I may have been taken advantage of. I hope it’s more the case that he could have got me mixed up with another customer. Either way, there’s been no apology for the rude phone call and I am now out of pocket and he won’t confirm the breakdown of costs that I have asked for several times. His story changes every time I email him back.

I am also still waiting on him to reply with an item of furniture that is missing. My guess is it got skipped with the other items by mistake!

My advice is to go elsewhere. They are overpriced, the Manager is disorganised , and after the initial booking his demeanour changed. However, if you do decide to book them, make sure you get a breakdown of individual costs in writing first.

Abysmal experience

Abysmal communication, completely messed around by booking staff who misled me on price and was rude and condescending.

Booked with this company.
Less than 2 days before they were due to collect they called and left a message to say they would be coming on Wednesday at 1pm instead of Thursday at 7.30am as agreed.
Made it out as if I was being awkward when I explained I couldn't accommodate this as I would be at work. (I'd explained this when making the booking.) Asked "Can you not just get your mum to meet them dear?" "Can you not help us out here?". I'm 40 so I have no idea why he would think my mum would be involved in my move??!

I ended up finishing my last day at work by running off to accommodate their change of plans, and spending my second last evening packing everything early instead of having a leaving dinner with friends.

Called the next morning to collect payment before my belongings were unloaded. (Which seems an odd system, what if items were damaged?). On the phone stated "So that's £780" which was the amount we had agreed, but then when the payment went through it was £936 as VAT had been added though this had never been mentioned before. Very misleading communication.

When I raised a complaint about this and stated my anger at my terrible experience I was told "That's not very nice dear". I am confident I would not have been treated this way if I was a male customer.

Did refund the extra money but totally ruined my last couple of days in Aberdeen and I would not recommend them to anyone, especially not any female.

Such a shame as the actual movers were all really friendly, efficient and helpful. They're being totally let down by the organisation of the company.

Outer Hebrides, Amazing Service

We used A2B removals Nov 23 to Feb 24. They collected several large items for us from several locations and stored these items for us before delivering them to the Outer Hebrides. They took all the stress out of this for us, they coped with changes at short notice and organised both ferry and accommodation. After a 10 hour drive and a 3 hour ferry ride all our goods arrived in perfect condition. Absolutely would recommend and we were definitely awkward customers. We even had positive feedback from all the collection points, stating how friendly and professional they were.

Fantastic job

Andrew and his crew of cheerful and highly motivated workers did an outstanding job for us today. We can’t praise them highly enough for taking such care at both ends of our move.

A to B Removals helped us move house…

A to B Removals helped us move house yesterday and they were fantastic. The four gentleman that helped us were fabulous. They were so efficient, worked like trojans and were so friendly and helpful. Absolutely first class wound highly recommend them.

I paid James Graham of A Kang Removals…

I paid James Graham of A Kang Removals (t/a A 2 B Removals) £240 as requested by way of deposit. 8 Days later cancelled as removal not taking place. Told deposit not refundable. Was not told this nor sent any Terms of Business - also informed within 14 days (Distance Selling Regs) and 6 weeks notice before actual moving date. Informed would speak to office - 7 days later still no reply. DO NOT USE A 2 B Removals NOR pay JAMES GRAHAM OF A Kang Removals any money.

