'Sofa' so good! Bought a sofa, chair, footstool , dining table and chairs last weekend at the Metro Centre outlet and was served by Joanne, who couldn't have been more helpful. I didn't feel any pressure at all. I had plenty of time to choose what I was looking for without any sales person breathing over me , unlike one of the previous stores I visited the same day in which I felt hounded. The store were very accommodating with keeping the furniture before my house move , so all being well , I will be a very happy customer by the time it is all delivered.

Absolutely appalling after sales. The most unprofessional, unhelpful company we have ever delt with. Once they have your money they dont care about anything else.

We'd been looking at a cofee table and tried the two local B&S stores but they had none. Thought we might as well try the outlet in Middlesbrough. Mike at the outlet dealt with us and pointed us in the right direction for the table we wanted. We got a great price and left with the table that day.
If you want a Barker and Stonehouse home try the outlet, loads of stuff and most importantly at great prices. Ask for Mike he'll look after you

Visited Barker and Stonehouse outlet Middlesbrough. Bought a new dining table and chairs. Mike the sales advisor was outstanding he went out of his way to ensure that we were happy with the product we had purchased. I would definitely return and recommend the store.

Went into middlesbrough branch looking for a dining table. We were browsing and were politely approached by Matt. He wasnt pushy at all, just offered assistance and let us carry on browsing without being pestered. When we chose what we wanted he was again polite and put through the sale with no issues. Also great hair

Visited the Middlesbrough store today, after finding out it was there through word of mouth, shop is brilliant, so much to choose from and found our perfect corner dining table, Ian who looked after us was brilliant, nothing was too much. Definitely will be returning. Excellent customer service

The level of service and helpfulness from both Lesley and Matt was above and beyond, bought a couple of great bargains. Enjoyed the experience and would recommend you go have a look.

We visited the Middlesbrough Outlet on two different occasions to view dining chairs and were assisted by Lesley on both occasions. She was polite and helpful but not pushy waiting for us to approach her. She was not only helpful in providing information about the chairs but in providing a tape measure to assist in our deliberations. Lesley explained that to pick up and take-away on that day the chairs would be boxed and taken to the car but would need to be made up at home by ourselves wereas delivery (£49) would mean delivered to your house by Barker & Stonehouse already made up. Lesley was efficient when completing the documentation to complete the sale. A large outlet with a lot of stock to choose from and staff waiting for you to approach them rather than following you round like in some retailers.

Colin and Dave delivered my bookcase today phoned as they were running early l was in so that was fine all packaging removed then checked over very polite men thankyou

We had such a fantastic experience at the Barker and Stonehouse Outlet in Gateshead! From the moment we walked in, we felt completely at ease—no pushy sales tactics, just a friendly "we're here if you need us" approach, which made the whole experience so enjoyable.

Joanne was incredibly knowledgeable and went above and beyond, even offering to let us take a couple of chairs home to see how they fit in our space—something you just don’t get when shopping online! The flexibility of being able to purchase five dining chairs (rather than being forced into an even-numbered set) was a huge bonus, as other places only sold them in pairs.

The rest of the team were just as wonderful, helping us load everything into our van with no fuss at all. Honestly, nothing was too much trouble for them. It’s rare to find such brilliant customer service these days, and I will absolutely be going back. A truly positive shopping experience—highly recommended!

Can’t praise Leslie of Barkers in Middlesbrough enough! We went in recently and bought a cabinet - she was so helpful, patient and professional. When it was delivered the wrong one arrived (!) but one call to Leslie and she had the right one brought to us within a couple of hours!
She told us she has celebrated 20 years at the store! You can tell- her knowledge is excellent. In a world of poor customer service - Barker and Stonehouse were the exception.

I was provided with time to browse at my own leisure. Once I chose a sofa the experience was delightful. Lesley a sales representative was wonderful. She helped me decide the colours that suited my home decor. She had a great and professional knowledge base, and understanding of the customer and their needs. Communicating with Lesley was refreshing and personable. My son 13 stated "she is the best person he has ever met when buying something. "
Barker and Stonehouse must acknowledge and appreciate that they have a dedicated lovely employee. I have to say the whole team were friendly and accommodating.
I'm waiting 8 - 10 weeks for delivery.

After browsing both floors we found a tall chest of drawers that matched our bedroom furniture.
Joanne could not have been more helpful and we were able to take our purchase away from stock.
Having used Barker & Stonehouse before I can highly recommend their Outlet Store on the retail park at the Metro Centre.

Great bargains to be had!
Dealt with Joanne in the Newcastle store and she was fantastic. Helped us source a matching piece of furniture we required from another branch as it wasn't available in her store and arranged for it to be added to our original order so completely seamless.
Can highly recommend and we'll certainly be returning.

My new couch, love seat, coffee table, book case and chair were delivered yesterday by 'T' and Colin. They were knowledgeable, on time, efficient and polite. Well done on great service.

I visited the Cannon Park store in Middlesbrough just to have a browse with my mum and sister.
I had been looking for some bar stools for months ! I found the perfect ones which I was hoping to take away there and then.
Anthony assisted me for this sale and was so so helpful and friendly during our visit . He allowed us to take away the display chairs already built to save me having to build them myself from flat pack ( which i hate doing , so was happy ! ) . He also came out and helped put them in to our car and made the whole process really smooth and enjoyable . Would strongly recommend coming to this outlet in Middlesbrough and ask for Anthony! Thankyou so much again. We will definitely be coming back !
