Group 1 BMW Call backs.

I hear that others won't buy another BMW with a bad experience, My recent new buy had a call back with the Starter motor, Starter Motor catching on fire.
Firstly the guy was rude when booking my BMW in, then during the conversation he stated BMW are so good in chasing the customers to correct the fault, Hold on there don't BMW have a responsability to put right a manufacturers fault (Starter motor catching on fire). They also promised to wash/clean the car, they never did, I refused the offer of there employer picking up the car and taking it for a wash, what planet do these guys live on? want to waste my fuel, my money, my time for a car wash that was promised to happen on the day, so disorganised its untrue. I took valuable time out of my day, my life, my working schedule so that they could put a manufacturers fault right, there mistake and they failed to carry out what was promised again, firstly an unsafe car with the call back for a faulty Starter Motor and then failing in the task of something as simple as a car wash, who are managing these incompetent people? They couldn't manage a petrol service pump let a lone serives and repairs.

DONT BE RIPPED OFF !! WATCH WHAT YOU SIGN FOR !! BMW WILL SAY THEY WILL CONTACT YOU BUT NEVER WILL ( FACT )

Where do we start ! so i buy a really nice series 1 from BMW at bristol .. everything was fine and really great .. great sales rep to be fair ..very good and presented himself very well.few things needed doing to the car prior to the hand over ( 29.08.25 ) i did mention about the slight grinding noise you hear when braking ! to be told its fine as it has the pro disks and calipers on the car and that is what you hear ! so took his word for it.. ..go to collect the car to find dent in the door and bumper totally wrong colour to the car ! but again said they will get it back in and sort it out..had my car while i was on holiday for 10days ..pick the car back up on 21.09.25. couple things were not done so again had to go back to be sorted.

That gets done ..again few days the car goes back as the washer botle dosent work at all ! front or rear ! so back it goes
( 10.10.25 ) under goes another health check ! only to find that the AC neededs doing from the 01.09.25 ! 2 days after i brought the car and also 2 bold tyres on the front of the car which are now at 2mm ! yet the full health check on the 28.7.25 shows the tyres were at 4.5mm nsf and 3.9mm osf with mileage recored at 44219. Now the sales manager told this is my fault for driving the car for 3 months ! even though i only had the car 6weeks and driven no more than 300 miles and taken into account they had the car for 10days ! so thats 5weeks of having the car ! but still told it's my fault ! so get a bill for 644.44 to do the work ! he did agree to take out the washer bottle and clean it and pay for that ! but refused to do the tyres or the AC service even though it needed it 3 days after buying the car !still refused for them to do the repairs..went and picked up the car..after many many emails and arguments with the sales manager he still refused to replace the tyres even though i proved a point in how can you drive a car less than 300 miles and have 2 bold tyres on the front ! which sere recored at 4.9mm ..anyway i took out the tyre and wheel warranty 395.00 ! to find sorry you cant claim even though you paid for that warrenty ..only if someone slashes your tyres ! paid 1099 for extra warranty! beware this covers nothing apart from your head unti inside the car basically and nothing else. also paid out 385.00 smart 40 ! not used that yet so cant tell you what that covers ! but i do know a friend took this out also and had a dent in the spoiler on the rear and told sorry its cosmetic so cant claim. the whole ordeal has been a nightmare with bmw as i have lost trust and faith in them and need others to be careful what you sign up for and take out ! my experience has been awful, sales manager is rude and unpleasant to deal with..

i stuck to my guns and eventually got the tyres replaced last week..only way i got them done was i asked for a SAR report ! which i had an email back saying basically if they replace the front tyres will i stop and drop the SAR report ! obviously something in that report im not ment to see..

Ok you might think i am being an awkward customer here ! but surly why should i have to pay out for 2 tyres and a AC sevice 3days after i brought the car ! which was reported in the health check days before.

I still have the grinding noise on the front disks which the technician picked up on in under 3mins of the health check saying the disks have a lip on them which is causing the grinding noise

Sales manager has said he would give a little bit of discount AS good will gesture when they get changed.

Took me from the 10.10.25 to the 11.12.25 to get the tyres replaced by bmw.
The whole thing was a shambles! just writing this review so others dont experience the same ordeal i went though and to check the car over and ask for the health report before having the car and go though that health check to see what is on it.

Me i got a car that is just over 13 weeks old and i need to pay for the disks to be replaced and also get the AC service done ! which i will after Christmas.

Sad as it seems i still love the car i brought ! it's just the amount of stress and hassle i had to go though to get the tyres replaced. Still believe if i didnt ask for the SAR report i would still be having this argument on how the sales manager blames me for all of this ! yet knowing i driven the car less than 300 miles and owing the car for 5 weeks.