Unprofessional, Unreliable, Untruthful and Mean

As with another one star reviewer, I found AtoB pleasant when they quoted me and picked up our belongings.
Getting the delivery organised as more difficult and once we had a date, it took them 3 weeks to bring our stuff.
The thing to note here is that the company has no resources outside of Scotland and, apart from the driver, all the unpackers were from a local company in Kent and took a long time to organise. So be careful if you are moving away from Scotland. However, once they arrived, the team were quick and efficient until . . . . . . .
After the team left we found that we were missing two uplighters. We notified them of the loss and at that point the recpetionist became extremely unhelpful at one point telling us that our two uplighters were not important and we shouldn't complain. From that time on, we dealt with the company manager, John Gray who spun us along for 8 weeks with promises as follows;
1. Telling us the driver had left then in the truck and he would send them down to us.
2. I followed this with around 10 phone calls in which I was promised the return of the lighters. They never appeared.
3. Telling us, rudely, that there was no point in taking legal action because the items were too low value (£200) to make it worthwhile.
4. I was even sent a photograph of them - it didn't look anything like them at all.
4. Eventually I claimed on the insurance which I took out with AtoB. At that point all went silent and I got no further response. I assume that they had not implemented the insurance policy and just took our money.
I came to the conclusion that all of this was stalling in the hopes that we would go away. Eventually I did just that - it just wasnt worth the effort of dealing with liars who did not care about their customers concerns.
Be aware - do not deal with this company! You are likely to be mistreated if they make any mistakes.
They don't care what their customers think of them or they would have apoloigised and settled at £200. As it is - no apologies, no return of the items, no £200, and a trashed reputation.

Good local move

A small removal of 10 of the heaviest items locally 8 miles away. We had moved the rest ourselves. Ben was experiencing Covid isolation staffing issues but despite this arranged for him and another to attend. This was later than planned but understandable in the circumstances. Move went well with no issues. Ben polite and proffressional throughout.

AtoB removals at short notice

Urgently needed removals from Somerset to Aberdeen at short notice, a 600 mile trip. A2B were punctual and exceptionally hard working. How they got all my stuff on board defies logic. It was a pleasure working with them. Great value for money and I would definitely recommend them.

I had them recommended in Ayrshire by 2 different people. Robert assessed my property gave a reasonable quote gave me good advice as to what I needed to do.
I found them to be friendly, cheerful and thoroughly professional

Unprofessional and highly unrecommended

I got a quote from A to B Removals to move from Aberdeen to the isle of Lewis and got a very good first impression from Jim who came to the house to quote, but who unfortunately wasn’t there on move day.

The good impression didn’t last.
Firstly, the guys loading the van shouted and swore loudly which was rude and embarrassing, plus my 3 year old was always within earshot.

They had quoted my partner to move his classic car. He raised concerns about their ramps and equipment but was told it was all fine. The bottom of the car was scraping along their ramps going on... some under-seal was scraped off but no serious damage...not a good start.

On arrival to Lewis mid afternoon next day, there were only a couple of hours of daylight left for the 2 drivers to offload the van (which had taken six hours the previous day to be loaded by 3 of them)...they made out that this was in some way our problem. I told them that they should have allocated more time to the other side of the job! They tried to re-arrange their travel for the next day as they realised they’d messed up but couldn’t get better ferry times. So they would have to finish it all that day.

Due to the rural location there wasn't much street lighting, but we got all the barn lights and 2 x outside lights on which was perfectly adequate...still they grumbled.

We thought we were doing them a favour by putting things straight into storage in barn (ie, no beds to put back together/no runs up to the loft/no need to put certain things in certain rooms!) but no, that extra 10 meters was just too much.

The drivers then made it clear they would probably be there til nearer midnight offloading since there was just the two of them. In the meantime I received a text from John requesting that he needed them away from there "as soon as".
After discussing this with my partner he called John and offered to help his drivers if he would give us some sort of discount, since we had already paid for the full removal service. John agreed to refund us £200 if he helped out. This was at approximately 4.30pm and at around 8.30pm they finished offloading.

The following day i called to confirm the refund and spoke with a lady who said she would have to run it past John before processing, but that if we didn't hear back then all was well.
When we still didn't have a refund into our account by the next day, my partner called John again, who proceeded to ask why we should be expecting £200 when he'd only helped out for an hour.....He kept trying to speak over him when spoken to and it became obvious that he had no intention of ever refunding ANYTHING.

In other words we were duped, and suffice to say we have had no refund for the 4 hours work my partner contributed (which should never have happened in the first place)

I have found John's behaviour in this matter utterly disgusting and he has proved himself and his company to be unprofessional and shady at best. I will leave what he said and threatened my partner with for his review.

We received more expensive quotes than this one and with hindsight I guess you get what you pay for. I would urge everyone to avoid dealing with this man and his company.
