Great box with interesting book and lots of exciting additional publications and a beautiful gift.

My February box has arrived. Nice packaging. More unwanted bits and pieces. Not sure what the small cloth bag is for. Another chick lit book.

I was given a three-month subscription for a Christmas present and I love getting my boxes! It feels like my birthday when they come. I adore all the extra things you get and how there always seems to be a theme. The books have been great and it's a good incentive to finish your book before the next box comes!

I have a new 6 month membership which was given to me as gift. I was very excited to receive my first box of October and the products were fantastic and so far I'm enjoying the book. I have already been looking into the independent brands included in the boxes and made a few lovely purchases and Christmas gifts.

Love books that matter and everything about them! Gorgeous products, interesting, intelligent, diverse and fascinating book choices. The best gift to myself I ever bought! Highly recommended.

I LOVE Books that Matter - a little bundle of joy and happiness through my letterbox every month. Always filled with great gifts that support independent artists and makers and support ethical brands as well as a great read.

This is the second BTM box that i have received. The first being well over a year ago. I have to say I enjoyed this one so much more. I think the quality is amazing. Everything from the theme and book, to all to all of the other things that accompany it in the box. I particularly loved this month's theme having previously read Sally Rooney's other books. More themes around certain books/authors in the future would be great. If I had to pick one thing that I wasn't too keen on, it would be the packaging. I received the old style box. I know they need using up so wasn't too upset. I just can't wait to see the new style boxes haha. This is definitely more than just a book in a box. Its a full reading experience. There are also quality social channels that keep you immersed throughout. I would definitely recommend.

I have been purchasing Books That Matter boxes for 6 months now and I absolutely adore it! It's always a treat when you receive your box and start opening it, wondering what you may find this time!
What I also love about the boxes is how they showcase the work of so many talented women, whether they be authors, artists or soap makers!

I've purchased a number of boxes from BTM. The books are always thoughtfully chosen and I have enjoyed reading books that I wouldn't necessarily have chosen for myself. The gifts are a bit hit and miss, it really depends on your taste; for example, I received a leg spray which I don't have an enormous amount of use for, but I'm sure others will.

One thing to note is that sometimes the books are quite damaged. I've received two boxes now where the box itself and the contents are absolutely fine, but the cover of the book is badly damaged. I'm not really sure how this has happened or what can be done about it, but I just wanted to note this.

This is such a wonderful subscription box - a must for feminist book lovers! Great value for money as well

I do love my book subscription, I have tried a few and have settled on this one. The books are carefully chosen and the theme is lovingly put together, I like the fact that the box isn't stuffed with "promotional" items like discount codes for other businesses which I found in other book boxes. I thing it is great value for money and the items so far have not only been unique and beautiful but also useful.

I decided to order the September box because I was going to pick up a copy of the new Sally Rooney anyway and was lured in by the idea of the box being only 1p more than RRP. I will say upfront I wasn’t considering making this a long term subscription, I was just curious as I hadn’t tried a book box before.
It did take two days after publication to arrive, which I suppose is relatively fast, and I’m not sure whether shipping for the release day was beyond their control.
The box is beautifully presented (and for the most part, packaging can be recycled or repurposed) but underwhelming. I got some chocolate (vegan, so it will cater to most people’s diets), the bookmarks and tote that Faber have been giving away at lots of recent events and a little magazine. I was under the impression looking at this, and from the box being advertised as a collaboration with Faber, that the mag would feature some sort of interview about the book. Instead, it seemed to be an article written by BTM with some quotes from an actual Sally Rooney interview, and there was no real unique insight on the book. The contents, and the idea of this as a collaboration with Faber, seemed quite oversold to me.
Also, as someone worried about waste and trying not to purchase goods I don’t need and won’t use, I realise that a book box - this or another one - is not for me. It’s not the fault of the BTM team, but the Faber cotton tote bags made to promote this book (and we know they’ve promoted it hard) aren’t good quality and I’m unlikely to get much use out of it. I’ll use the bookmarks but have already recycled the magazine after finding it disappointing upon a skim read. Obviously I ate the choc, I’m not a monster!
I like the ethos of promoting women authors and feminist books but I personally just don’t need all the extras that come as part of the book box and wouldn’t say it has the value for money for me to repurchase. However, I can totally see why others love it and the rebrand is lovely :)

I don't think a book box can be perfect for everyone, for me, this is the best of the bunch.
I've enjoyed every book I've received (3 at this point) and I love the packaging. The social media platforms are engaging without being intrusive, and I appreciate the emails I receive which are fun to read.
The extras in the box, while fun and novel, are just this. In my opinion, most of the items are redundant and while I appreciate they are created by small buisnesses, most of the time I do feel they won't be used by the majority of people. I personally would like to see more 'useful' items like snacks or drinks: something that can be appreciated by most.
The cost of the box Is understandable when you are getting a new release book, plus a selection of items from smaller buisnesses, however, I feel on balance it is quite expensive for what you are getting.
I'm happy to pay the amount for what I receive but I can understand the frustration of some who think the box is too expensive for what it is when the items, as I said earlier, are sometimes made redundant by their limited use.

Overall I love this book subscription and will continue to subscribe :)

I love the books that matter boxes. They have introduced me to authors and genres that I probably wouldn't have read otherwise. I love the variety of gifts that comes with the boxes, especially as they are supporting women led small business. I also enjoy having a themed bookmark to go with the book. The only thing I would change would be the amount of greetings cards/prints, as they do feature in a fair few boxes, and I don't personally have a use for them so they end up in a drawer unused.
I also regularly buy the brave girls book club boxes for my daughters and it has introduced them to a whole new world of reading.
Overall I highly recommend the boxes.

I absolutely love my Books that Matter boxes, I’ve dipped in and out in the past with the odd box, but took the plunge on a 3month subscription and am so glad I did for the August box. It meant I automatically got the Sept box of the collaboration box with Sally Rooney for the Beautiful World Where Are You box. So happy with the contents, great value for money. I am a happy customer!

I have ordered the monthly feminist book box from Books That Matter over the past three months. I have been very happy with the books and content of the boxes each month. I have paid for each box on a monthly basis, so if there is a month that I don't want I am not tied into a subscription. I think the price of the box is just right (at £17 a month) for a new book and the extra treats. I look forward to receiving the box each month, I like that I am paying into a feminist service that supports a variety of female authors, and I like feeling a part of a community that the Books That Matter team have built online.

I love the selection of books which arrives each month from Books That Matter. The are a variety of genres and not always that which I might choose to read, and yet each month I am drawn in and relish the literature which (it feels so luxurious) arrives through my door.

I have been a subscriber of Books That Matter for just over a year. I was gifted a subscription for a birthday and have renewed it a number of times.
The boxes are well thought through, they are inclusive in that whilst its a feminist book box, they often have books from LGBTQ+ and Black, Asian and Multi-Ethnic backgrounds as well. The gifts that come with the books are great - from smaller businesses and often include chocolate or tea, which is great to have whilst reading the book. Sometimes there are hardback, sometimes there are two book specials but always, there is great customer service and lots of excitement when it arrives in the post.