Just be careful and give your car a good look over .. i didn't as i trusted bmw.

Before bmw group jump onto this and say sorry and to contact you to investigate.. i did .. you did nothing about it .. so dont give other customers hope when you dont do anything regarding any complaints.. just you dont like 1 * reviews or bad experiences. Yeh i got the washer bottle sorted and eventually the front tyres replaced but took a lot of stress and hassle and arguments via e-mails to get to that point ! which should never of happened. Still i gota sort out brakes and AC ..so they win i loose.
just be careful everyone.

Group 1 BMW Colchester

I normally go to Group 1 BMW Colchester to inflate my tiers. I’m always welcome with a smile and promptly attended. Last week I was there for the MOT and AMY was helpful, nice and attentive. Couldn’t ask for better Customer Service and services for my car. Brilliant. Keep on doing an excellent job. Well Done everyone.

Dashcam 3 Pro

I ordered an upgrade to my dashcam to version 3 Pro after telling me this a better version so now £609 - I said ok and booked it in. They then told I couldn’t have the same day as it had to be programmed ( no one told me this ), I said ok but next day they phoned to say they had a problem and needed a new cable (so ok this can happen) but another day without the car. They phoned Friday to say it was ready. Collected the car no instructions just that it was working. There was a box in the car with my old camera which I checked when I got home - No instructions.

Removed old app and got the 3.0 version.
Firmware out of date but could not connect to wifi as no password given to me. So not impressed with the whole process and delays of two days.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Unacceptable Delay and Poor Customer Service – BMW Group 1 Watford

I had my BMW serviced on 22nd September, and due to BMW not accepting Amex cards, I was charged twice — once through my driver’s personal card and again via my business debit card.

They promised a refund to my driver within a few days, but now it’s over two months and still no refund. For a premium brand, this is extremely disappointing.

If a customer delayed payment by two months, BMW would never accept it — so why is it acceptable for them to hold a customer’s money this long? Very unfair and unprofessional experience.

Safe cars

I buy a new BMW every 4 years and have owned 5 cars so far. Despite the various software problems with the new models, I think I have very high trust in the company and the cars - the problems are cleared up quickly and on time. I do not have high trust in the local dealers, who often neglect us, but when I manage to contact the headquarters directly, I get the necessary attention. My review is not that I like BMW cars, but that I have trust in the manufacturer - that it thinks about the comfort, satisfaction and most importantly the safety of its customers.

Habe einen BMW x3 3.0d mit M , und fast alle Sonderausstatung Bj.2019, er hatte zum Zeitpunkt der Beanstandung 79000km auf dem Tacho..
Sitzwange ist eingerissen, so was passiert von heute auf Morgen..
BMW sagt sie übernehmen keine Kosten..da muss man sich schon fragen was das für eine Qualität ist..und was ist mit den anderen sachen..Werde den BMW alls langjähriger Kunde schnellst möglich verkaufen...

ich habe meinen BMW 318d (F30

ich habe meinen BMW 318d (F30, N47) vor einem Jahr mit 180.000 km gekauft. Seitdem habe ich in Rekordzeit über 15.000 € in Reparaturen verbrannt. Was ich in zwölf Monaten mit diesem Auto erlebt habe, spottet jeder Beschreibung und zerstört jedes „Premium“-Versprechen, das BMW je gemacht hat.

Meine Realität mit BMW – eine Liste der Zumutungen
Turbolader und Ölverbrauch: Der Wagen frisst Öl, die Verdichterseite voller Öl, Ladedruckprobleme, Notlauf. Jetzt steht ein Turbotausch an – wieder vierstellig. Davor eine Motorreparatur - fast fünfstellig. Aufgrund einer Steuerkette die binnen 10.000 Kilometer riss, seit ich dieses Auto besessen habe.
Elektronik-Misere: Radio, Parksensoren – mal tot, mal spuken sie. Für eine Marke, die sich mit „Ingenieurskunst“ brüstet, ist das einfach peinlich.
Karosserie/Alltagstauglichkeit: Türprobleme inklusive – selbst Basics bekommt diese Marke nicht zuverlässig hin.
Werkstattroulette & Folgekosten: Jedes Symptom zieht eine Lawine nach sich: Dichtungen, Leitungen, Sensoren, Reinigungen, Fehlerspeicher – man zahlt und zahlt.
Fazit nach 12 Monaten: Statt „Freude am Fahren“: Dauerfrust am Zahlen. Dieses Auto ist kein Gebrauchtwagen – es ist ein Geldvernichter.

