I made a mistake & ordered the wrong keys. Contacted customer service & they were amazing. They went above & beyond to help. Absolutely brilliant, I don’t think I have ever been so impressed at how speedy & helpful they were. I would never go anywhere else for keys again. Thank you so much.

Disappointing experience with ABS lock warranty. My 2018 lock suffered a mechanical pin failure (door locked, key wouldn't go in). Despite their 10-year warranty marketing, they've refused to help because the lock came with my Miller Homes house and wasn't 'bought on their website.' I escalated this on the 16th of March and have been ignored since. Warning to new-build owners: the 10-year ABS warranty may be a myth for you.

Hi troops, complained about the lock since I bought it every year during the cold spells it always freezes up,the rep says that's a new one on them?,have to change over lock during this time,it's now not functioning correctly?.there so called we will get back in contact after giving them my details never happened, that's the 3rd time so far.there just not willing to honour there guarantee. Fed up dealing with these deadbeat.cant even find my order when purchased no record bought directly from them.what a joke please do not buy from this company or outlets. poor locks poor service

We were missing parts from a UPVC patio door set which we bought second hand. Contacted Avocet as it had their hinges and lock assemblies. Their customer service was amazing, they couldn't have been more helpful. Would definitely recommend this company.

Ordered my lock and reached out for help but there's a complete lack of response.

I recently ordered keys on their site, which did not worked and when I reached out for support I found out that I ordered the wrong type of the key. Although I explained it was not clear on their website and I had a very bad experience of finding out the key were not working, they kept saying that the pictures were clear to give me an idea of which type of key I should order. Such a horrible customer experience & service as they do not even accept the fact that their site is not giving a clear explanation of the difference between 1* keys and 3* keys. Stay away from this company if you can. I paid £30 for keys which is not working athough key numbers are exactly same.

Avocet products advertised a 10 year warranty on its cylinder door locks. I've used avocet locks on many doors on many properties for many years and have only recently had the misfortune of dealing with Avocet customer service team after one of their cylinder locks simply snapped (the front fell off) as I closed my front door. Customer services confirmed this is a 'known issue' but went on to tell me my lock must have been tampered with or was poorly maintained, neither of which is true. Blaming the customer for the failure of your product, expecially when it's a known issue that's left my property and family vulnerable, is just awful. I'm very rarely shocked by appauling customer service but the attitude towards their very loyal and long standing customer that must have purchased at least 60 of their products can only be described as contemptuous.

We had a new composite door with ABS locks. To register these inorder to buy additional keys I went onto the ABS website which is part of Avocet Hardware. I set up my account; created a password and completed a personalised security question that only I knew the answer to.
I then ordered addition keys and was horrified to see that on the key order email acknowledgement I received WAS THE ANSWER TO MY PERSONALISED SECURITY QUESTION!! I received a second email confirming my order was complete, and AGAIN the answer to my security question was on the email.
I am now extremely uneasy about ABS and Avocet - if their locks are as secure as their online systems - we’re doomed!
Since registering, I have had an email from Retainagroup - a third party limited company informing that our lock key code had been added to the “International Security Register” - something that appears to exist to stop car theft!
ABS and Avocet may be a bona fide supplier of high quality, secure locks but their approach to data security; customer communication and online presentation leaves much to be desired.
Despite emailing Avocet about this issue, ithas not yet warranted any response from the company

Great locks with a problem solving customer service.

The locks keyed together have made my life so much simpler and saved me carrying around half a kilo of keys around with me!

Also reach out to your local supplier of these locks for more efficient key cutting close to home.

The product is fine but the service is awful. I've tried to get in touch for the past month. The live chat on their website is always offline, the email address they give for enquiries doesn't accept external emails and my request via the contact form has been unanswered for over a month so there is literally no way to reach out

I ordered 4 ABS 3 star keyed alike eurocylinder locks and 4 pull bars stainless steel for doors . Excellant quality good looking steel pull bar handles . Also it feels so safe after installing the locks that offer highest security. I also ordered 4 additional keys to be cut with engraving of our family memeber names on keys . They delievred next day , excellent service

On holiday, ordered window handles for our static caravan hoping they would turn up before we had to go home (10 days).