Warum ich das schreibe – und an wen
An BMWs Vorstand: Wenn ein Kunde innerhalb eines Jahres solche Summen in Standardkomponenten (Turbo, Motor, Elektronik, Türmechanik) stecken muss, ist das kein „Einzelfall“, sondern ein Qualitätsversagen. Eure Produkte sollen „Premium“ sein – in meinem Alltag sind sie unzuverlässig, kostspielig und nervenaufreibend.

An alle, die einen BMW kaufen wollen
Lest das nochmal: >15.000 € in 12 Monaten für ein Auto, das angeblich für Langlebigkeit steht. Nie wieder BMW. Wer sich „Premium“ kauft und dafür Planungssicherheit, Haltbarkeit und Sorglosigkeit erwartet, ist hier falsch. Es gibt Marken, die weniger versprechen – und mehr liefern.

Was ich von BMW erwarte
Ehrliche Stellungnahme zu den bekannten Schwachstellen (insb. N47/Turbo/Elektronik).
Kulanz und klare Lösungen, statt den Kunden in der Kostenfalle alleine zu lassen.
Qualität vor Marketing – weniger Slogans, mehr Substanz.
Bis dahin bleibt mein Fazit unverändert:
BMW? Nein danke. Premium-Aufpreis für Probleme im Abo braucht kein Mensch.

Natürlich werde ich diesen Text auf alle bekannten Bewertungsforen veröffentlichen - dieser BMW war der vierte in meinem leben, aber auch mein letzter.

Experience has been a nightmare.

I bought a car from BMW Tunisia and the whole experience has been a nightmare.

Ignored messages and misleading dates.

My passport was withheld, leaving me stuck in Tunisia and unable to return to France.

I lost more than €4500, with no car delivered and no compensation.

I also suffered significant moral and emotional distress due to this situation.

What is most shocking is that I sent several detailed emails to BMW Group headquarters: despite being fully informed, they have taken no action whatsoever.

For a brand that calls itself premium, this lack of responsibility is unacceptable.

I never thought I’d switch from being…

I never thought I’d switch from being an Audi driver, but From the moment I saw the BMW i4 coupe I knew I had to have one! So last November to switch the key and badge and whilst at it made the switch to a fully electric. (i4, M50)

I never write a review immediately after purchase of a new car because I’m always in honeymoon phase for a few months!

All I can say is that my experience of BMW from purchase until now has been amazing! The car is incredible to drive and its handling is sensational! Living in London where every road is 20mph you don’t get the enjoyment so much but getting out onto the open road honestly is my favourite part of the week!

I love all the little details about this car including the fact it’s got the newest iPhone usb port!!

This is a seriously beautiful car- particularly is the electric range- I’m so pleased I made the switch to BMW and I look forward to many happy years driving these cars!

BMW software updates affecting the safety of vehicles

My BMW X6 went in to the BMW dealership for it's first service. This included a mandatory software update in relation to the Integrated Brake System (IBS).
Several days later, I approached the vehicle to find all side windows half way down. I thought that I may of accidently pressed the key button. I started the vehicle to drive off, and all screens went off. The screens reset into basic mode. This was repeated a few days later. The technician was called out, and after looking at the diagnostics, the vehicle was recovered as it was deemed unsafe to drive. The software updates have randomly affected a number of BMW's and critically the safety systems of the vehicles, such as lane assist, advance crash protection, distance/parking control etc. plus the autohold. Here we are 20+ weeks later. BMW's response; "new software will be rolled out shortly that should resolve the issues"? When I ended up in the middle of on-coming traffic because the autohold had turned itself off again, enough was enough. There is No explanation in writing from BMW customer Services, an uncomfortable secret for them. Buyer be aware. BMW support for these issues is almost none existent.

How can this be so difficult????
I got a recall notice of a “potential” problem that may, or may not apply to my vehicle.
I provided photos as directed to find out if my airbag needed to be replaced.
2 weeks have passed & I got a reply to say that my pics have been rejected as my VIN might not be my VIN.
I replied with further pictures of the VIN which matched the VIN on my log book & the VIN on the original letter. My email was rejected as their email address no longer exists.
I rang bmw group, they directed me to my non-local dealer, an hour away, they couldn’t help & suggested I pop in??? I work, I use my car for work & I’m not anywhere near this - it’s in a different county.

As this wasn’t an option, they reconnected me to bmw, to the recall team. They couldn’t help me but took details to set up an account & promised an email, but no email arrived.