They were delivered in 3 which was amazing considering where we are!

The lock was fine, I had a few issues with it comming loose and the key jamming but usually resolved this. I removed the lock once and found somehow it had shaved a small amount of plastic off the door which I removed. The lock was performing much better after this. I decided to order a spare key for another door. My order was processed promptly and delivered by recorded delivery.... The key didn't fit... I tried it in all my locks... It didn't fit any. I contacted the company and told them.... They are very good at stalling when it comes to a refund asking for numerous photos. They told me to return the key at my own expense.. As it didn't fit and I had supplied proof I didn't see the point. It was no good... Basically scrap... I persistently asked a refund as of now I haven't had one.

Mixed review.

I do like the lock, but I found an issue. Pretty bad one.

Also customer support is very poor. They just skim read and miss out the things you have already explained...

So the ABS locks are supposed to be great and they are, BUT I think the screw that holds them in isn't long enough OR they need to add a feature.

Why?

Because my lock was not loose initially (we check locks monthly & had just checked the lock 2 weeks prior and it was all fine.

We went to open the door for grocery delivery and the lock instead of turning and unlocking, it pushed out the back of the door, nearly falling out of the outside of the door!

It was 90% fallen out.

Eventually after a lot of wiggling and pulling whilst the delivery driver pushed the lock from the outside, I managed to get the lock back in place and open the door.

If you didn't know, locks are held in place by 1 screw which you tighten once the door is open.
So if the door is locked you can't do a thing about it.

The screw was loose, BUT it wasn't that loose!
It was only just a little loose, yet the whole lock had almost fallen out the outside of the door.

Nearly was a call to a locksmith, but thankfully I got it after over 10-15 mins of constant trying.

I think the screw needs to be longer or something needs putting in place so this can't happen.

I have installed many locks over the years and never had any issues where they fell out!
My last lock lasted many years without this ever happening (different brand)

On my last lock the screw would loosen as they naturally do (which is why we check them all the time) but it couldn't fall out. You could push it and it wouldn't fall out as the screw was still holding it.

But this lock, even when slightly loose, the lock can fall out.

If it had, it would have been a expensive call to a locksmith all because of a screw.

I do like the locks, but I feel they need improving to stop this happening.

I would understand if the screw was fully loose. but it wasn't. Plus the door is closed so the screw can only become so much loose before the door naturally stops it falling out (as the screw side fits to the frame)

You can fit it, loosen the screw a little, and push the lock and it will fall out. Not sure if this is all models as they do have multiple, but this is their top lock.

Must be something that could prevent this.

Key quality is very poor, now this isn't the aesthetics, but quality of metal used. Key has actually cracked along the vertical of the key. Then today with one of the other keys, part of the key broke off in the lock, so it couldn't be locked, had to call out a lock smith. He didn't rate the mechanism, advised me to get another barrel.

I ordered ABS key alike from Avocet-Hardware, after having a call with Mathew Scholes who was most helpful and sent me a link to help with ordering. Locks arrived a week later and took minutes to fit,
What a difference not having to carry a bunch of keys around.

Bought 5 sets of cylinders for 2 houses (and multiple extra keys for some) - not the cheapest but look and feel really secure. While they work.

Alas the very front of the lock seems prone to breaking off in normal use. Checking with our supplier it seems there is no warranty (the Avocet website Ts & Cs even say that in Section 5 on their website) so we have to purchase a whole new lock when this occurs

Brilliant service, ordered two keys on line for our new locks, had a phone call to confirm security questions and ensure it was really us later the same day. Keys followed two days later, thank you for great service.

We ordered 2 ABS Euro Double Cylinders with same lock plus 4 extra keys. Not cheap but a high quality product.
They dispatched the locks very quickly. Even though they forgot to send the extra keys at first, when I told them, they excused themselves and send them within three days. Great customer service.