Another call revealed that the name set up on my account was wrong even though they originally sent me a letter with the correct details & my email was also spelt incorrectly.
I was promised that the email address had been corrected & an email would be resent. Still not got anything.
Two hours have passed since I tried to resolve this & I’ve made no progress & feel that I’m losing the plot.

Higly unprofessional organization!!!

On a brand new car X5 (10 months old at the time of purchase) we discovered rust damage on the boot lid. We went to BMW damage service shop to show the damage.

We were told this is not rust damage despite bubbling paint from the inside?!They tried to convince us that this is due to a small stone chip and external influences and that the new car warranty (first 3years) does not cover this. This is a car in the premium level and to claim that bubbling paint is from a stone chip and to deny this on the warranty of such a new car is unacceptable and a shame. I therefore wanted to escalate this further up in their organization and speak to the person who is responsible for guarantees/goodwill in the nordic,but with no reply from them other than to get back to the shop I already visited. Customerservice BMW Northern Europe AB is simply refusing to give me the name and take this further up in their organization. This will be the last car I buy from them!!! A pitty and a shame that the BMW group is destroying a premium brand like that and taking a shit on their customers, destroying a brand that have existed for so long and always represented high end quaily cars and servive. Obviously hiring uncompetent people and totally ignoring any level of great customer service from the management. Stay away from them is my advice!! And to BMW group-Hybris is a dangerous thing.

Due to my experience of buying a bmw 5…

Due to my experience of buying a bmw 5 series with a faulty suspension on 37k miles and being told there's nothing we are prepared to do to help contribute towards repair costs i honestly will never buy another bmw and will go out of my way to warn people of the danger of owning one of these useless pieces of German engineering. Parts are simply substandard quality and the markup on parts is absolutely astonishing. Sorry bmw but its a big fat NEIN from me.

We are a household of 4 and a 2-car family. I contacted the dealership and after missing each other finally managed to speak with MARK PRICE to arrange a test drive for an X5 and a 4 series Gran Coupe, as we are looking at replacing both family cars in the coming months. On hearing my request to test drive both of these, I was informed by Mark that neither car was available for a test drive but he will call me when they do become available. To date, no call has been received ( some 4 plus weeks later).

Finding it suspicious, I asked a family member to book a test drive for the X5 at same dealership. She managed to get an appointment immediately, with ALEX STANLEY DAVIES. I asked her to call back and also book the 4 series Gran Coupe for the same day to avoid multiple visits. He confirmed immediately that the 4 series was also available and scheduled the test drive in. On the day of the test drive, having planned both our days around the visit to the dealership, she received a call minutes before we were about to leave the house, from Alex informing her that the person who drives the company X5 was ill and had not made it into work and that the one 4 series in the entire dealership sold the previous day and therefore was not available. Rather convenient. So, our day was wasted. He also emailed to say that he would be in touch on Monday to reschedule.

The promise of a follow-up call to reschedule, has still not happened almost 4 weeks later. We have deliberately waited to give both of them the benefit of the doubt, before posting this review. Cleary and arrogantly both Alex and Mark have made assumptions that we are not serious buyers, with absolutely no basis for this assessment. Extremely short sighted for people who work on commission to decide without even having met us that we are not serious.

On a positive note, it is good to know what the service is like now, before we committed to 3-year finance deals for two cars.

We will be taking our business elsewhere and will make it a point to share our experience with family and friends who are considering their next purchase!

And if the corporate team at BMW are reading this, you may want to consider how your dealerships deal with potential clients. They are harming your brand – Product and service go hand in hand. Appalling service by Group 1 Borehamwood!

Bought a brand new bmw 320i in 21.

Reported after 1 year that the boot leaked water, been back to 3 different garages on 3 separate occasion to be told by all that there was nothing wrong with the car.

Car is now out of warranty and I have to constantly take the boot apart to dry it out.

I will never by a bmw again, the worst and most unprofessional automotive company

One star too much

It’s a shame you have to give one star. What a joke of a company. Having arranged a recall for the EGR several weeks ago. I receive a confirmation email two days prior then a confirmation phone call the day before the work is due to be completed. However a further phone call two hours after the previous one now cancels the work !!! Elvet Durham clueless customer service only after your money.
And it gets better HQ bmw spoken to and told I would have a response via email. Still waiting 👎
If you pay you get !

Don't expect a response from the communications director

For 3 weeks I have attempted to extract some simple information from BMW Customer Services Farnborough.
No answers.
I sent three emails and called the personal mobile of BMW Corporate Communication Director
I did not expect a direct response - but hopefully contact from someone asking how can I help
Nothing - how rude and arrogant - Customers are obviously not valued in the BMW Group anymore
Go elsewhere with your custom
